This was their reunion single after breaking up in 90s. They reference 1988 in the beginning because the whole song is about reminiscing about enjoyable life moments. 1988 was NKOTB breakout year.
They did release a song during quarantine. It's House Party. Fun song with a number of artists and Mark Wahlberg and his kids are in it too...everyone socially distancing.
It is for sure. I was so happy when they came out with it. I spent time with them in the late 80's and early 90's with my sister dating Danny. Watching many of the videos of theirs on here brings back so many memories
Did you just call them grandfathers!?! BILLY, You're calling me old now too, cause I was in high school in 1988 when they came out. I love you Billy, you had me lol at that. But the boys can still do it just as good today as they could then. ;) ( yes I know I'm old lol)
I've been listening to them ever since they started in the late 80's. Got to spend some time with them thanks to my sister dating one of the members of the group for some time. So glad they got back together to do more music like this. Jordan's voice is so good
Summertime came out in 2008. It was the 1st song they released when they got back together. They have been making new songs and touring ever since. Joey is now 49, Jordan is 51, Danny is 52, Donnie is 52, and Jonathan is 53. Check out their latest song released 3 weeks ago "Bring Back the Time". They are getting ready for their 2022 tour.
Billy, June 21 is the first day of the summer solstice. It's the first day of summer. It's a reference to the title "Summertime". June 21, 2008 was also the date the song first dropped.
Billy please react to new kids on the block step by step, if you go away, hangin tough, cover girl, this one's for the children, boys in the band, 80s baby, house party, and single
This came out 2008, and was their first single since 1994. 1988 reference was from their big break with Tiffany. Open shirt guy is Donnie Wahlberg who's an actor too.
Yea this was a huge hit for them 15+ years after they were THE BOY BAND of their time. As for what to react next again for us here any of the 25 to 40 Prince Hits would be Grand.
This was written by Donnie W and Nasri who is/was the singer of Magic who had that 1 hit. Redone was a producer on this. This was the beginning of his run as the sound of pop with records by GAGA, Kat DeLuna. Enrique, JLo etc...
I love seing your reactions to these awesome New Kids videos. So cool that you actually like them. Most guys feel treatenes and just can not admit they are good... GREAT! Shows you are a real man who doesn't care what other male friends think. I'M FREAKIN PROUD OF YOU. TELL IT LIKE YOU SEE IT, NO MATTER WHAT. 👍❤️👏
Donnie and Nasri wrote it and Hakim Abdulsamad,RedOne,Adam Messinger produced it. This entire album was either written/co and or produced or co by Donnie and or the other members.
Don't forget to react to "I thought she knew" by nsync. Gotta make up for all the corny nsync performances from earlier. It's a real good song (I'm thinking of the live performance in 2000, not the one from 1996 because it is a different arrangement that is not as good)
Totally agree with you on the 2020 comment-it wasn’t offensive at all. I’m not paranoid but when I watch ...anything pre-2020 the thought crosses my mind. I can’t wait until the time comes when we hopefully don’t have those restrictions-I know some states didn’t but it is surreal that some of us had/have to deal with it. Certainly a year that won’t be forgotten 😳
LOVE THIS SONG! this came out in 2008 - the 1988 is the year they made it big I guess; but I think they;'ve been together since 86 but could be wrong. PLEase react to Jordan Knight solo stuff - Give it to you was a big solo single for him in 1999 (theres a video)
1988 is when they blew up on their 2nd Album which many started to know them..... Not alot of people knew them from their first album since it was not well pushed but had a few tracks that was great and the song NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK is where they changed their name to after they had the original as NANUKE..... They came out about 1984 after NEW EDITION left the company that started them off which NKOTB replaced..... After the 3rd Album they released a Mix Album before the 4th Album..... When the 90's became, the style of music was changing so did NKOTB's music which they left the company they were with and went to a new company..... They had more of the R&B Street Flavor which the fans didn't like so the Album was underrated which to me was a good Album..... That's when they broke up..... VH1 had a show called BAND REUNITED and NKOTB was one of the groups that was featured on an episode but not all of the members were not into it...... When their Episode was made newer Boy Bands like BACKSTREET BOYS, N'SYNC, 98 DEGRESS, and even Girl Bands were blowing up so that might be what made them not want to reunite..... So after many years aways from the music scene in 2008, they reunited and did their comback album..... This time older fans who are still fans and even the ones who started to hate them on their 4th Album started to like their music again..... NKOTB did the style of music that was out during that time period so that younger generation of fans will listen to them..... They made 2 more albums and still tour till this day..... During COVID19, they collaborated with other artists and released Singles that may not make it on an Album..... This song SUMMERTIME is the first single from their comback Album THE BLOCK..... The guy you saw with his shirt open is DONNIE WAHLBERG, he is one of MARK WAHLBERG's older Brothers...... Donnie became an Actor like Mark which Mark was in the Music Business as a Rapper before becoming an Actor..... Donnie doesn't only sing, he also does rap and does most of the rapping on most of their songs which have rap parts.....

Are we becoming a blockhead? Their music is addictive
Nothing wrong with being a Blockhead...heck I've been one since 1988/89.
Same here. I grew up in Boston and spent time with those guys back in the late 80's and early 90's when my sister was dating Danny@@marceecousins8516
A friend of mine recommended you to me and I am absolutely thankful for that!
New Kids whole reunion album from 2008 is awesome!
It is for sure. I was so happy when they came out with it. I spent time with them in the late 80's and early 90's with my sister dating Danny. Watching many of the videos of theirs on here brings back so many memories
This memory they're recalling is from 1988. The song came out in like 2008/2011.
2008.

You gotta react to some live concert footage of them singing and dancing anytime from 2022 till now. They still got every dance move and still hot.
Billy please react to new kids on the block step by step, if you go away, hangin tough, cover girl, this one's for the children, boys in the band, 80s baby, house party, and single
He did Step by Step hanging tough please don't go girl and I'll be loving you
@@sersastark please don't go girl and I'll be loving you are on RUclips but the others are not
They were active in 1988 to 1994 then they split and now they got back together in 2008.
NKOTB 2 In the Morning and Full Service. For something older, Hangin' Tough is a must.
Full Service and Dirty Dancing!
Twisted is my favorite from the album.
Timbaland made such a bop.

Hey BYSC, you know Donnie, the one that was confident with his shirt open was also Cluedool Doo on the masked singer.
Plz react to NKOTB ft Ne-Yo- Single and NKOTB - boys in the band
Boys in the Band!!!!
Single is a great song
@@jacobhazelett3886 I blasted Single so many times when it came out, and especially when I was pregnant with my oldest the following year.
@@marceecousins8516 Pretty cool!!! Nkotb are a great band and they don't get the recognition they deserve but that's just my opinion
Ooooh. They are great songs!!! Nkotb 4 ever! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Please do "Single" by New Kids and Ne-Yo. Great song and video!
The song is a reflection of times at Jones Beach in 1988
Came out in 2008. They were reminiscing back to Jones Beach 1988.
NKOTB ft Ne-Yo song “Single” please.
Do BOYS IN THE BAND by them next!!!!
X-Man as you called him was Danny. This was their first single back as a band.
You definitely got do "Full Service" from this album featuring New Edition...that beat definitely went HARD!!
1988 is when they were formed. It's a throwback.
You should see them in concert its awsome
Donnie and Nasri wrote it and Hakim Abdulsamad,RedOne,Adam Messinger produced it. This entire album was either written/co and or produced or co by Donnie and or the other members.
Check out Jordan Knight “Give It To You”. Catchy little tune from the lead singer of NKOTB 😊
I just watched the video for that song lol. Love the Grease scene.
Jordan Knight is not the leader of the New Kids on the Block Jordan Knight Joey McIntyre they are cult leaders of the group
People that comment on her but New Kids on the Block need to get their facts straight about these guys
That was a jam and lewis joint. Billy needs to just do a jam n lewis binge.
They say 1988 because it’s the location and year of I believe one of their first concerts.
June 21 was the first day of summer the year this Singh came out. 1988 was the year they became very popular as a group.

I LOVE that song! One of the very few times Joey gets to show off his amazing voice.
check out the New Kids on the Block ft. Salt n Peppa, Naughy by Nature, Tiffany and Debbie Gibbson 80s Baby
You should react to Five “When the Lights go out”. I used to sing that song all the time never realizing what it meant

This new kids on the block came out in 2008 this the first song of the album the block when they got back together
I WANTED YOU TO DO THIS SONG SO BAD YES
Donnie could never keep his shirt or pants on when on stage lol
That's a good thing!!!
Jordan and Joey has some good solo songs
They said 1988 at the start of the video because they were going back to 1988 reminiscing
Check out their video Never Let You Go.
This is my favorite nkotb song
