For a bit of context, this video was recorded before the terminal opened, and we were invited by the team to have an early look, so the full experience wasn't quite there yet.
We'll definitely be going back as a passenger to do a review in the future!
You guys certainly scrub up well, you were hardly recognisable.
Do you know, if you travel to the airport by train, have Aether got a shuttle service to their terminal please?
I have contacted Aether previously, but they haven't bothered answering.
imagine pulling up to your Ryanair flight to Dublin with a chauffeur service
Guys, much as I love you I suspect you are not being 100% up front here. Forgive me please if I'm wrong but this had the sound, look and feel of a paid promotional video not an honest review. If that is the case, I have no problem with it just as long as you're clear about it.
It's not a paid video, but to be fair we should have mentioned that we got invited before the terminal opened, so obviously the full experience wasn't available, so we just said what we seen 😁
I'll make a pinned comment, seems a few people are confused
We'll probably do a full review as a passenger in the future!
Looking smart lads - thanks for showing us around. I was desperate to have a nosey what it looked like inside and what a view for spotting 😍😍😍😍
Seriously considering travelling like this through Manchester in the future! 🎉❤ amazing vid guys!!
We plan to give the passenger experience a go too! Keep an eye open for a future video! Thanks for watching :)
Honestly the reactions from commenters here is utterly bizarre. Firstly this video says it is an early look, not a review. Secondly people are making claims about what the terminal offers which are totally nonsense. Just google them and read their website.
But most of all, chill out.
From their web site: Price from £90 pp
Suitable for guests wishing to travel quickly to their gate, this package does not include any of the additional aether experience.
Depart only
Suitable for cabin bags only
Access to aether terminal private security
Chauffeur-driven car to gate
Arrive up to 75 mins before departure or from 4am
Must arrive at least 60 mins before departure
Wow the view of the planes is
Yes the views are great!!
looks amazing
Yeah great views in there Lee! Perfect for one more plane 😂
I am impressed - thank you for sharing this
Thanks a lot glad you enjoyed our look around :) it was good fun
Really on to something with the NTGs. What a great idea!
you both look very smart gents
No checked baggage available on the website, prices start at £180 for access 1 hour before your flight, rising to £300 for access 3 hours before. (mid Sept, 2025) Hand luggage only. Perfect for wealthy business travellers on short trips, but definitely not for average Joe on his £20 flight to Dublin for the weekend.
Where did you read they, they have a checked baggage option?
Price from £170 pp
Suitable for guests wishing to experience the full aether offering before they fly. Guests will have access to all amenities within the Private Terminal and can use this service if they’re flying with checked bags.
So yes you can get checked bags?
@@Mick-f4e I looked at a specific date in September for a Jet2 flight. Checked baggage wasn't available and those are the prices offered. I assumed it was because Jet2 do their own baggage handling. I didn't check other dates or airlines, but even so, I don't think the 1903 or Escape lounges are worth the £40-80 they charge.
A plane spotters paradise! 🛫
Absolutely! The views are amazing
@@AirlinersLiveIndeed!
Andy, the suit was causing my screen to have the Doppler effect, was as loud as a 737-200 on take off😂
So how does it work? Do you still have to turn up at the main airport buildings to get to this terminal? If so, how do you get from there to Aether? And how / where do you check in for your flight?
Does the aether car take you direct to your 'plane from the Aether terminal?
Yeah. A lot of unanswered questions, including how much does it cost.
@alanalderson1427 it's all there website, but the Express package (just a backpack and no extras) is £90, inclusive packages: a cabin bag with inclusive meal and drinks is £150 & if you have checked bags also that need dealing with it's £170 per person.
You'll have to pay the airline fee for the he bags tho as this just a handling fee for them to take it and check it for you 😂
You meet them at there meet and greet point and they take you to the private terminal
@@alanalderson1427 Google?
Great video, loved it , great info, loved the beemer
So nice. ❤
If they think they’ve come up with a new concept, they haven’t.
Manchester Airport used to have some really nice restaurants shops and comfortable seating for everybody up until the mid 90s.
Not only that your families members who were not traveling could join you in the restaurants and have a meal with you and watch the planes takeoff before you went through security and departed. You didn’t even have to be flying anywhere. You could just turn up at the airport and go to one of the restaurants for a night out and see the planes taking off on landing as you at your meal.
Then somebody had a knock on the head and decided to get rid of all that and leave us with the pile of S… we have got to suffer with today.
For me to even think about paying for this service, I would expect to see more than just a cup of coffee.
For example, I would expect a proper meal to be able to be served to my table along with desserts.
And some decent comfy chairs with good back support. Rather than the modern stuff that we have today.
I remember those days where you could wander around in T1 and watch the planes but 9/11 pretty much ended that.
More from this service than a cup of coffee? Oh like the private dinning it offers....This is an early look as they say in the video. a 30 second google will show you that 90% of what you said they don't have, they do......
Yep, back in the late 70s early 80s my parents would take me to Manchester airport in the evenings for a meal and to watch the aircraft. Most of the Terminal was open to non flying guests and there were several places to shop, eat & drink with great close up views of the aircraft from the windows between piers A & B.
The airport was a much nicer place back then.... even the parking was affordable ;-)
But times change, and business models have moved on. I just count myself fortunate to have had the chance to experience the old manchester airport.
@ trying to find your way around the road network at Manchester Airport is ridiculously hard. You can get lost in there for days. And the silly thing is this place they’re talking about is on the other side of the airfield. You’ve gotta keep jogging down the motorway to the next junction and then try and find this country road towards the viewing park which if you don’t know the area very well could be easily missed and then you’ve got a nice journey under the airport tunnels down to the roundabout to come all the way back up Wilmslow Road still trying to find this little country road.
Then, when you get there. Hello sir, what terminal are you leaving from? Terminal 3. so then they’ve got to drive you all the way over the other side of the airfield again. And before they say oh but you get see all the planes around the airfield. I’ve had that experience at Manchester Airport thank you very much. And I do not want that experience ever again. I was in terminal one and I had to offload myself from a flight because I wasn’t feeling well. And rather than just letting me through a door that would allow me to go back the way I came and leave the airport and go home. They left me waiting for two hours only to then stick me on a bus and take me on the longest drive ever around the airfield to terminal two arrivals hall. Where they then let me leave the airport and go home.
All I want as a passenger is just a turn up at the airport nice and easy. Get myself checked in. Get through security nice and easy. Find a nice bar or restaurant where I can sit down and have a decent meal. Like a 10 ounce steak or something, which is what I had in Vancouver (beautiful airport by the way, nice and spacious with lots of lovely shops and nice restaurants). Then get my flight and go off on holiday. I do not want to have to find my way through a stupid duty-free shop just to get to my plane. Certainly don’t want to have to go all the way across the other side of the airfield just to sit and look at planes with a cup of coffee and a croissant in my hand.
That being said, I have travelled through terminal 2 recently at Manchester Airport. And I’m liking the improvements. But there is a hell of a lot of work to do to improve passenger comfort and the infrastructure around the airport.
Can’t wait to see a review from when it opens properly. I hope it does better than its previous owner. Ignore the stupid comments on here chaps. Makes me wonder if they are true AL fans
Seating looks like it's straight out of a 1970 factory staff canteen.
We didn't see a blue plastic chair anywhere
Not quite new is it? Just operated by someone who’s not Premiair. Also should have been built 50 ft further back.
How much dose it cost
Very nice 🎉🎉
Wasn't this terminal originally for long haul flights and to be dropped off at the planes stairs by car, obviously that didn't work!!!
This video had so much potential and it fell way short of what we know and love from Airliners Live.
I feel it was left out intentionally, but this feels like a very paid for promotion, which is fine, but I’d completely pull this video and redo it, even if that means going back to film again.
So much information missing.
Did you miss the early look part?
We were invited for a guided tour around before the terminal was open. We do plan on returning for a visit as a passenger, to experience the package. This video is our initial thoughts after an enjoyable visit to show our viewers what is going on inside the building we see every week. This is not supposed to be an in depth review
Impossible to deal with , I enquired about there service and parking charges , got referred to another email/ site to work out the parking , ye know what forget it , booked my own parking and lounge in the traditional way , I just can’t be bothered with the messing .
Fabulous. How much?
Prices start from £90per person I believe, all info on their website
i bet i wont be aloud in
Its useless to anyone going on holiday if they have a 23kg suitcase waste of money
But its not aimed at those people......AND you can check bags, so what are you on about?
We're do you check bags into defo not there so you would have to go to one of the other terminals they only allow carry on having said that Manchester Airport is a disgrace as I found out when I was there in october
@@edwardbellamy5154that is not correct. With partnered Airlines they will handle your check in baggage here at the terminal
Rip off Manchester Airport yet again
Sounds like Genshin Impact.
Nice shame about the rest of the airport which is shocking 😑
