    This was the most useful tutorial for this movement I've ever seen. I didn't get how should I align the lower part of the deck into that vertical position, but here it is clear that you do it with your ring finger. Thank you :)

      I agree with the original comment. You have an excellent , fun and soft way of explaining and demonstrating this tutorial. I hope you will show us more. You made a shy person that feels awkward to try something new feel welcome and accessible and relatively easy. Great Job!

  • @sedimental

    This thing is really hard to learn for a beginner, so if you're having troubles, practise a little bit every day to get your fingers used to the motion.

  • @michaelp1496

    Excellent tutorial. Best one I’ve seen so far for this cut. Love the slow steps and clear descriptions from different angles. So many guys go past a key step without breaking it down properly, saying “Do it just like this”.
    I seem to get a smoother and more stable rotation if I use my middle finger on the turn briefly before the ring finger takes over. It makes the transition through the dinosaur grip quicker and easier.
    Is it a mistake to learn it this way?
    Thanks. You have a new subscriber.

    BEGINNER'S TIP (Not mentioned in the video):
    I've been working on this cut. Today is my third day. I am having major difficulty getting the top pack to clear the bottom pack. Often I am throwing cards all over the counter top or the floor. It's because the grip is uncomfortable. My tip is first master the Charlier's cut of course, which should be obvious. After that, take two thin rubber bands (like the ones you get when you buy green onions) and secure two even packs, using the rubber bands. This will be like training wheels until you're used to completing the motions of the cut. Once you become comfortable and have created the muscle memory, remove the rubber bands. This is really working for me ao I thought I'd share for anybody who is attempting this for the firat time..☺

    This was useful to see the basic movement. But my hands are larger, which means the packets sit in two completely different positions. After the rotation, when my index finger is between the two packets about to drop the one behind the other, my index finger sits all the way out on the top edge of the card and blocks me from being able to drop the packet without a lot of repositioning. Which has nothing to do with your tutorial, but it just doesn't work for me.

    So that is why my revolution cut was looking odd. I forgot the pull my index finger down after the rotation. It was always sticking out high between the packs. I used to move it away from me to clear the packs instead of pulling it down. Thnx.

    My fingers are apparently too short for this. Not enough distance between my palm and fingertips to get the cards over the top over a perpendicular lower set, much less extra enough to grip the cards for a rotation. VERY SAD DAY.

  • @yiklongtay6029
    @yiklongtay6029 7 лет назад

    I have some problems with copying your initial use of the left hand ring finger and want to ask you for help. You used it to push the bottom packet until it stands parallel to the thumb. I can't do that because my thumbs are shorter than the card so it cannot remain contact with the top packet before it is supposed to rotate. I usually bring the ring finger around the bottom edge of the bottom packet to get the top packet to circumvent the issue. Is this "legal"?

    Ekaterina, you look to be rather tall. From your videos I suppose you must have long hands and fingers. My hand, e.g., is from the end of my wrist to the tip of my middle finger is about 7" 3/8. What about yours?
