You are amazing mate ! You should start the tech21 tour with your band ! :D Tech21 Sansamp are the best preamp I have ever owned. Clean perfect signal, constant output level, no noise and a superior build quality. Cheers from Canada !
OK BUT NOW I WANNA KNOW THE EQ FOR “the dirtier sound”😂 I’d like to use a sound like thai to play rush songs! That pedal is a beast! Probably the best purchase I’ve ever done
Set the low at max Mid at 1 lower than max High 2 below max Now I use the sansamp YYZ pedal so I don’t know what’s in this pedal but once you have the high mid and low set than you can set the drive and stuff
Sounds like this pedal is pretty versatile. I'm looking for a warm-tube-Motownish sound more so than a straight out metal sound. Would this work as good or better than say a VT Di for achieving that type of sound? It does the SH sound great, but I'd like to be able to run it without the high clank too.
May I recommend the Sansamp Bass driver DI or the Sansamp Para Driver DI v2 (which I own). Both have a warm tube preset and also an upright preset that will delight you.
I have the SH1 and VT Bass. I think the VT Bass is probably better suited for dialing in a Motown sound. But you could do it on either unit. The SH1 has a Jameson setting in the manual but it isn’t very good, imo. I’d make my own setting instead. If you deactivate the Bite and Speaker Sim switches on the SH1, the EQ is fairly flat. So you should be able to dial in pretty much any sound without the Iron Maiden thing baked in. Once you activate the bite and speaker sim, it gets very Maiden. If you want speaker simulation and bite without the Maiden sound, the VT Bass is more neutral and, therefore, versatile.

Hello Tim I have some questions regarding Steve's rig. You guys claim that his rig has almost never changed and it has always been his Alectron Preamp. HOWEVER, I see tons of stuff claiming that he uses Orange amps, Trace Elliot, and I saw one dude saying he uses ashdown. From what I have seen he used the trace elliot in the 90s and now uses it as a backup to the main preamp. And obviously all the EV Marshall Cabs and DBX compressor haven't seemed to change. Is he now using orange stuff or what? Seeing all of the stuff about orange amps and ashdown and even now tech 21 confuses me about what he actually is using. Could you help me?
Steve has used several different amps over the years, mainly for the power section, and most recently Orange. The SH1 Signature SansAmp was designed for use with his other band, British Lion, that plays in smaller venues. However, the SH1 ended up being incorporated into the signal chain during the 2019 Iron Maiden tour.
No. The SH1 includes our proprietary SansAmp Tube amp emulation technology as well as speaker emulation. It is designed to be used directly into a mixer/recording interface as well as into a traditional bass amp, power amp and speaker etc.
damn i need this pedal. Is it possible to make it sound like the same style duff mckagan play too? steve harris and duff mckagan is my favorite bassplayers
"Oke Very Nice...

The SH-1 can get deep and groovy in a great way!

up the Irons!
Hi id like to know if the suggested settings are balanced in volume between them?
Hello! I set all the settings pretty close to unity gain as a rule. Also they are all pretty close as far as volume between them.
@@TimStarace thank for answer. Hope It was clear i meant the final exit volume. Not the knob number. Sorry i m not an expert at all. 🍺💪💓
Nice one
