Happy to see RUclips showing this great content. Really appreciate the attention paid to the compositor in this one-- Lots of learning resources gloss over or ignore it, so it's a major blind spot for me.
Thanks a lot! this is a very well explained video . I was looking for something like this only. I wanted to learn how and when to use which shading properties.
I ran into a very odd glitch in Blender version 3.1.2, though I found a workaround. When I added the bump node to create the crater-like bumps, it did not seem to affect much of the normal map. It looked like the bump that was plugged directly into the Principled BSDF was overriding it much like what happens with a MixRGB node. If I lowered the strength of that bump node, the crater bumps showed up more. Anyway, I just swapped the order, had the bump node from the noise plug into the bump node that makes up the voronoi craters, and have the plug into the BSDF. That way it works.
I love this procedural videos, by any chance can you make a video on how to render animation smoothly and with high resolution and using post compositing in it too
Are you trying to make the background transparent? To do that, click on the Render Properties, Then open the film tab, and click on, Transparent. Hope this helps.
Totally very good video, alot to learn from your channel, you have very good talent. Im looking forward for more great more advance videos, good luck 🤞
@@RyanKingArt sorry not correcting you by any means, just leaving it in case someone in the comments could make use of it. Great tutorial! Got me started on making a material for a weapon I'm modeling.
This is the best tutorial on how to create lava. But Voronoi texture didn't work. Small holes do not appear. When using the Node Wrangler, the holes are visible. But they are not visible in the image.
Hi Ryan -- I noticed with this tut as well as another one (Dry Cracked Ground, I think) I can't reproduce the results when adding Bump nodes together (I'm using 3.0.0 Beta), especially when the strengths are both set to 1. I *can* reproduce both bumps combined if I reduce each strength to 0.5. Did the effect of adding these nodes change, do you know? Maybe some kind of saturation when the added strengths are > 1? Thanks in advance if you have any ideas!
Hmm, I downloaded Blender 3.0, and tried it out, and i isn't a problem for me. I also imported my Procedural material file into it, and it looks the same. So I don't know what the problem is.
@@RyanKingArt thanks for the reply and checking it out! It occurs to me that another major difference is that I'm using CPU rendering on AMD (iMac), so perhaps there's a clipping/whatever issue with lower-level routines. Not a huge issue, just something I noticed -- thanks again!
I'm using version 2.93.0, which is the same version as in this tutorial and getting the same issue. I also had the same issue with the cracked ground tutorial.
@@RyanKingArt No sorry um i mean like normally the lines in the shading panel that connects the nodes is normally curved , but yours are straight like they used to be, is it like a setting? So I mean like the lines that connect the nodes to sum it up.
@@TheRealElement Ooh! Yes, I know what you are talking about now. I should make a quick video on how to change that. But for now, here is a video that KevBinge made on it: ruclips.net/video/xb46BLx1uBA/видео.html Hope this helps.

Yooo Ryan that looks like a tiny planet in the thumbnail! Thats sooo cool dude! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Scott. Oh yeah, it does! Maybe it could be the planet Mustafar from Star wars. : )
Learnt a few new things especially in compositing. Time to play around with the settings. :)
Thanks for watching!
Superb. Many thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
you're welcome!
Amazing lava😅
Thanks!
That is just...GREAT ! Thanks !
Glad you like it!
Keep em coming mate, love anything procedural. You're doing some great work. Cheers!!
Thanks! I will keep making these Procedural tutorials. : )
not finished to watched it but I'll for sure replicate it, its awesome.
Thanks!
Great video! This is a very cool texture for my survival game where the lava can damage the player. Thanks Ryan :)
Very cool!

I get a lot of tutorial requests, but I will consider it. Thanks! 🙂
Nice video! I love this procedural material series you're doing! Any chance you could do a procedural snowy mountain material?
Thanks! Great tutorial idea. I will consider it.
and when you add hdr your BG is transparent or black
mine is showing hdr concrete how to fix this

Ctrl+J to add frame to selected nodes.

@@RyanKingArt Thanks, I will be waiting
Hi ryan how do you get straight node lines in 2.93 of blender
Do you mean like how do you make a striped texture? I would use the Wave texture for that.

I have a deep red filter that overlays my render.. Please help :(
Hmm, it might have something to do with the lighting. Other then that, I don't know why it would do that.
👍
Thanks!
Great tutorial! Do you have a Discord server?
Thank you! No, I don't have a Discord Server.
