I remember you not enjoying Oud Ispahan glad you’re enjoying it now! I love Oud/Rose fragrances! Have you tried Bond No 9 Black Sapphire? One of the most animalic fragrances I have ever gotten my nose on!

I think this lady deserves some respect considering the fact she started her own house while she is related to the Guerlain family but was never accepted to be trained in the familly buisiness at that time because she is a woman. I really love her New York and the more recent New York intense.

I'd love to hear the comparison between Oud Ispahan , Oud Palao and Ombre Nomade. Also, have you tried Nouveau Monde? How would that compare to Ombre Nomade?
Oud palao is fantastic, get some lothur grooming shaving cream and splash called nahmka it’s based on oud palao and s perfect to shave with before spraying oud palao

My favorites for winter are Santal Royal, Majestic Woody Intense by Arabian Oud, Interlude man, Journey and Epic and l instant and CK Shock! Oops and Pegasus too ;)

I adore Santal Royale glad you do to. Interesting that you feel new LIDGE is still very good. I don't own this yet and won't pay silly money for old but was put off by others....thanks that's positive take on it. That snow looks amazing!

I am totally in the same camp as you when it comes to reformulations, 90% of the time its complete malarkey and blown waaay outa proportion. People should not let nonsense from people on the internet stop them from trying or buying a fragrance.

My rotation this week
I was just at saks today comparing oud ispahan, oud Palao, and ombré nomad. That’s so weird but great lol. I was so stuck because I have ombré nomad, and I love the other two but the rose is so much better in oud ispahan I find it. But the Louie and Dior seem somewhat close and I’m finding it to be redundant. But ombré nomad and oud rosewood both have oud and raspberry so I’m stuck trying to figure out if I should buy oud rosewood or oud ispahan. Which do you think is more different then ombré nomad Eugene? Also in America there’s a Black Friday deal spend 150 get a $75 gift card you can spend on December 14th. Not sure if they will have it in Canada. You can give them a call and see. Thanks again
One person says a fragrance has changed and it starts an avalanche with zero verified information that it has been reformulated, it just sets everyone in a frenzy for no reason.
My favourite of the week and one of the best discoveries I've made this year is ambre Ayanna by maison Incens. A stunning anamalic amber 😍

This week I've been blessed to be able to get my hands on some incredible Ouds... So I've been doing a lot of sampling as opposed to wearing... Spirit of Dubai Oud. Ensar Homeros. Walmah by Areej. And a few other gems. I did wear Santal Royal this week. One of my prized possessions. I dunno why but it speaks to me. Thanks Eugene ✌️
I really enjoyed wearing Amber Kiso this week. Leather, hinoki wood, maple, and incense. Good stuff. I also borrowed Rose 31 from a friend and lent him Musc Ravageur which he fell in love with.
Oud Ispahan is gorgeous, so is Oud Palao. I love them both but I don't have a full bottle of Oud Ispahan (yet). I haven't tried Ombre Nomade so I can't comment on that. And I agree, LIDGE is every bit as good today ;) And in the last week I've worn Gallagher's Behold, Patchouli a few times (love it) and Oud Palao (in the evenings as it's a little bit warmer here (New Zealand) now... true with L´Instant de Guerlain .... personally i rather wear EDT ´cause it´s calmer, more light, more anise/staranise lemon summer vibe in EDT than EDP
I picked up a bottle of Oud Palao earlier in the year during the warmer weather. Can't wait to wear the hell out of it now that it's getting cold!

Coincidentally, I happily sprayed my L'Instant Pour Homme (the latest edt) for work last week after seeing Sebastian's, Big Trail Designers...I LOVED it!..but,. apparently my friend Travis, who runs the warehouse DID NOT. He pulled no punches and said I "Reeked"...he is now a frag lover himself..loves Club de Nuit, Coromandel (on me..). hates Sauvage edt...Anyway... I later brought out the bottle to him in the front lot as he was in his forklift...Sprayed the cap, then sprayed his gigantic/tattooed forearm...he LIKED it !. BUT, it was "reeking" on me. scratching my head.. I thought I smelled awesome, as I do sweat at work with plenty of heavy lifting.

I've been wearing a lot of Sahara Noir from Tom Ford. I don't know why nobody talks about it. It's absolutely amazing.

@@usmellsgood smoke and resins. Perfect for fall. Kinda like a cross between Amber Absolute and filles en Aiguilles.
No one talks about it because it's easier to find a purple Unicorn.
@@tonyjemz777 I find that a little strange since it almost found me and I'm just a guy from the suburbs of Lisbon, Portugal. Not a reviewer, not even a collector, but a fragrance enthusiast. You see a bunch more reviews on things that are much more exclusive than this...the arrej and the Ensars of the world are way more difficult to find and yet you see reviews from those all over the place.

Fragrantica doesn’t list a civet note for Oud Ispahan but my bottle (2019) is super pissy on the dry down.
And how is the performance?
@@nhlanhlazondi8228 nuclear silage (could clear a room in the first few hours) but surprisingly poor longevity. I sold mine because I just couldn’t find many opportunities to wear it.

Santa Royal is very wearable and a compliment garner... our ispahan is beautiful but will not get the a compliment.
I enjoy LIDGE very much! Classic! Oud Ispahan is too fecal on me. Can’t push the trigger to buy a bottle
