- This classic modern men's clipper haircut some hair left on top will give you a good sense of shape and design. I start with the top length in the fade and move down. I have other videos that show fading from the bottom up as well.

Can you please do these kind of videos but also talk about what you're doing while doing it. That would be amazing!
You are very talented. I'm glad that you chose to cut men's hair instead of women's. Barbering for guys definitely need more people like you.
Hi Amanda! I've been a barber for 5 years and I've learned so much from all your videos. I've watched a lot of different barbers on RUclips but it's your precise clipper over comb work that I enjoy watching the most! Cheers from Calgary, Canada.
Holy cow your technique and skill is amazing.. watching you create such an effortless shape with clipper over-comb in a matter of seconds was breath taking
Thank you! The best compliment I could receive. :)
@@AllenRayHair I feel exactly the same. You are just incredible
The best technique and skill i have seen in clipper using with comb. I love the way you do👍♥️
I can watch you cut forever and never get tired. The only thing I would like from you is for you to explain with detail exactly what you are doing. How to lay the comb, distanced from the comb and head, angles, guard number ect ect. You got me asking “what kind of sorcery is this?” If I learn your trick, I’d be the best in town for sure. Looking forward to your new videos and thanks for what you do ma’am.
Thank you! I know what you're saying! I could talk for hours on what I'm doing and why! I try to keep it minimal for RUclips, being that the audience is massive! Let me know if you have any specific questions though. Where do you cut hair?
A few quick tricks though. When you part, lay the spine of the comb flat and use that to push the hair away. Also, I never use longer than a 1.5 blade length on my Andis removable blade clippers. If it gets longer than that, I switch to a clipper over comb technique. The biggest thing I see when I teach is that people go too fast, take too large of sections, and continuously pick. If you can imagine what haircut you're doing, start at the right, create your panel to the end result, and follow through, you are AHEAD of the GAME!!! Most people just cut and react, START WITH THE END IN MIND!!! Maybe I can do a live series or something?!
AllenRaySalon please do the live. Make it clipper over comb for dummies. Haha
I’m currently a student and haven’t started working yet. At school, the professors don’t know this technique and have us doing bald fades all day with only guards. It takes me about 1-1:45 hr to finish a haircut and don’t even look as good as yours. You are the grand master, the Obi Wan of haircuts.
Ha ha. Thanks! I was lucky and had great teachers. One thing I notice with barbers is they like to put hard lines in. Work on a blend as you're moving up the head so there is less "scrubbing" the hard lines out. This is easier on straight hair of course but even on textured hair try to "soften the hard line" if that makes sense!
I was reading your replies and found the philosophy of doing hair or anything for that matter : START WITH THE END IN MIND :)
You're an inspiration! Thank you :)
I've cut hair for years and I really like what you do and how you do it. Well done you.
My God your clipper skills are just mesmerizing. Most barbers work in guidelines, blending each one out. You work in this beautiful gradient... Angled clippers and an effortless transition to clipper over comb. It's the first time I've seen someone use detachable blades so efficiently and smoothly. Plus your scissor work is just fast and smooth! Can't believe how quickly and effortlessly you make sections! I can only imagine how many quality haircuts you can do a day, must be making a killing in your shop! Absolute pleasure to watch!
Thank you for that! Just by the way you described this - you sound masterful yourself. :)
@@AllenRayHair not at all. I just cut hair as a hobby, usually friends and family. I learned a lot from your videos.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words.
I would love to watcy more of your haircuts, I no longer cut hair but watching haircuts seems so theraputic for me... If you could please up load videos every so ofte I think it would be benefitial for you and to viewers implementing your skills towards their sytles.
newbie barber here..amazing haircut using comb only...great tutorial ilove this mam amanda
I wonder if your clients understand your performing absolute MAGIC on their head!! Amazing!
I should let them know! ha ha
This was like those extremely satisfying videos that almost give you an ASMR response!
Nice Fade!!! Very subtle. It's modern, but at the same time he can use it in a more formal situation.
I love your work, I'm a barber but your work is enchanted, just too much, congratulations.
Thanks Edson!
Who need guard when you have master ninja skill level like this!
My goal this year is to start cosmetology school and be precise just like her ❤️
Her fading technique gives 10-0 to all the tutorials I've seen on youtube. And she does is so fast! Really happy I found this channel.
Absolutely incredible. You just work magic with clipper over comb. I have no idea how to do this and I qualified 2 yrs ago. I've had my own shop nearly a year but I don't have a quarter of your talent. Watching this video makes me think about giving up because I just don't see how I will ever have your level of skill. You are amazing
This was NOT meant to un-inspire you!!! Like anything, I study it. I try to understand the why and how, and then ask how can I do it better? If you give up before mastering it - you have the risk of this showing up everywhere in your life, not just hair. ;)
@@AllenRayHair I need someone to teach me (even though I have a qualification!)
im a barber too and i found ur skills of cutting hair rly amazing....your videos also are sooooo relaxing and what a pleasure to watch after work late night...:D keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoy. :)
Your technique was amazing I won’t tired to watching your video but need more details pls
Another excellent tutorial.
Your explanation is on point.
Well done.
What I got in touch with today is which blade to use with a detachable.
To get the desired blend.
I'm there with you on the shears over comb.
You make it look so effortless.
I suppose it is really.
How you bring the cut all together with the finish cuts.
I learn much from you.
Thank you
😎👌
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. :)
I always say the same comment on your videos. OUTSTANDING. My dream would be to spend a week with you while you taught me your techniques. I've recently qualified and have been working in a shop for a month, but your skills would take me to the highest level. I love the way you appear, so calm, polite, well mannered, sophisticated. You don't start your videos with dreadful hip hop music and "Yo it's your boy (insert name) here"
I try to keep it classy! Lol. I'll let you know of any upcoming classes!
I normally watch these at double speed with the sound down, but this once I had the speed at normal, then she did something I wanted to see in slow motion, so put it on half speed with sound up.
With it in slow motion and music slow, it was like some kind of haircut love scene HAHA!
Your SO good with scissors. Please please do a tutorial on how you cut the top just how you did in this vid.
Thanks all the way from new zealand 😊😊👌👌
Voy a poner en practica lo que vi .
Cortas exelente
Saludos desde Rosario, ARGENTINA.
Actually got my hair cut at this salon, back when I lived in Minneapolis. Great salon. Must check it out if you’re in the area.
Yay! Thanks for the love! xoxo
Looks great. Thier isn't many like her. Everytime I get up from the chair and she asks "is that good" I'm like "yes ma'am" but in my head I'm really like "it's good enough"
so this is a real gem, a very beautifully executed cut. ❤️
I’m so glad I found your channel. I love clipper over comb and shear over comb methods. Your cuts are always clean precise and FAST!! For future references can you please explain your reasoning for clipper choice and guard positions. Love your work Lady Boss!!
Yes and Yes! I do explain more in my live videos....
So satisfying to watch. Best video for sure! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing hair cut
LOVE the hair techniques but It would be nice to have a little more explanation to really polish up the session as you have in prior videos, this young lady had great working skills and very personable! Thank you for the post :)
Hermoso corte , gracias por compartir sus conocimientos, desde Argentina

Would really love to see a fade on fine hair texture. Seems the toughest to me.
Very fresh, excellent!
I love you. You’ve helped me a lot with the scissor technique .

Another great cut
I appreciate that
Super Nice Job !! My favorite kind of haircut !!
More commentary would be great
How I love your work. Congrats =)
0:40 *That looks sharp af*
Love all your videos, don’t care for the music. It isn’t bad,I would love to hear clipper and shear sounds instead.I hope that doesn’t insult your work which is magic
The shears and clipper sounds seem to heighten the ASMR experience
I came for the haircut but stayed for the music.
From start to finish, what clipper blade sizes do you use in the order you used them? Thanks!!

Hello Amanda I’ve been waiting on receiving an invite to another haircut demonstration. I was at your last one when you had Henry also do a demonstration.
Yes, thanks for reminding me! I need to get some more classes on the schedule! Thanks for coming. :)

You very very good haircut amanda
I loved your technique and the music. i am not familiar with either, though. it would be nice to hear you explain through the video either with voice or subtitles with the music in background. Please tell me the song titles/artist please. :)
Very nice, excellent job, i will be waiting your new video!!!
I like your videos; only I want to see very close the number of the blade ; when you show the blade , is not to clear ; I don’t know what number you use, please could you give more details; thank you for you help
I use a 1.5, 1, 0A, 000. There is also a link to the blades i use in my video description
@@AllenRayHairWhat is the clipper number you used in this video? 1 and 2 on sides and back?
Can't believe it, always hated my hair, and never known what style would suit me or if anything can be done as looks so heavy and unmanageable unless I have it cut really short, and when looking for some ideas no one ever seems to have the same type of hair as me, well untill now. this guy at the start looks to have a very simular hair type as me. yet you some how managed to make it look less heavy and very stylish. What type of starting hair length would you need for this? As his doesnt look that long..
Amanda, I saw your medium cut and I was instantly hooked. I subscribed to channnel. I do have one question though....... I noticed when you do the top you split the hair down the middle and cut one side at a time instead of doing the profile line, then you cut the middle. To me, that technique makes sense, but why do you do it?
Any chance you are located here in Phoenix or Scottsdale Az? You do a great job with Mens hair cuts and beard trims.
Nope. Minneapolis! Arizona isn't known for great hairstylists! Like fashion and food, there is a stronger culture in some areas. We had the founder of Aveda here which created great mentors and strong education. I'm lucky!
AllenRaySalon lol
I’m weak!
What kind of clippers and trimmers are your favorite? Your amazing! I’m just getting started at a sport clips and need a new pair. 😊
Very nice,it's a good job
Very nice maam
“Give him an actual style because he hasn’t had one for a few months.” BOOM ROASTED.
Like if you’re about to get your first haircut in quarantine.
So nice
You're my best!!!
Thank you Sony Desrosiers! Much love.🤗
Amazing 👌
Good
Awesome 💝
Can you please run through the order of blades used?
#1.5 - 1 - 0A - 000
Amazing
Can you do this again. Cutting with your left hand????
Newwwww un the Chanel 😍😍😍😍
Can tall guys get this cut as well or is this this only for short guys?
nice to see ur v plz continue
great job
Can you do a demo AND tutorial for the Harvey Spectre style cut that Gabriel Macht has on Suits, preferably season 7 or 8. I don’t have a receding hairline like he does but would like to replicate it, could you do a video please with explanation? Love you work and I could watch your hair cutting all day! Thank you for the videos!
Which detachable clipper blades did you use for this cut? Thank you so much for these videos - watching people do fades for more an hour becomes tedious. You show a way to do It that is both more efficient, and looks fantastic. Looking forward to more from Allen Ray Salon.
Thank you! I will try to keep uploading! I clipper over comb with a #1 (standard) and then I go from a 1.5 -> 1 -> OA -> 000
a barbeira é linda de mais
I'd never let my client walk out like that. That's embarrassing
Awesome 👍🏻
Hi! What color is the best cmob, white or black?
