- Bristol in the southwest of England known for its maritime history. The city was a starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World.
On this tour we explore the nicely walkable centre. We start at the St James' Priory which is near the Bristol Coach Station. Quickly we go to the shopping area Broadmead where we check several shopping streets and also The Bearpit city park.
We head south to the Castle Park and cross the Castle bridge and get back to the old city. There it's a bit quieter this afternoon as most of the action happens at the former city-centre port, the Harbourside. The old harbour's warehouses now contain restaurants, shops.
The riverside stroll continues for a while. We follow the feeder canal and the River Avon. It's a relaxing weekend atmosphere with people and families walking around. We enjoy the path for a little while longer, pass the Brunel's SS Great Britain and finish our tour near the Bristol Marina and rowing club.
Another tour of Bristol starts at the Millenium Square and walks back to the city center: • Walking in BRISTOL / E...
Note: I missed catching Banksy's "The Girl With Pearl Earring" on video on a wall near the marina though took a photo after when walking back. It's coming sometime to the website. A second tour walking back from Millenium square will be on the channel at some point

I miss Bristol so much!! so friendly and lovely people, being a foreign student there was fun and people always very welcoming, one of my favorite cities for sure!
Bristol, born and bred.
Many people come to visit and end up staying
I am from the capital of Wales Cardiff, which is a beautiful city but I must admit Bristol has such a different energy and is so much more hip and happening. It just has a certain feel about it which makes it a wonderful city to visit.... I refer to it as a little miniature London such a great place to visit. Cheers Ashley
Bristol is a great city, I have lived here for 14 years. Please don’t compare it with London, it is absolutely nothing like a London, thankfully. Peace.
It’s not the same I live there use to live in wales Newport it’s turned into shit wouldn’t recommend coming
@Worldwide Wanderer My comment was about comparing London to Bristol , and saying Bristol is like a mini London, this shows the person who wrote it knows nothing about Bristol. They are totally different. I avoid London whenever possible, my taste, my choice. If you love London, good for you.
@@johnstaymose6604 Newport used to be OK years ago but now the place has gone to the dogs!
Bristol England 🏴❤️
Yesss! I live in Bristol and it’s such a lovely place 💞

It brings back my memory
Your videos are great ! I'm working my way through all of them - but I was extra fond of the Bristol video. This was because I grew up in Bristol and moved to Adelaide 36 years later.
There are a lot of changes, but the basic layout is the same. Thank you so much for your high quality films !
Awesome! Thank you! I'm always happy to hear such comments. Here is another walk in Bristol - basically the walk back - that's unpublished for now: ruclips.net/video/_XRnRoE0Jog/видео.html

Love this guy for coming to my city, but I would like to add that during peak times it’s much more vibrant
Bristol is so great for walking around
Love Bristol it's a Beautiful city and has a culture about it I find the people of Bristol friendly 😁 it's funny because I was thinking of. Jumping on a train tomorrow and having a day in Bristol then this came up on my RUclips home page 😂😂
Such a beautiful and lovely city

Thank you, Bristol is our second home.
Thank you Daniel, for this lovely walk in October 2019.
Very modern city near the marines. It's a lovely place to walk and glad I got to see it through your eyes and walk.
1:50 *Primark*
3:49 Colorful young ladies. Maybe decked out for Halloween. Because being PUNK went out in the 90's here in USA
8:00 Unique mall with so many cross over overhead. I love it.
14:06 Underground throughway to other side of highway above. Also filled with a bit of entertainment, man on ground singing with guitar.
15:22 AWESOME camera panning in this courtyard outdoors from Mall. Giving a good once over, showing a great place to take a break.
21:23 *St Peter's Church* in Castle Park.
22:32 View of the pedestrian bridge over *Temple Meads River* (canal?)
23:50 Crossing pedestrian bridge
27:27 Crossing back on *Victoria Street Bridge* .
29:13 Fast Climb up steps by *St. Nicholas Church*
29:34 Love the architect here
30:59 *Grand House*
31:51 Beautiful Building!
32:35 Love this Clock Archway part of *St. John's Church*
33:31 Lovely artwork on this building, that Daniel missed as well. Maybe next time.
35:28 *St. John's Statue* Plus is this for him too, at 34:51 ? I could not see it well.
35:50 Looks Unoccupied. Google has no info on this Lovely Building. Wonder what's wrong with it? Hope they don't tear it down. Streetlegalone says: I think the unoccupied building you are referring to is the *Catholic church St Mary* on the Quay which I believe, up to recently at least, held services. The reason for its name is that the water here is actually covered up (in the last century to make way for the tramways centre), but originally the harbor side went right up to this church so it literally sat on the quayside..
36:10 Quick view of *St. Stephen's Church*
37:46 Cute doggie begs it's mate for a "lick" of ice cream. LOL
39:04 *The Cascade Steps*
Lots of couples in this area. Must be a dating spot to meet up and also a romantic walk area. I understand why. It's lovely.
43:02 *Prince Street*
44:13 *Hydrock* ?? Says Google.
55:26 Sweet ending with Ducks, Mallards and Swans.
Extra input: We see Daniel in reflection Glass window at 24:41 & 25:12. I am still waiting for him to "WAVE" at his viewers! LOL
Thank you Brigitte! I see myself often too late in the reflections or have my hands full😎 - a digital camera on my right and the Osmo Pocket rig in my left, ha. Eventually it will come. I think one upcoming Kaliningrad walk has a little wave. Will see. Thanks for the comment as always
POPtravel ❤️ I love picking on you. Because I think you are a bit shy ☺️ . However I think you are adorable 😍 with a wonderful voice. With that said, I hope 🤞 you change nothing. It’s adorable to keep your videos a bit mysterious

I miss this city so much but my god do they need to sort broadmead out. Compared to other city centres it looks so run down.
Broadmead and the galleries used to be great but nowadays they have gone to rack and ruin!
@40:16 I used to walk there everyday , so bizarre that the places I used to go I watch the places on screen now ! Strange times !
I visited bristol multiple times in 1997. I was looking forward to seeing a few familiar views, Unfortunately, I saw none! but a lot of new things deserve to be seen. I may pay Bristol another visit. Thank you.

Bristol looks like a safe city, and what a relief. My family member will go for a year study at the University. Hopefully all go well.
Bristol felt like a nice city. I have a friend who lived there for a few months and also liked it there. On that day I recorded the walk back to the city center as well: ruclips.net/video/_XRnRoE0Jog/видео.html

@@poptravelorg nice video!
Thank you very much for this lovely video!
Enjoyed. I live in Bristol, it's a great place to be. The only things that spoil it is the graffiti - It's everywhere, and aggressive arrogant cyclists (usually on the pavement!)
That's funny because I also live in Bristol and I quite like the graffiti. But I do agree that some cyclist are aggressive.

Nice to see Bristol's calm side, and not just the god fawful traffic side of things.;))
Once you leave Bristol you will find it hard to move back. House prices are through the roof. So think carefully if your selling, as you could never afford to come back.
Love the trees in the city. This man must be tall you walks at a good pace... pretty city
Thanks. I'm average tall yet the pace is indeed a bit faster because I like to show more without video edits. Walking faster also looks nicer like passing people than walking behind them. Some viewers even watch such videos on a treadmill. 😎 Thanks for watching!
Broadmead isn't the same since Debenhams and Marks and Sparks shut down!
Hmm. walked right past a Banksy picture without showing it ...just behind the clock tower @53:07 and I thought that was why he went that way! And Bristol without the Clifton suspension bridge (or library, cathedral, university, Millennium square, Gloucester rd ...)
Love this video, too 🙂

I was sad when they shut Bristol Zoo down back last September!
Drum & Bass Massive!
I had made plans to travel there this year...just before the lockdowns started. So, here I am traveling there via RUclips. Thank you for making that possible.
There's a question that's been nagging me for a long time: do you pronounce the 't' in Cabot? In my area, we have a Chabot College and a Chabot Space and Science Center in which the 't' is silent.
yep. 'cabbut'.
@@stevestrange965 Thank you. :)
Well, with a real Bristol accent the ‘T’ would be silent lol !
I'm a huge fan of Skins and i just saw a lot of the places where they filmed. I want to visit Bristol one day before I die. Thanks for your video.

A very beautiful and cozy city. Greetings from Russia 🇷🇺🇬🇧
It's so beautiful. But work wise is it easy to find a job and is the living cost expensive
I hope to someday move to Bristol or Birmingham. Maybe somewhere in-between. (I'm not sure exactly what is in-between, I just know they are about a 1 1/2 hours away from each other. )
Such a better place then the U.S.
I would prefer Bristol personally and also have a friend who lived there for a few months really enjoying it. Here is another Bristol walk (the walk back): ruclips.net/video/_XRnRoE0Jog/видео.html and there also happens to be a Birmingham walk here on the channel: ruclips.net/video/rvoQ9fLXf-Y/видео.html

You were so close to queen square and didnt walk through it ;)
