Your dad and the choppers were a big part of my inspiration on getting into hot rods as a kid. Always thought they were the cool guys. I'm 31 now and have my own 32 roadster.
Awesome man!
Man I got into hotrods at 12 I'm 16 now and my dad and I are building a 32 Model A Ford Pickup
@@jacobbondy1767 that's awesome man. Model A quit production in 31. Either way, that's a great first project! Stick with it!
@@hotrodsneverdie oh my bad shes a model B. Att is a cool project she needs a lot of work though, but the goal is to have her running for next spring or summer, she hasn't been chopped and were not going to chop it, not to often you find a unchooped 32 and were going old school with a Flathead V8
THE ONLY THING MISSING HERE IS A BEER. I FEEL LIKE I WAS JUSTING HANGING IN THE BACK YARD WITH YOU GUYS AND BS'ING. COOL VIDEO. KEEP IT UP.
Got beer and music going in my garage..
4:18 - A podcast would be something I’d like to hear . I’ll be waiting for it Ben , I know your dad has some cool stories to tell .
We are looking into it...might be hard to get guests willing to come on the show with covid but we will keep everyone updated
@@FourSpeedFilms is there any word on this happening??
Any update? Would love to tune in.
Love the stories. No, it doesn’t even feel like a long video at all!
So awesome! I love the density of cool stuff packed in that small of a space. Nicely displayed!
Thanks! I think I subconsciously used your RUclips channel name as my title😂 Keep up the good vids...very interesting stuff
Wow, what a cool garage. I would love to decorate my space as well...
Thanks!
still the coolest garage ive been in, and your dad gotta be one of the coolest out there so much history and fun stories!
Thank God. I love this. 30 whole minutes of awesomeness
The Rod and Custom cover is awsome! I see the cover our 56 Chevy was on back in 1960!
9:19 I remeber that pic of your Dad as little kid with your grandparents .Down in New Zealand R&C was required reading every month !
Awesome garage and definitely would wanna see more of Bad News. That's my favorite hot rod.
That will be the next video!
So much cool stuff!!! Thanks for not cutting it short! Awesome video, can’t wait for the next one! 😎
I had a 25 tall when I first got married. I cut the turtle deck off and used a 32 trunk panel to fill the back and close in the cab and shortened a model t truck bed down for a t bucket look. Had to sell it when my second daughter was born. Really cool to see yours.
Bill Hines Signed Cigar!!!!That's Awesome...The ol ' LEAD SLINGER was My Hero!
More bad news videos would be awesome!!!
Soon!
Finding out that your dad is an old skate punk is pretty cool.
We have the same blue cabinet that the grinder is on .I think we got it at a yard sale
Ur dad is a kool guy and to see old art and the history is amazing. I absolutely love it. I would love to see a build serious on "bad news"
Been watching Lotta Fatal California Accidents on ONSCENE youtube. Please Drive Carefully watch the speed in that Sweet Mustang.
Nice garage! I like the 60's touch on the door.
I hope I'll have the same relationship with my son when he will be older!
Oh, and long video are great, keep doing it.
I made it to the end. I really enjoyed your dad's stories. As it seems that we are around the same age. I'm also a model car builder. So I caught a few things that are important items in our hobby. Like the Black Widow kit. Also, this was the perfect video for inspiration this morning as I am planning on this day to be my garage organizing day. I want mine to be right for my projects and my channel.
Your channel is very impressive and one of my top 10 channels that inspires me. You have got to get your dad in more episodes.
I know you love your mustang I had 2myself but you need a hot rod and join the choppers 👍🏻😃
i need the green bike 2nd to the right on the floor from the far left -that was my first bike please will it to me .......................
I definitely enjoyed the full length with all the cool stories! It’s amazing how you can remember where you got everything. It’s true. Bad News fix up episodes? Yes Yes Yes!!!
I remember seeing Bad News being built on an episode of Rides. Windshield no shorter than a dollar biil
Um, I have an idea if you need more room. Sell a couple bike's. And I would buy at least one of them. Lol. I grew up in the sixties and always wished had one. Dad always got the less expensive bikes. Cool video!
Haha! Awesome
Great video!!! You forgot to mention the garage itself......it must be from 40s? Love the wood rafters, dont see that much anymore.
Just now found your channel. Really enjoyed your video and your garage and seeing a son so into his dad and what his dad is into. You guys have a great great relationship from what I can see cherish it. I will subscribe and watch all your videos.
Definitely want to see more on Bad News. Actually still waiting for more on the Deuce Coupe too! I remember the video from last year? when you first showed it. Also the long form is great, you do great work with your videos but usually I want to see more. Thanks!
Thank you for showing us your garage. I just dig stuff like this. Probably because my father never cleaned up his, so I always had to work outside, pay someone to rip me off fixing something, or pass on an entire project priced to sell. Now I inherited the garage and the tools scattered around. At the beginning of the pandemic I also got a free living room set that is taking up space next to the snowblower I landed cheap.
My goal is to clear out space, organize (while I hit up old estate sales and flea markets for more tools that were built back in the day to last, not the newer stuff made next to where Mall Wart gets its house brand), install old gas station cabinets I got from a garage I cleaned out for an old friend who didn't want 'em, and put up some shelves to house my collections. I never really "collect", I just buy what's too cheap to pass up and suddenly I have another collection :)
Then I'll paint some "petrolina" signs on the remaining wall space, I hope some of those Day Glo poster paints may give me a kind of "neon" look with the industrial lights I want to wire in--that will require some experimenting. But it will be all worth it to finally have a climate-controlled space I can work in day and night.
Keep rockin', guys.
lets see the bad news video. i got the dvd series rides with the episode when they built bad news its one of my favorites
Good to see that your family is doing well! Shout out to your dad! I love the video, lots of cool stuff. The garage door in really cool. I cant wait to see you guys work on Bad News. Its weird that I had a 28 chevy (rat rod) when I first saw the Rides episode and now that I watch your channel I have a 67 cougar (muscle car). You guys work well together and you guys should do a podcast. Good Job Ben!
Best part of your dad's stuff, he doesn't have a boring orange lump in his rides, Nailheads and Oldsmobiles, all he needs is an earlyish Pontiac to round it out... but that would mean more stuff laying around. Most of my shop is taken up with parts, engines, and transmissions, I've lost a ton of stuff over the years.
I saw your dad on tv like 20 years ago when they built "bad news" and it legit changed my life.
awesome garage man, love the old stuff that is in it. I collect many emblems, and signs and stuff from 60s 70s 80s so my workshop s kinda the same in a way, stuffed with cool stuff and no space for actual working :D
Would love to see a pod cast! Also love the longer video
Man! I was just thinking 2 days ago, when's Ben gonna post a new video?Cool! Let's see a "Bad News" video!
Scallops aren't 80,s silly. Lol
I've seen a lot of garages on RUclips and tv, this has got to be one of my favorite! The memorabilia, history and cool cars are what I live for! I love cars and all that goes with them!! New subscriber here.👍✌🇨🇦
Lets please get a video on Bad News!!!!!
Hell yes a video on "Bad News" i remember watching the documentary of your dads club build it back in the day. I'm running a 53 olds that was built in the early 60's in my model A coupe.
I do remember that TV show as well, think it was on Discovery Channel and it was called "Rides". It was cool.
Sweet garage lots of really cool stuff and always like hearing your Dad’s stories...awesome video as always Ben 👍🏻
Bad news video would be great!
Getting me motivated to get my garage useable again. Funny how stuff expands to fill space available when you not looking.
I love the auto world sticker on the tool box!
Now this is how a garage is supposed to look like! Thanks for taking the time to share all those stories, really interesting!
Your dad is an inspiration to many people! (I'm included!) Thanks for sharing and keep on filming!! Gretings from Argentina
Awesome! Thank you!
It feels like a long video in a very good way, keep up the great videos man.
Really cool. I have always liked the custom cars that Lenny Byer built.
What tail lights are on bad news, been a million years since I watched the build on tv
They are 1942, 1946-48 Buick
Derons scratch about Pratt's '40 mill for 800 beans is golden. Thanks for the tour, and making twenty a Lil bit better.
Wonder if the burbank choppers are still around? I wish someone would make a video of sandy wachs 56 ford pickup, that thing was sweet
You need a bigger garage.
Long format is way cooler...just saying. I like the interview stuff.
Crazy how each thing in your garage has a cool story behind it! Definitely have an awesome set up there guys! Cool video, watched it all the way through 👍🏼
Thanks man! I appreciate it
Very cool Ben and Aaron!! Great job on the garage too. I remember how packed it was when we visited lol! Looking forward to coming back!...
your dad made it mate
I just stumbled on this channel and I must say that this garage tour was a real treat. Your dad is one cool dude and so is your Grandfather...his cars are great too. Super to see California Car Kulture passed-down through 3 generations.
Back in the 90's, I daily drove my ratty old 59' GMC 100, 57' Packard Clipper and even had 62' Olds Cutlass coupe. The Packard was gloss black with those awesome batwing tail light and moon eyes hubcaps...found it in some lady's back yard one day looking over fences, with a bunch of Gophers living in it...payed $500, managed to get it running and drove it for 4 years...that thing was a reliable surf machine. I'm feeling inspired by your videos...time to find another old car...maybe something that runs this time ;p. Thanks for the uploads!
FANTASTIC VID GUYS......ALL THE BEST FROM ENGLAND U.K. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great video, loved it! Your family tree is just loaded with hot rodders. All three cars are great, but I like 'Bad News' the best. The bikes are great too, the Stingrays came out when I was in my early teens. Had a choice between a Stingray and a Schwinn 5 speed 'racer-type', and took the racer. :-( Just one question - how do y'all keep all the collectibles clean while you are working in the garage (grinding, welding, painting, etc)?
Great Video, Buddy. Keep em coming. It's great hearing the stories and history that goes along with Hot Rodding. Thanks heaps.
I just love this video. It just makes me think about the future.
Really love the garage, its not just a garage its an awesome garage. Cool
Great film loved seeing bad news again. The first thing I ever made was a skateboard back in the 70's. I've made things ever since. Keep on building.
I absolutely loved hearing what your dad had to say about his collection. I could listen to him for days man. Your very blessed to have a badass hotrodding father dude. Id kill to have a father who has such passion for old time hotrodding and memorabilia. More vids like this one would be rad.
Your Dad is a very interesting Guy, treasure your time with him and take the time to learn from his wealth of knowledge of the car hobby.
Awesome video man I love the long format. Can’t wait to see bad news finished!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Was that bug in Hot VW's back in the day? If so, I think I still have the issue.
yes it was in the late 80s
@@aaronkahan6188 Sounds about right. I bought my first VW magazine in '87. Good to see it's still alive.
70s my first skateboard was in 1960. I used to use it to go home from highschool in 1963 on my skateboard. I was in the senior play, it was easier than calling my parents after practice. Then I got my first car.
My Uncle drove "Bad News Coupe" AA/FA ..cool garage stuff.
Excellent video and so cool to see you sharing a passion with your dad! Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Back in the day 1964 had a purple
Stingray, & my brother had a green
One, PATS BICYCLE SHOP ,
MESA ARIZONA LIVED IN RAY ARIZONA
Oh man, i realy like those videos with your Old Man! Always fun to watch!
So Im probably maybe 10 years older than your dad. I found your Mustang video where you went over your new exhaust. I was impressed that a young guy was into the old muscle car scene. Nice Mustang. Then I saw the vid of the other guys Camaro with the roll cage... And Im thinking these guys are coming up the same way I did as a teen in the early 70's. I saw the old school stuff sitting in the garage in some of the vids and I was thinking your dad was into it. Now I see where you got it from. But it warms my heart to see young guys keeping it alive.
I was trying to get my son set up with a Harley after college. We were just ready to put money on a Sportster when he got a job offer in NYC. He went off to live in Williamsburg and Bed Sti and met a hippie girl... Now they are out in Portland and hes more likely to be into an electric vehicle than anything with a V-8 and a stick.
My first car was Galaxy 500 with a 390, I had a 63 Buick Riviera... A few 60's Vetts including a 69, 427 convertible... One car I wish I had back was the 72 GTO.
My wifes commuter now is a Camaro SS convertible... I dont knopw what Im going to do when they force the EV's on us but Im not going to be happy.
I subscribed so keep up the good vids...
You're dad sure is an outstanding hotrodder.
The garage is cool as shit! Relish the time with your father! Mine was my best friend!!! Rest in peace pops....... anyone remember the amflex skateboard or California slolam trux? Lol. That's a board I got for my bday in like 1980? Lol an aluminum skateboard!
Fantastic, your Dad is a little older than me (72) but I sure can relate to the skating back in the '80s. We had this American friend come over to Sydney Australia and gave me a skateboard which was called an Ozzy. It had gull-wing pro 4 trucks and Nachi bearings. Man, that thing was scary fast. Couldn't ride half or quarter pipe with it but it used to beat everyone down the hill
Liked and subbed! Great vid! Grew up in Philly and my favorite summer nights were spent down behind the airport going to the underground drag races. Those nights made me a car and motorcycle guy. Now living in washington state after flying recon planes for the Navy but the passion for cars and bikes never left. My shop is a timestamp of Americana just like yours but I'm always adding more. Not a hoarder lol. It's great that you're sharing the love of this culture with your son. Keep it going. Bitchin vid guys!
Your videos are getting better and better and I enjoyed every second of this.
THANKS a LOT (especially in these times). And I now have a serious case of Garage-Envy (if this word exists).
Cheers from Germany and stay safe
Your Father, Daddy O, Man of the House, El Sinore, Pop, Sir,
and Yes Sir, is pretty friggin' Cool, and you too. It's neat that he kept all of his memories and also cool that you love his stuff and learning about that growing up. Keep it Chill Bro's.
My dad bought me a brand new Sting Ray back in 1974
Your Dad is cool and have a really interesting garage, clean and organized in a way that can tell a "history" on your Dad,every zone can represent a years.... 70' 80' 90' 00' ,2010...oh yep and have a marvelous Hot Rods.
I am going through this very thing with my late dad's garage. He was born and raised in Burbank, but garage im speaking of is in Fresno. The history on the walls alone is insane. Burbank was a small community back in the 40s and 50s. Dad was a member of Road Kings. Did many a race down in the l.a. river.Im wondering if my dad knew your grandpa. My dad passed away at 80, 2 years ago. Last 2 cars he has are a 32 roadster and a 32 3 window coupe Henry Ford body.
This is amazing. I am 17, also collect old car parts, schwinn biked and I have a 1974 beetle I'm building into a drag car right now with a front engine small block 350. This is awesome
Your Dad owns & built "Bad News"?!?!? His car club was featured on an episode of Rides. That is my favorite episode! If lit a fire for me to built a car too. Thanks for sharing!
Nice garage buddy. I love collecting old tools and tool boxes. Keep up the good work.
You’ve really got something good going! I would like to make a suggestion, since your Dad is a Schwinn collector and very knowledgeable, you should do more content on Schwinns and muscle bikes. There is a huge genre that is growing but there is no really good videos / channels on the subject. It could be very lucrative!
Hey ,Dad and son happy as hell I found this loved it dad , i wanted a Schwann Stingray in 1965 I was 12 and my cheap old man got me a ugly Roadmaster instead but miss him and my Road master bike but what a awesome video ,keep it up for a new watcher of your RUclips vids
Watch from Darmstadt in Germany!
Great video and great stuff in your garage. Be happy to have your cars at your house. I have to drive 20 miles from home, to fire up my '62 Galaxie cause all our German garages are to small for the big things.
Cheers schniggi
I know that old car, Bad news, very well.
And I know it’s story well. Never thought I would see that again.
So what was thing that I was most concerned with them chopping it? ...getting that color right from the old faded spray paint. (And it looks like the did it pretty well.
Hats off 2 you both, this is always what I've said........if you can't pass your horde or collection to your son or daughter, it will be sold off and some stranger gets rich! All the time and money invested cannot be taken to the grave. That's why you have to have a relationship with your kids!
Pretty cool memorabilia you guys have 👌
This video is really special, i´ve lost my dad 5 years ago and now i remember that me and my brother were also asking him about his youth. Its funny that we did some of the same stuff when we were younger.
It´s really important to apreciate your`e past and honor your parrents and there past because it is in a way also a part of your past.
Keep up the ggod work, i really love youre hot rod movies.
Happy Holidays.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
No evidence of hoarding to me. Everything in that garage is desirable and would be easy to find a buyer for them. Hoarders just "accumulate" like the friend said. I can't get enough of your vids that talk a walk backward.
Very cool Man Cave Garage video. Great stuff. Great job. Yup, it's an upside down world.
Hey, stumbled on your channel on the patina video. I like it, subscribed!! Good content, you guys seem like a neighbor I'd stop by and chat with over a beer. Keep it up!
I loved this video. It was so natural and unpretentious. Your Dad is a big kid. Stingray bikes and skate boards. I would have liked to hear what your Mom thinks about all this. Oh I guess I don't want to start any domestic trouble. You and your dad have a great realationship. Treasure it. Wishing you and your Dad the best.
Subscribed! Your pops has a lot of cool stuff, I give people tours if my garage and also have a few old bikes. Every item saved has a piece of history and story behind it. It has to be shared with anyone coming to the garage! Great content, keep it up!
I always loved the bad news T, if your Dads friend Coop is the artist Im thinking of, The Phantom Blue album cover for built to perform is great!
Great to see this, there is a lot of History in that garage! Nice to see you and your Dad keeping it alive!👍🏻
