I lovevnew construction homes but don't love the cheap quality of some of the construction nor the HOA w its fees nor the boring cookie cutter communities with no mature trees. I hate geese, rattle snakes and alligators but love other wild life. You sound knowledgeable. How many clients do you currently have? Thank you for sharing this helpful info.

I totally get that! By the way, no rattlesnakes in SC, but we do have alligators and lots of geese. I typically work with a few dozen clients at a time. Thanks for watching and commenting!

We’re looking to relocate to the area from Texas( chasing grandkids) retired but are shocked at the prices of the older homes. Our interest rate is below 3%. Seems like the new construction town houses are lower prices than an 50 year old house. Why is that?
We’ve heard some area are crime ridden.any video of the better areas. Of course I guess you would have to be careful with how you rate an area. Just wondering
    Great video btw

Hello, thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video!
Regarding prices, it's really going to depend on the specific area. They vary dramatically. Sometimes an older single-family home in a desirable area will cost more than the new townhouse down the road in a different neighborhood. Townhouses of course cost less to build, you have a smaller yard (if any), and the amenities can vary dramatically. Also, towhouses usually have much higher monthly HOA fees, so you have to factor that into their overall cost vs. a neighborhood with a low HOA.
As you said, I really can't comment on crime and safety, as it goes against fair housing laws. Typically, I make videos of neighborhoods I like, if that's a clue! 😉

How does Wando / Cainhoy compare to north Mount Pleasant ? Do you think Wando /Cainhoy has an equal desirability and status level as north Mount Pleasant?

Wando & Cainhoy is still being developed, so there's not as much immediately there. There are some commercial areas that are expanding in Cainhoy, right outside Point Hope off Clements Ferry Road. Wando & Cainhoy are both in Berkeley County vs. Mt Pleasant is in Charleston County, so that may make a difference to some people as far as "desirability" (while others don't care at all). I think some people would argue that Mt Pleasant has a higher "status", but there are also amazing homes and communities in Wando (like Wando Village) and Cainhoy (like Beresford Creek), so it really just depends on personal preferences!
