Wondering why you went over the skin s/b with 3 differents blades vs just going right to the 00 or 000 used..thanks..love your videos i realize it's a fade but wasnt done in fade layers
I could have done it reverse, starting with a #000 and then gone up. I use the detachable blades, not guards so it would be the same if I started with a #000, and blended with 3 different guards or blade lengths. I could use less but I want to give it a blended look in a very small space. It's subtle but it will give you different variances. Does that make sense? The reality is, there are so many ways to do it, I just find this way the most efficient without "scrubbing" the hair. I hope this helps but if I need to clarify, let me know!

I like both and have used both with no preference. I don't need 2 speeds so the grey are sufficient. I got the black ones so I could use cordless but it was too heavy and my wrists started hurting after long days. Back to the cord!

Yes, Andis BGRC. There are 2 versions and I have used them both, and I like both.
Looks like a bowl cut. She’s not using proper techniques for the fade. This is a stylist or salon approach to a fade. Probably twice the cost of a barbershop as well. 🤦♂️
As if the barbers do the proper technique, just look at all the YT videos. They do one half assed "fade" (god call it a cut) and call it a day. This is not a bowl cut but a solid crop haircut compared to the ones offered by countless barbers out there.

MegaTVscreen it is a bowl cut. Nothing against the stylist in the video. I admire her shear work but it’s not a good fade. The barbers you see on youtube take their time using proper technique and stretch the fade for a smoother transition. You can’t get a smooth transition by only using 2 blade sizes especially with all that bulk on the sides. The fade in this video has no transition at all. It goes for super short to long causing that bowl cut look. That’s why a lot of stylist who work in salons don’t like fading men’s hair because they refuse to use the proper technique which takes time so they take short cuts by skipping guards. Sad part is the average man doesn’t know the difference between and good fade and a shitty fade so a lot of times they end up over paying just because they got a cut in a salon. Try asking someone that works in a salon to do a bald fade. I’d guarantee they’d struggle. It’s not what they do. Leave the fading to the barbers.
@@quest808 I work at a great clips as a licensed cosmetologist and you’re not wrong. It took for ever to break my habit of using shortcuts and, after countless barber videos, bald fading takes extra times, yes, but it’s entirely worth it to go step by step. After enough repetition, I can finish the cut, fade to foil shaver, all in about 25 minutes (give or take).

@@quest808 got to the end, I wanted to disagree with you but then I saw the back of his head in the mirror. You’re right, too condensed, especially from far away, you can hardly see any transition.
That said, I still store a couple techniques from this channel, just not this specific video.

Ha ha! The black is two speeds and the grey is one speed. They’re both great, I’ve used them both. I don’t use the 2 speeds though! I got the black one because it came with a cordless charger but I don’t use it because it was heavy and hurt my wrists.
