Of all the Spyro games I ever played, the Legend of Spyro has gotta be the most epic series I ever witnessed in my life! The story was absolutely masterful, the graphics were just so smooth, and they even gave Sparx a very different personality that just makes the game series even greater! It’s crazy going back and watching this now I’m older and realising just how many famous people were in this trilogy. Elijah Wood as Spyro, Gary Oldman as Ignitus, David Spade as Sparx (at least in this one) Mark Hamil as Malefor and a few other famous names. I always joke that half of this games budget must’ve gone into hiring such a famous cast lol
The mushroom forest is simply unforgettable. If you look closely, they're actually bioluminescent. To add to that, the music and atmosphere are so calming. And the sunset and dynamic lighting of Sparx really help to capture the feeling.

I loved the character designs and how unique and "otherworldly" they can end up getting at times, really nails the fantasy tone the game wants to have, as well as the variety here, they are not really difficult most of the time, but they were nice to fight. I really loved the charm some characters had, Cynder was kind of a good villain, digged her voice and loved her design, really had some nice gothic aesthetic in it. I always thought that this generation of Spyro should have his own movies or TV Show cause all the potential of the batless and dark tone of the design and the writting that all of the three games of the Legend of Spyro have. I still dreaming about this happening. We will see.
There were plans for a movie adaptation but it never happened, supposedly because Activision wanted to avoid brand confusion with their (then) upcoming Skylanders series of games. Though the script was leaked a few months ago, and I've seen suggestions that the movie was cancelled because it was going to be terrible anyway.
I remember when I was younger I got a ps2 of my brothers friend with a shitload of random games like Tom Clancys splinter cell Simpson's hit and run and so on and this game I got addicted the second I came home from school I hoped on the game until 3 to 8 which was my bedtime back then great game i will never forget it
That's definitely intended by the developers. Being very thorough, I can regularly max out 7/8 attacks, but I'm pretty sure it's actually impossible to max everything out in one playthrough. There was one time it stopped giving me blue gems and I ended up exactly 1 gem short. I never managed to get so close again though.

I loved this game so much as a child wow. I'm 26 now 😭😭
Still looks good for its time💯
I always thought that this generation of Spyro should have his own movies or TV Show cause all the potential of the batless and dark tone of the design and the writting that all of the three games of the Legend of Spyro have.
Literally bought a ps2 just for this game and recently just got the hole trilogy.
Ngl I love this trilogy, even if it has its flaws, I appreciated playing them
I remember when I was younger I got a ps2 of my brothers friend with a shitload of random games like Tom Clancys splinter cell Simpson's hit and run and so on and this game I got addicted the second I came home from school I hoped on the game until 3 to 8 which was my bedtime back then great game i will never forget it
i’d love to see this come back
As a kid i was actually scared of this game.
Me too, I still played it tho but had a couple of nightmares about it haha
Oh my goodness what a Amazing Adventure story movie
All heroes have to start somewhere.
Once you mastered Earth, you were essentially God in the game
Only played the Nintendo DS version of this one but it’s a long time I dream playing this one to
Need to remaster the entire trilogy and improve the combat.
Spyro a hero’s tail was still fresh in my mind when I got this… total mood shift but certainly Not bad
Great video. Thank you
I was obsessed with this game when it came out. Sad there’s no way to stream/play on PS5 like you can with Sly Cooper 😢 Watching this will do!!!!❤
Anyone else from 2006 remember playing this game growing up
I had to play this game twice to max spyro's elemental powers out
That's definitely intended by the developers. Being very thorough, I can regularly max out 7/8 attacks, but I'm pretty sure it's actually impossible to max everything out in one playthrough. There was one time it stopped giving me blue gems and I ended up exactly 1 gem short. I never managed to get so close again though.
Nice that they made Diamond gems with echoing metallic sounds
They need to remaster these games
When I played through this game when I was like 7 or 8, my dumbass didn't know about the upgrade feature until my second playthrough of the game
I mostly enjoyed this Game, because I loved that David Spade voiced Sparx. !!!
