    With repeated use; does the grinder “walk” at all on the counter top?
    Does the portafilter ever walk off the forks?
    Can you use a naked portafilter? If yes, does it ever walk off during grinding?
    How messy is it? Does it spit any grinds on the counter top? I notice you didn’t test that.
    Im not impressed with the fasteners (screws) used. Everyone could learn from the ECM espresso machines (all stainless metric Allen bolts of the same size. (No screws. No Philips heads …; especially that fork adjustment…)
    Does it fault at all ever ? Like no start; or not zero properly?
    If it does spit on the counter occasionally; could it be used with an attached magnetic style dosing funnel? Or it really doesn’t need it?
    Thanks for the introductory review!

    Drooling at these. Not having to weight before grinding is such a time saver. I have the mignon oro and I'm pretty happy with it but I'm considering replacing it. Initially I was considering the mignon zero but maybe I save more for one of these 😊

    Was looking at buying either the 65W or the 75W! Great professional video and right on time. These look build like a tank. I noticed that the speed and sound does not differ that much between the two. Amazing that you included those measurements.
    I only make 4-6 shots a day. Why should I upgrade to the 75W over the 65W?
    Does the bigger burr size really make a difference in the cup? Does it have a better flavour profile?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  4 месяца назад

      Hi there. I did not find any life-altering difference in the cup between these two grinders. The larger burr set is going to mostly just make a difference in grind speed and will also technically have a longer life span.

      I'd go with the W65 for home use. I just got the W75, and I think it's overkill. About 5 seconds for a 18.8g dose. I would think the W65 would also be faster than my Mazzer Mini E (12 seconds), and the shorter size of the W65 would actually fit under my kitchen cabinets.

    I like the noise of the Atoms a lot but one thing I am missing at this grinder is the possibility to fast switch between filter and espresso setting. With the Mahlkönig GBW I can just jump quickly between them but with Eureka I need to act like "5 turns right, 5 turns left" right?

    I was wondering for the distance between the upper and bottom part of the fork. Can the bottom part of the fork can be moved down for about 50 mm?
    I saw 4 phillips head screws in the middle of the fork. What's their purpose? Is it possible the top part of the fork to be moved up?

    Does it still jerk on the counter like some of the previous versions of the 75 or is it pretty stable? Also do you know if it’s the same hopper lid as the previous Atom 75? (There are some folks that make custom wood lids and wondering if they’re the same fit/size). Thanks!

    In a day and age where higher end grinders have tool-less access to the internals for cleaning, Eureka continues with it's three-different-tools requirement to do the same. The video doesn't even show cleaning access to the grind chute and de-clumper. While their grind by weight feature and grinding capability appear state of the art for the price range, these grinders fall behind the competition when you consider maintenance. And why is there no discussion in the video about the burrs?

    • @rohanlg790

      What about the burrs?

    • @speaknup8009
      @speaknup8009 4 месяца назад

      @@rohanlg790 Different burrs produce different flavour profiles and/or are better suited for different brew methods. (For example, what about pour overs?) Nothing was said in the video what the Eureka burrs offer. They also didn't indicate whether the burrs can be changed with different ones (I suspect not, but don't know for certain). Cheaper grinders than these Eurekas offer these features.

    I own a W 65. Nice grinder for demanding users, be it home-baristas or professional users. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to keep your counter clean. If you grind more than 15 grams, it will get messy. I bought the Eureka funnel but that one doesn't fit (too high). That's 37 euros down the drain. If someone has another solution, please let me know.

    • @Terexzes
      @Terexzes 4 месяца назад

      Like you I also grind more than 15 and there's lot of mess!
      BUT I have a solution for you to try:
      1)Take a dosing ring and put it on the portafilter after you insert it to the machine, put it on the other side of the portafilter and lift it up a bit so the grind can proccess while the ring sits there.
      2)Take a dosing ring and cut it in exactly half so it could attach to the second side of the portafilter
      3)Use a dosing cup
      4)Order from Etsy a ring and ask the supplier to create 50% dosing ring instead.

      I've been using my new W75 for a couple days, and I have almost zero mess. I grind to 18.8g, and it's not messy at all. Unfortunately the gbw feature is not very consistent so far, and I think the W65 is a better value for home use .
