It's a process to get my son to a barber in addition to getting his hair cut. Your video has helped me be able to give him the haircut myself. Thank you for making your videos. We appreciate you 🙏
I probably watched 10 comb over videos before I found yours.. Yours was exactly what I was looking for. You give a perfect example of a how to! Thank you so much.
Hi andy. Ive watched a lot of yt to find a good tutorial on cutting tops and this video is now my goto. Im new to learning barbering and I have followed both your balanced and disconnected tops tutorials and now my confidence has really grown and people are now commenting how good my cuts are. thanks a million.
I am a new cosmetologist but finding myself cutting mens hair more often. This video is straight forward and has helped me with this type of disconnect comb over. Thank you much!
This is what i’ve been looking for in haircutting tutorials, an actual explanation of how they cut the top instead of those fast forward cuts that go way too fast for me to understand what was happening. Thank you!
It is still is very useful! Thank you for explaining it in details. And loved the hard part. My clients has been coming back to see me for over 5 years now. And I don't know how to explain to them about how I measured their hair to make it 100% perfect. I know how to do it but it was hard to explain it in details. Much appreciated friend!
@@AndysCuts hi Andy. Do you teach because I think you would be fantastic. I hated my barber training. It was a fast track course, full time 10 til 5, five days a week for nine weeks, this was great, but the educators were just really young guys who had so much attitude and thought they were so cool. After the 9 weeks I left feeling I'd learned no more than I'd learned in the first two weeks, with zero confidence. I got a job straight away and now I have my own shop, all within a year, so I can't be dreadful even though I feel I'm winging it and have to make it up on the spot sometimes. If I'd had you as my trainer I feel I would have excelled. You are so inspiring. Such a nice quality about you. Do you have any videos of high and tight zero on the sides blended into the top? This is something I still can't do and get asked to do it a lot in my shop and I get so stressed out.
This guy gets itttttt 💯💯💯 Best hard part cut explination I have seen! I usually have issues with barbers cutting the top incorrectly but he does it exactly how I need it to be! Good stuff!
Would be awesome for you to make a video on how to do this entire haircut! You used to do my bfs hair in CA but we moved to TX and he’s been trying to find someone who can do this style but no one comes close lol
Great video! I'm really diggin' how you are showing the client from the front too. There are so many videos that just show the side and the back so you end up having no idea what it really looks like in the front. Thanks!
I think most barber tutorial videos on RUclips are more focused on stylish edits and “look how good I am” kinda antics without actually teaching. Your videos are great, you take it slow which is important especially for new barbers.
Hi Andy. Love to see your hair return to the former glory of thick and black. Could you do a haircut long on the top and short on the side (mid to low skin fade)? Just like your current hair style, there is so much to work on and play with when the hair on the top is long and bouncy.
This is so helpfull . Thank you... I am cutting residents hair in long term care cause hairdresser can’t come in this quarantine . Thank God to videos like this to guide us.🙂
Very helpful tutorial. What about if you want a disconnection on both sides? Basically if you are looking for hair hanging over on one side instead of being blended in, like an undercut? How would you cut that?
this video is so helpful for pandemic haircut!! that said my husband's hair is pretty long, it was quite difficult to follow the guide from the front hairline... he also would prefer a longer length rather than what you did with the model, would you have any suggestions? thanks!
Ohhh the best video I have seen 👌 But QUESTION : did you do another video on how you cut the sides and back ? I want to do my husband hair with your hair top method 👍 but I am stuck with how I will do the side to fit with the top !! Thanks so much 😊
Thank you Bro...i have been cutting my hair for long....but always i get confused when time to cut top hair... You helped me alot.. Love you Bro God bless you ❤
You say to use a number 1 with comb to blend the sides around the 4:30 video mark. I dont see a guard on your clippers. So are the clippers a number one already? So for the confusion.
@@AndysCuts Last question. Do you have the clipper open or closed with the number 1 attached? I am practicing cutting my kids hair. Haha. Thank you so much.
This is so intricate information specially the 1inch clipper over comb detail was so apt. Lots of love & power to you🖤.. I wish I could work with you. So much inspiration.
Need to cut my son's hair during jakarta lockdown n come across this amazing video...ordering my barber set tomorrow n goodluck to my son be a guinea pig😁
Thank you soooooo much Andy...this is exactly what I looking for..I wish I can learn more from your next clips with extremely curly hair...thank you and Happy Thanksgiving Andy!
Great tutorial! Hope this help my amateur haircutting. My boyfriend is getting angry at me for not doing a good job cutting his hair. I'm not a barber but I do try. 🥺
Hi, would this be considered blending the bangs with the rest of the hair? If this isn’t exactly what blending the bangs with the rest of the hair is, any chance someone can recommend a video? thanks
I don't have a problem with cutting the top but I do have a problem with the crown bc of a bad cowlick. I like your style and I hope you have videos addressing cowlicks. You got my sub. :o)
Would you cut back to front if you want the front longer than the back? In your cross check, you emphasize making everything even, but is it ok to want that hilly, messy texture?
The best tutorial ever! I always looking for how to cut the top because it is the most challenging. If the top get cuts wrong, your hair will look funny.
How long would you say the top hairs of his are? For my reference? Really good video. Seems like most barbers where I am do not “cross check” and forget the “corners” (first half of the video). And it shows. Sucks. Always gets just a little longer overall until I have to ask for a lot cut off. The front is my biggest issue. Forget the corners, so it will want to come to a point….and curl to my eyebrow
I'm not a barber just a customer. Does it make sense to request, say, a middle taper or a mid skin fade on the side with a disconnect on the top? Or a #2 on the sides with a disconnect on the top, or with just a regular on the top? In fact, how would I tell the barber to cut my hair the way you've cut the models hair?

If only my barber, and perhaps most barbers, were as thorough as you are.
Look for another Barber
There are a lot outhere, you are just not find out yet
They are. They are just more expensive then the barber you go to.

Is there a video where you do the sides how this guy has it?
Yes. But I can do one of this guy
this is the best video for cutting the top - great teacher! thanks

I have really thick hair and most of the times I comb it to the side and back. The advice to cut the disconnected side level is really helpful.
I’ve watched 3+ videos on cutting the top hair and this is the easiest one ! Thank u 😅

Well said.
Please, please show us working on the crown area!
Hi, I'm not making any barber videos at the moment. I'll be adding it on a new barber channel when the time comes.
this is the only detail haircut tutorial video.. others doesn't taught everything.
Very helpful tutorial. What about if you want a disconnection on both sides? Basically if you are looking for hair hanging over on one side instead of being blended in, like an undercut? How would you cut that?
What kind of brush is that blue one you used along with the clippers?
It’s Johnny B

Thanks! Good luck!

Really very simple to understand.now as it is quarantine really needed this tutorial.
Can you show us how you blend the back part of the hair.
I just learn to cut for my son and this is very helpful, tks alot
works great if you have good shears! i bought 25$ shears and they suck. can they be sharpened?
Thank you for being so detail! One of my favorite haircut videos 🤩.
Thanks for watching!
This is amazing 😍 thank you! I have a question if the client wants the comb over (the hair on top) to be longer I can still use this technique right?
Thanks for the instructions. You explained it very well. Would you pls tell me which clipper you used? Thanks.
Exactly this is what I need.
Much appreciated brother.

If I’m doing a clipper over comb. The clipper I’m using is using metal guards. But it should be the same as your plastic number 1

That’s all you need to say. You’re not a barber
Hey Andy, what would I say to my barber if I wanted this kind of cut? And what numbers were used? This looks so clean!
Hi, would this be considered blending the bangs with the rest of the hair? If this isn’t exactly what blending the bangs with the rest of the hair is, any chance someone can recommend a video? thanks
Yeooooo, When using the clippers over comb with a levered clipper would I use the one guard or lever open ???
Start with no guards lever open
It might not blend into the 1 1/2 guard but it’s good practice. You can always use the 2 guard to blend into that Clipper over comb
I don't have a problem with cutting the top but I do have a problem with the crown bc of a bad cowlick. I like your style and I hope you have videos addressing cowlicks. You got my sub. :o)

Hi, so it doesn't matter which direction when you trim and cross check the top? No matter it should be even right?
Great Job Andy ! I need a cut.
What type of shears do you use...can you make a scissor/clipper over comb video?
thanks kindly
I usually cut with a $40 shear. This one though is called hanzo. They are a lot more pricier
Thank you very much 🤓
Would you cut back to front if you want the front longer than the back?
In your cross check, you emphasize making everything even, but is it ok to want that hilly, messy texture?
What's the hairstyle/cut you have for your hair? Looks dope!
I'm just amazed as to how you were able to focus on the tiny strands of hair on your camera!
Hahaha idk either. My eyes can see things

I'd like to see more of the clipper over comb technique. You demo it well here but for the at home barber it's a hard skill to get your head around.
Yeah. It’s a really hard skill to teach. It’s more hands on if anything
@@AndysCuts I'll keep an eye out for close-ups. I suppose white comb for black hair would be best for us newbies :)

This young man is really good. I would definitely trust him to cut my hair.
This client didn't really look like he needed a haircut .

what if this was a medium lenght hair but the client wanted right side of head hair to be undercut/hang over instead of blend, how would that be cut??

All those make sense. They are all different haircuts so you need to know what you want.
I got long hair but I want some volume in my hair what kind of haircut do you suggest getting n bye what’s your hairstyle called ?
What about the colic? Do you keep it long or blend in? What if it sticks up and doesnt lay down naturally?
