  • Your eBay account health plays a huge roll in your items’ placement in Best Match search. You can be doing everything right (even promoting at a high level), if you have bad account health your sales will suffer. In this video I cover eBay’s Seller Standards Policy. Every seller on the platform needs to know these standards so that they can stay one step ahead of their competition who may not know about these rules that are in place.

    Ebay does not provide any seller protection. Not even the ability to put in a negative feedback for scammer buyers. This hurts all sellers.

      They do provide some seller protection. I know because I have benefited from it. ie. they gave me my money back once the item showed delivered in an item not received case. Seller protection kicks in on some chargeback cases you might lose.
      Only the veteran seekers from the old wild Wild West days will remember when negatives could be given to a buyer, many times it was retaliatory negative feedback and it was out of control. The sellers back then created the policy we see today.

      @@FlippinAintEasy Okay for an item not delivered case that is understandable. But there are numerous sellers who have received damaged items from buyers and buyers have gotten a full refund from ebay despite reporting the buyer. This has happened to me also and the buyer in this case has been reported by multiple sellers. If I had known through negative feedback from other sellers that this buyer is used to doing this scam, I would not have entertained them in my store. As regards old sellers creating this policy of not leaving negative feedback for buyers, I don't understand how they could have created this policy. Or if you mean that they were responsible for Ebay creating this policy.

    Defend and protect your account.
    Even things that appear trivial.
    Bad things can happen and multiply out of control.
    One of the easiest ones is to ship on time and verify the carrier scan for every package.
    Another easy one is to respond to return requests and the subsequent refund.
    There are some gray area issues, where there is not going to be a good outcome.
    When a buyer returns a "brick", you will have multiple choices to choose from.
    Reporting the buyer is a no brainer, but you are going to lose some money here.

    Great episode dude! Luckily I'm "Above Standard" with 0.00% defects/late/cases closed :) I see though on "Tracking uploaded on time and confirmed" it's just 60.87%, which is beyond my control, as I take the items to the post, but due to the war here in Ukraine, they often don't get the "in delivery" courier scan until they get on the truck to cross the border (all our items are airmail, but they fly out of Poland). Nothing we can do about it, but hopefully they know this!

    • @FlippinAintEasy

      Wow that’s rough. There are provisions for situations out of your control. Might be worth a call to the dispute dept to maybe get those removed.

      @@FlippinAintEasy Other than the late to ship, my account is very healthy, and thanks to ebay estimating longer times to deliver when the reality is that many things go from Ukraine to the states faster than some mail from SF to NYC (we regularly get 7-9 day delivers when ebay tells the buyer 30 days) we think it can't be affecting us too much. Ebay put on the shipping price view to buyers "This package may be delayed due to shipping carrier service disruptions." but we NEVER have delays!

    Hello! Question for anyone, when a buyer opens a dispute like item not received but tracking shows it delivered. I did reach out to the buyer and try to get them to contact their local USPS. Eventually eBay steps in at the end of the resolution period and sides in your favor and closing the dispute, does this have any negative effects on your account? I have heard that when eBay has to step in for the resolution it can/does, but I'd assume that is only when it is in a negative way(having to side with the buyer).

    • @FlippinAintEasy
      @FlippinAintEasy  4 месяца назад +2

      No, in fact when you get the email closing the case, they will tell you that the case was found in your favor and will not affect your account. So you are ok in this case.

    Question: I have over 100 books my brother left behind when he moved 6 years ago. They were all purchased/used for his two majors in college. Any idea what time of year most people buy books for upcoming semester at college? Do you think it will be towards the end of summer before most schools in the eastcoast start? So I can really push to try to sell them? Thanks!

    • @southernflips
      @southernflips 4 месяца назад +1

      I have no idea about selling the books but I have a son going into college in the south. All orientations are this week and next where they will pick schedules. End of July and beginning of August is move in. Everyone's classes start by mid August. So I would think getting the books up in July would be good.

    I'm top rated plus. Just received my first negative feedback due to a bad buyer demanding I ship a hat immediately I have 24 hour shipping. I blocked him canceled the transaction refunded him and he left negative feed back. Do you think I'll lose my top rated plus over the feed back?
