Tyvek would work well on the center and you can cut it with a cutting machine. It is thin and flexible and can be colored. I buy large tyvek envelopes and take them apart so they lay flat and use them on my cutting machine. The material is thin and has to adhere to the mat really well to be cut. You will have to play around with the force and speed to find what works with tyvek. Thanks for the video
