However, I'm surprised that young man hasn't collected firewood or twigs, branches, anything to burn for himself. Surely when he goes to the dump he can find old wood or something to burn? Please Sergei post the video if he got such help.

In Germany, we have an Organisation that is called " Die Tafel" ( in english " The table"). It's a christian organisation who collects food from the supermarkets, which is not sold. They give it to poor people, pensioners, refugees et cetera. So no one of poor people has to grab food on the garbage.

I wish he’d go out and collect his own firewood so he can keep his house warm. It will make him feel 1000x better.
I never thought of that. Especially when he's not working. Wonder what he does all day? I would like to see Sergei question him. If I was freezing like that, I'd be out get firewood or anything that I could to put in that furnace. Even go to the church to ask for firewood or help. Doesn't make sense.
He probably needs an axe to chop firewood.
@@jenniferpower981 well he can get twigs, branches and other such things on the ground or, dead trees. There even looked like there was pieces of wood around the house. He could go to the church or neighbors to borrow an axe. I can tell you, I wouldn't be sitting on my butt freezing. I would be doing everything and anything to get that fire going. He's a young healthy man. I think of that young man Lasha? I think that's his name. He would be out and about getting firewood of any kind to get that fire going. He sure wouldn't be feeding the rats!
I was surprised he hadn't burned all the wood furniture in the house that wasn't being used!
@@yinyangforyou That light stuff is just tinder, for starting the fire, but old rotten fences make excellent firewood, with no chopping needed! And old walls from out of use outhouses. These villages full of abandoned houses have tons of both.
Your dad was just as thoughtful as you and Dima, I always enjoy seeing him help. I was also glad to see the groceries you got for the grandpa and grandma I remember them from the other video. So nice to see you don’t forget some of these people. Russian villages are just decaying away and so sad to see. Where do they go? They all die?
Yes, unfortunately the government doesn't care about small villages at all. It's a very very sad thing. The difference betweeen major cities and villages is enormous. I hope one day there will be some sort of village restoration program, but in these crazy times in Russia, probably not going to happen soon.

Look up the unemployment rate in Belarus. I think his family gave him money to help him leave because of other issues other than looking for work. He may have legal issues that he is escaping.
Something isn't right for sure. Why hasn't he gone to the church to even ask for firewood? Sergei would have found all that out. His dad was really awesome for just being thrown into this but, nobody can replace Sergei and his expertise.

Good video ,,these villages were so busy and great and good times in the Soviet communism times,,but change happens I guess,,its sad to see them disappear,,from 300 inhabitants to 18 ,,yet in the west we can't even afford to buy places like this ,,in the United Kingdom 50 ,60 years ago the villages were getting empty and unwanted,,now they are full again,,times change and one day the Russian villages may be full again .

It's true Aleksander, the villages are beautiful. It's a shame this lifestyle is dying. I presume that alcohol abuse is an after-effect of problems with village life.
