You're kidding me. From Warna to this? What are we witnessing here? I look forward to the seeing the rest of this talent unfold. Unfortunately he'll probably create decades of brilliance, after I'll be long gone and buried and will never see. And that saddens me. I should manage a good 30 more with any luck, though, so here's to that.
I think this is just a deeper exploration of soul expression... I agree that we are blessed to have him here with us on Earth at this time in human existence (sorry...I'm just extra for no reason sometimes).
You should wait for Dewa Budjana new album too there will be Joey Alexander featured. If you do not know Dewa’s music probably more progessive rock before transitioning to more jazz with balinese scales. You can check this if you like them. ruclips.net/video/7g3q0Mq1pOA/видео.html
Wow. What a sound, what a beautiful flow. Congratulations Joey. Tremendous track. You just glide as you listen. Crisp. Love the guitar and sax. The Rhodes is tight.
Spent all weekend digging Joey's offerings. I love the fact that he has so much of a groove to his playing. I think sometimes he'd like to go jump on the drums and lay down a funk.
Now that I'm transcribing the head and the sax solo, both are stellar examples of how a simple minor pentatonic blues can turn out to be so special at the hands of Joey and his sidemen. I can't stop listening to this track. I hope someone records the Exit Zero Jazz festival at Cape May. I live in Nicaragua, and can't get out! Love you Joey!
There are over(47) superlatives to describe this human being's ability. I've decided for me to encapsulate to one word "Wicked"; simply his ability to improvise is just that in my opinion "Wicked".
É muito bom ter um músico desse na humanidade, transmite muita coisa boa. É gênio! É maravilhoso! Coloca a música boa na nossa alma e nos faz sentir bem. Deus o proteja e lhe dê toda a felicidade do mundo!!!
This is the growth we could see in Joey, Rather than playing technically for musician circle jerking,He plays for wider audience. Composition and emotional content of his playing for wider audience. Joey has grown up for sure.
For modern jazz it's good but I preferred it when Joey was breathing new life into the classics (Duke, Coltrane, Monk, etc) with players like Russell Hall and Sammy Miller.
Sounds like he's trying to find himself. He was better when he was younger. He should be taking the music to the next level. He seems to be comfortable. That won't make you a legend. Dig deeper.
I had a great time recording this with Joey, his band, and Gilad 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I dig your solo. Lots of energy and nice lines.
¿Quién más era parte del staff?
Who else was part of the staff?

Interesting! He’s grown from a pianist to a bandleader now.
Nice tune and good luck, bruv!
He was a bandleader at the age of 10 already!

Or perhaps heavenly ;)

Joey kamu keren
Am I the only one who gets frank zappa vibes whilst listening to various segments of this piece...lol This is good stuff.
Wow! This is really good. It's 1969 OK. So now he's a composer/bandleader. !
"It's 1969 OK." Yeah, the vibe reminds me a little of Steely Dan.
in process of maturity, go ahead ✊🏽!
Ooh.. Loving this new sound, Joey!
I love this so much. The rhodes is so clean!
Damn that tune is hot. Playing Persona 5 right now and I totally feel the similar vibes.

bagus buat back sound video gua, minta izin ya joey🙏🙏
A Hancock pattern: evolving from accoustic to electric
Love the composition! love the Rhodes! But the sax is kinda like regurgitated David Sanborn.
From Felonias to Herbie. I can't tell which one I like the most. Depends on my mood.
This lil' nigga is s8 cool. Does he know how cool he is?
Nice
For modern jazz it's good but I preferred it when Joey was breathing new life into the classics (Duke, Coltrane, Monk, etc) with players like Russell Hall and Sammy Miller.
That's the nice thing about music. You don't have to choose.
Guitar comping is stepping all over Rhodes solo. 101: Avoid using same register and same accents.
Cut that guitar sound. :D
Terlalu berat buat kuping orang awam 😑
Yang bukan awam pun seleranya berbeda-beda.
Tidak semua yang bukan awam menyukai jazz.
F U N K Y
Grow your hair again man!
:)
Sounds like he's trying to find himself. He was better when he was younger. He should be taking the music to the next level. He seems to be comfortable. That won't make you a legend. Dig deeper.
Bruh.
He’s already a legend
Hey oz, you're not the wizard of oz!
Let him grow
being comfortable is ok
Why employ a guitarist, If you don't let him play?
Yes. Cut that guitar. :D
Nice
