In a way, joining Skirmish may have been more of a curse, rather than a blessing.. and I mean that in the best possible way.
Throughout the 2 years I have played BDO, I've never really considered myself a top player, or even a good player at that. In all the games I've known, 1v1 had always been the most effective and consistent method for improvement. If you wanted to be good, practicing 1v1s was something that was both necessary and sufficient. Yet, for one reason or another, I could never bring myself to enjoy dueling on BDO the same way that the best players did. I spent most of my time in the open world, but despite that, I've never gave up on one ideal: that PvP skill was what mattered the most. That regardless why a fight was lost - whether it's because of class, or numbers, or gear - that it could've been overcome by being more skilled, that there always was something I could've done differently, that somehow or some way, a "better player" would've won, had they been in the same position instead.
When Skirmish was born, it was the very embodiment of that "better player" given form. Skirmish was founded by many of the best players in the game, with the very same ideals that I've held on to. "Let your skill speak" they say.. And for a moment, I thought, that I would finally be justified. That Skirmish would be able to prove the ideals I've held on to was right all along. That if I was ever going to witness a guild win GvGs and NWs without outnumber, or outgear, or out stacking mainball classes, Skirmish would be the prime candidate.
But in the end, I guess my ideals were just that - ideals. Skirmish has come and gone now, but still, it's just another day. All the times I was zerged, all the people that tank full combos on the ground, all the guilds that stacked Witch and Wizards - I guess even with Skirmish, it was a losing fight after all. For a long time, I rebuffed the idea of getting more gear to win fights. I wanted to win because I played better, not because I dealt more damage or survived more attacks. Yet, knowing now that greater players than me have lost without gear or numbers, who am I to say I could do better?
Maybe the wisdom passed down from Vexis to General__Mors was true after all. As the saying goes: "Don't get good, get DP."

In your opinion which one is better atm at 1v1 or large scale pvps awk or succ ? Im playing succ for 7 months but im playing a private server and everyone endgear and im feeling like dmg is low than awk and i want playing awk. What tips can you give me ? Btw ur content is amazing Im big fan of you.
Well, on BDO NA succession is better for large scale and have more damage than awakening. I'm not sure why succession have less damage than awakening in your server, but you can always give it a try and see if you like it. For 1v1 I would say both succession and awakening are good.
everytime i see ur Content.. i'll be like : i want play in this Graphic lol , Nice and amazing always for ur Content

@@All_Luck_No_Skillz The fact that you can record in remastered without OBS stuttering is astonishing how is your GPU not at 100% constantly?
@@DailyFix21 who said it wasn't at 100%? xD
I'm thinking about starting on BDO. I already play ESO but this sick combat style the game has is smt I really wanna try. How much would it take for a casual player to get fairly ready for pvp in BDO ? I can't play it everyday and might be able to play for about 2 hours when I got some time left, sometimes more. How friendly is it for casual players ? I`m playing on PS4. Got a nice discount in the Black Friday.
First things first, BDO doesn't have crossplay, so the PlayStation and PC versions of the game will have completely seperate communities. So what I say will apply to the PC version, but I have no idea about the PlayStation version.
There are two ways to look at this really.
The optimistic way to look at it is that you'll always be fighting people around your gear, so there isn't really a concept of catching up. Each grind spot is only good for a range of gear score. People who severely outgear you don't really have any reason to fight you, so you'll probably never meet them unless they have beef with you or your guild specifically. So if you gear slowly then some people will get ahead of you and move away to a different spot, while others will catch up to you and you'll start fighting them instead. Even in Node War there are many guilds at different strengths, so you can always join a guild around your strength and fight other guild's your strength.
The pessimistic way to look at it is that the way BDO gear scales, you need to basically be within no more than 50 gear score (gs) of your opponent. A 50gs deficit is a severe disadvantage, but still winnable if you hard outplay them. Any bigger deficit than that becomes practically impossible to win unless your opponent is inting. The highest gear score in the game right now I believe is like 710gs. So you'd want at least 660gs just to be at a severe disadvantage. I would estimate that 660gs probably cost around 350b~. So even if you made around 200m per hour (which you need to be an endgame player to even make that much to begin with), it's still going to take you around 1,750 hour~. And you'll need even more than that to truly "catch up".
So it's up to you which interpretation you want to go with. Keep in mind however, that BDO has something called Seasons which you can play to try out the game before making a commitment. Every season will have special season servers that only season characters can play on, and the characters get special season gears. These servers are designed to help new players catch up, so it is very easy to reach max gear on season server. People I know who play around 5-10 hours a day managed to reach season gear cap in about 2 weeks. So if you make a season character and fight on the seasonal servers, it will all be relatively equal. Seasons restart once every 3 months. When the season ends, your character and gear will be transferred to the normal server. However, if you only care about PvP, you could in theory just restart on the next season instead of progressing your (now) normal character. But I don't know anyone who does that though personally.
@@All_Luck_No_Skillz thx a lot man. That was really informative. I agree with you. The game can be really fun to do stuff and "catch up" or can be a tiresome job if I focus only on reaching high GS.
I'll go slow and make good use of the seasons. Who knows... we might have a round or two someday lol.
Your videos are great. Keep on your amazing work. I bought BDO on a very good Black Friday sale on PS Store but was regretful and thought it was a waste of money but watching your videos made me want to really play the game.
Congrats and keep doing your thing.

Hello there, have you stopped playing awakening and changed to play succession now?
Tyvm ^^
Yes, I think awakening damage is too low in large scale right now considering how most of its attacks are unprotected. Maybe I'll revisit awakening again once BON skills come out.
@@All_Luck_No_Skillz Thank you for your reply, I can't wait for your next video sharing about your experience on playing succession
is this game worth playing after being a swordsman online player back in the good days. I want to get back into mmos.
Well, I can't just give a simple yes or no answer because I don't know what you would consider worth playing. Are you looking for a game that has identical combat to SMO? Or are there more specific things that you're looking for? Also, the answer kinda changes depending on whether you were an arena player or world player. SMO and BDO have some major differences in mechanics, at least from a 1v1 perspective:
- On SMO you can cancel any skill at anytime with block or dash, which means every skill is inherently unsafe, but you make them safe by cancelling at the right time. On BDO only a few classes can cancel their skills, and not all skills can be cancelled either. Instead, skills have built in protection on them in the form of Frontal Guard, Super Armor, and s.
- SMO combat has a much slower pacing, so there is a lot of emphasis on engaging your opponent, and reading them correctly in order to land your CC. On the other hand, BDO combat has a very fast pacing, where a lot of the times you may spam multiple CCs just to see if any one of them lands, or just chain multiple protected skills back to back as a general counter to CCs.
- SMO combat has a lot more of an RPS element to it (e.g. grab counters block, but is countered by counter-ready, which is countered by acupuncture, which is countered by block) so it's more picking the correct response to counter exactly what your opponent is doing. BDO combat tends to be more position oriented (e.g. Frontal Guard counters all non-grab CCs and damage coming from in front of you but not behind you, Super Armor counters all non-grab CCs in all directions but not damage, and counters everything period) so it's more about out maneuver your opponent in order to get behind their Frontal Guard, or grabbing their super armor, or CCing them during gaps in their protection.
- On SMO, only a handful of classes can combo someone to death from full hp off a single CC, while most classes need multiple CCs and combos. So fights often go back and forth, and someone can make a comeback off a sliver of HP. On BDO, every class can combo someone to death off a single CC, so you generally want to just straight up never get CC'd, and whoever gets the first CC is expected to win.
- On SMO, most of the damage comes from being combo'd while CC'd, but in return you can't heal any damage. On BDO, you can easily die from just taking too much chip damage without being in a CC, but you have health potions on a 2s cooldown.
- SMO combat have little to no RNG involved, while BDO combat have heavy RNG elements that both come from "CC Resist" - which offers a chance to ignore a CC entirely without any input from you - as well as various desync issues.
So in conclusion, if you're just looking for a game that's identical to SMO, then BDO isn't the one. But if you're just looking for something similar then it would depend on what exactly you're looking for, and what it is that you liked about SMO. Hope this helps.

[Ninja] Grave Keeper Clothes
do you still play BDO? would you recommend someone new to hop on around this time?
Unfortunately, I haven't really been playing BDO recently. The game used to have seasons, where it basically lets people create semi-fresh start characters, and PvP on a server where only other season characters are allowed to enter. They can then later graduate into standard characters and join to main server once the season ends. For some reason, they got rid of this mechanic. So at the moment I wouldn't really recommend the game for new players until they reintroduce this mechanic.
@@All_Luck_No_Skillz damn bro, are you done with the game?
@@eddieluong9956 For now yes. If they bring back seasons I may come back and play on the Seasonal servers.

Eallo, what is youre fps at o:
Around 200-230 idle in BA, 160-180 in 1v1/small skirmishes, 120-160 in medium GvGs, less than 70 in large fights like 100-man T4s. Also some areas like Bloodwolves I drop to around 140 FPS even in small fights, maybe because of poor optimization in the area.

The way I see it, choose Sorceress if you prefer a more patient playstyle, and choose Ninja if you prefer a more aggressive playstyle.

Unfortunately you are correct. The best you can do right now without spending a lot of money/grinding time is to just do T1 node war which is gear capped, and trial character battle arena.
