Your opinion….camping trailer with rooftop tent on trailer or trailer with tent where you camp on floor

      @TravelGigolo  Год назад

      Tough question.
We prefer camping on the ground, so that's our first choice. HOWEVER, a rooftop tent has the benefit of being off the ground in mud and uneven surfaces. Fortunately, we have both options, and we've just gotten back from a trip where the rain made it necessary to use the RTT a few times.
So, for me, I would get the trailer with RTT and still get a ground tent. Although ground tent is an extra cost, it doesn't compare to the cost of an RTT.
Have a look at my episode comparing RTT and ground tent.

Good day. Thank you so much for fantastic videos. Would we be able to go to more places wirh a 2013 Nissan x-trail 2.o l diesel?

An X-Trail should get you to almost any place you want to go that has a road. If it's the 4WD version then you should have no issues. We considered getting one before we got the Land Cruiser. I'm confident that a 4WD X-Trail would do the 4x4 routes in all national parks we have been to. The only hesitation would be soft sand like in some sections of the Namaqua national park, unless you have tyres that you can let down for driving in sand.

The X-Trail clearance is decent. In my view clearance is the number 1 requirement, before even 4WD. If you add 4WD and tyres then I can't see why you would have issues getting to almost anywhere that we have been to.

@@TravelGigolo Thank you so much for comming back to me.
Yes it is the 4 X 4 dci. The only problem with it is that it did not come out with diff lock.
After your reply I have a lot more confidence for going on some traveling. I looked at most of the x-trail videos from Australia and was very impressed with their 4 x 4 off road driving.
Thank you again and keep on posting the videos. God bless you

Really great video - hopefully we will be closer to going on our 1st camp 😟
Will definitely try out a camp with good amenities & close by.
Can you make a video on your process & purchase decision and process for your Land Cruiser. It may be a scary experience especially if someone wants to eventually buy a 2nd Hand 4x4.

Thanks. Glad you found the video informative. Hope you'll be doing that first camping trip soon! Would love to hear how it went.
Doing an episode on how we chose the Landcruiser could be an interesting one. Will be putting up an episode on the car itself soon, quite a few people have asked about the setup.

@@TravelGigolo Will def keep you posted.
I look forward to the setup video as well and if you plan to do future modifications as well.
A concern for 4x4 purchase would be the hammering it may have been through previously or engine challenges 🤔.
      Enjoy 😉
