Lamson Liquid S announced today! Would love to see a review on it, though I just bought the on-sale Remix on the weekend ;)

Still got my Lamson Liquid 3.5 for years. I just used it yesterday saltwater. Still works like a charm. Well maintained and serviced/soaked after each session. The drag can be sticky at times but it doesn't bother me. Adjust the drag to full then back it off. Problem solved.

Ive got 3 remix kits. They all work very well. I love my 7 HD! I tried a couple of the Liquids and didn't care for how ill the foot fit.
The new S series looks like a winner. Arbors look a bit larger.

Great review Nic…I see the Liquid and the Remix are on sale everywhere i can only assume they are going to release a new line.

Yep, they are releasing the new series very soon. I called Lamson the other day about it. Solid reels for the money.

Awesome reel for the money. I’ve enjoyed owning one.

I had a Liquid, 8 weight size, for very a short time; the drag was sticky on startup and the stickiness became more pronounced as the drag was increased. To the extent an 8 weight is a line size where the drag may be an important component of the reel, the reel went away quickly.
A big difference between the Liquid and rhe Remix is the reel foot. The Liquid’s reel foot is part of the frame, the Remix has a replaceable reel foot. The aluminum material used in forming cast reels is brittle. Drop the Liquid on its reel foot, and that foot will snap. I have a couple of cast reels with non-replaceable cracked/broken reel feet, and those reels are not useable and are parts reels.
Maybe I had a Liquid that was made at the end of the day on a Friday, because other Liquids and Remixes I have seen had smooth drags. These reels offered by Lamson seem like a tremendous value, but I’m hesitant to pick one up; once bitten twice shy,

Lamson has discontinued the Lightspeed. I purchased the last 11+ G5 reel. They are revising the reel line and are selling all of the existing inventory. I also have a Remix 1.5 for 4weight lines. My local fly shop hinted at it.

When did Lamson discontinue the Litespeed? Perhaps the traditional Litespeed design, but there are plenty of newly-designed Litespeed reels. I was just at a fly fishing show this past weekend and the Lamson rep had plenty of new-model Litespeed reels on hand. I was amazed at the gigantic soool diameter. Pretty cutting edge stuff.

The G5 series of Lamson Lightspeed reels have been discontinued. Lamson has released the updates (new) Lightspeed reels series which have a different spool and frame design from the Light speed IV and G5.
      I have the 11+ G5.

Caught 1000s trout. Some very large, 12 pounds. I’ve never used drag. Ever.
