Spring and Fall are the best times. The summer can be hot and tough to catch redfish.

The habitat up there looks absolutely amazing. Going to have to plan a trip with the fly rod.

hey i love going fishing there. I stay in Isle of Palms Wild Dunes every year and one year our charter captain cut his finger almost off, so he couldnt take us and a friend of his took us on the same kind of boat in the same spots and i caught three really nice sized redfish. Have you ever gone fishing at the breakwater rocks out in charleston captain blair? I hooked a real nice redfish that i caught and ate, a huge bass that broke the line next to our boat and a shark that bit through the line.

I always use SEAGUAR. 3 to 4 feet works fine.

Cpt. Blair I have a question. Do you use the seaguar leader on every rig? When you do use it how much do you put on the rig?

Derekio137, what pier and beaches do you fish? Moved here several months ago and looking for any info I can find.
    Thanks.

@shepsaballa Regular 1/8 oz D.O.A. jighead or a Lazer Sharp Swimbait hook for weedless situations.

I want to give a spot a try down there, how do you find the best spots, or know where to fish??

I always tell people to get up early and head to your fishing spot and watch and listen. You should hear activity, feeding fish, bait scatters. If not, move to a new location and repeat.
