The variac is my favorite find! Around here we rarely call the boot sales (it's not unheard of though), we usually call them flea markets. Years ago, the best flea markets for tech were at hamfests (amateur radio events). They may still be, but I haven't been to one for years now.
I used to love going to car boots, but since I no longer drive except for a wheelchair. I've got lot's of old test gear and if you like, I am willing to donate some of it to your channel free 👍
First time when I was 8 my nan gave me 5 pound and let me go to the car boot across the road while on holiday in the UK , I came back with a speccy and a box full of "totally legit tapes" and then they spent the next 2 months trying to get me outside, wish I kept it as its now worth a lot more than what I paid for it.
Nothing beats a good car boot, I used to love going to the one at Milton Keynes, that was massive and you used to need a day to walk round the place and would end up coming home with an empty wallet 🤣
Yes there were some games about but we were quite late getting to the boot sale so concentrated on getting the big items before sellers were packing up. Thanks for watching.

Yes I was particularly pleased with a variac for £5. We will be looking to go to a computer fair when time permits. See what we can find there.
