I'm always saddened to see the number of people who just tear you apart...if you don't like what she buys QUIT WATCHING!!! I, for one, love love love you and everything you do! The light of Jesus shines through you and you are truly inspiring.I am only feeding two kids plus myself and my husband on a very limited budget and we do what needs to be done! Keep on inspiring friend =)
I'm just trying to catch up on your videos. I love your channel. One difference I see between you and some of the other channels is that you also shop for groceries with savings in mind however you do not limit your children's food consumption and you're not stingy with the food. 👍🏼
When you go to the little store you are also supporting a local business with local jobs :)
Its interesting to me what people choose to pick on in the comments. Youre doing a great job with your family. I think people forget the big picture of whats realities there are in this world. I guess its easier to pick on the little things than give you credit for all the great positive things you do. As a momma of many I know the struggle to get it all done and even though we LOVE having lots of children its not always easy. Sometimes you gotta pick your battles. And theres always areas where we could do better but people really need to look at the big picture here and give credit where credit is due.
I couldn't have said it any better
Hi! I usually don't comment, but felt like I needed to after reading so many negative comments. I think you are doing AMAZING with the groceries and the meal preps. Shopping and cooking for so many people and keeping within budget. That's awesome! Thank you for recording this video. I appreciate it!
Love your handsome son patiently waiting for you and enjoying his beef jerky ! He is going to make a great husband
Wow so much fighting for a simple grocery run... If anything we should be amazed that she can do all this and still have the time to share with us, who most likely have less responsibilities than she does!
Great video! Very helpful!
+Ismael Roa Ha Don't you understand this is the internet if you aren't living your life exactly how the internet trolls think you should live. Ie 100% vegan with no waste & composting your poop to grow your own veggies etc then you must be judged harshly & condemned. I'd love some of these trolls to take us into their lives for a week & show us honestly how they live, bet we could find 100's of things to pick apart about them too, but they'd all rather sit behind their keyboards & judge others.
Awesome haul! I am hooked on watching grocery hauls
Me too
This is the first video of yours I have watched, and I must say I am hooked! :) You are the kind of wife and mother I aspire to be!
Glad to know that we all those occasional quick trip "overpriced" grocery trips.
Life hack for saving $$ on detangler.....use water bottle or empty detangler bottle use 1 pump or squirt of conditioner and add water;) saves big......great videos!
+Yvette Delport Great idea!!!
The Dre Project price lurpak butter
Jaden behind you trying to quietly open his Slim Jim.. I was laughing out loud, I have two grown boys as well so I appreciated his trying so hard. Lol
Great hair day and love the necklace! Thanks for sharing your haul. Enjoy the last week before Labor Day with the family.
It is worth your time to make the drive to Walmart. Spend an hour once a week checking prices of local competitors and Walmart.com then price match your items at WalMart. Also, go to Walmart.com and print coupons. Trust me when I say you can save alot of money doing this. I work at WalMart. :)
I suggest you make your own tortillas. Kids love it and it is super easy. Make them and freeze them. You will get them cheaply and avoid all the chemicals in the store bought ones. We make everything from scratch and it is so easy once you get your baking center set up. I've got a corner where I have flour canisters, etc. For the little ones, I premix the dry ingredients for muffins into a ziplock bag. Cheaper and healthier than bought mixes. I use soy flour in place of egg so basically the mix becomes add oil and water only.
Your kids are so precious and it's always amazing to see how big your kids get in between videos! Jaiden has grown at least an inch in between videos lol
I hope you reuse all those plastic bags! You could maybe invest in reusable bags for your shopping so you can reduce the amount of waste there is. Very interesting to see though😊
"Did you keep up with that? I don't know that I did." You are hilarious. Thank you for being so real. It is very encouraging. God bless!
why do americans use so mutch plastic bags? Here in the Netherlands we bring our own reusable bags to the store. if you forget them you need to buy a plastic bag because stores cant give you one for free. thats a new law here in order to prevent litter. Be kind to mother nature :)
USA is slowly making that change. The West Coast is mostly reusable bag / pay for paper bags. I'm not sure about other areas of the states.
Here in Oregon paper bags (free) are encouraged, with some areas simply banning the plastic ones.
I live in Oklahoma and they have the option of reusable bags, but it doesn't seem like they are trying to make it mandatory. I do use the plastic ones sometimes, but I reuse them in the house too so they don't go to waste. Mostly for bathroom trash bags.
exactly! its such a waste
In Colorado, we have options for paper, plastic or reusable totes (price for totes vary depending on the store). plastic and paper are free.
I'm not a mom or have a large family, but I just love watching your videos.
I love how the kids were helping and wow what a super shopping haul!
Aldi is amazing, I grew up with it in Germany and was super happy to find out they have one near me here in the us
I love your videos Jamerrill! Your family is so sweet and I love how God is central in your lives. I'm blessed every time I watch one of your videos! :)
the amount of veggies is crazy......
I shop weekly. I have always wanted to try for monthly shopping and I love watching freezer meal videos :)
Thank you for your blog and channel as it has been very inspiring to me and has also helped me find my way back to the Lord. So looking forward to your slowcooker videos. I am a momma of 3 but I do daycare in my home and have 3 extra kids weekly. I need to do better about using my slowcooker so it isnt a huge dash at 5pm when my daycare kids leave and my husband gets home, plus we homeschool and my bigs are in dance and gymnastics so we are busy and would really benefit from having dinner already done in the slowcooker. I do meal plan already and that has helped. ton!
I totally relate to deviating from the plan! You do such a great job at going with the flow. I look forward to seeing your freezer cooking videos. God bless!
In Australia for a family of four we spend around $400 a fortnight on groceries. Not including random small trips during the week.
My sweet Mega Friend, love watching you making yummy soup.❤ You are Mega strong and Mega love by us all ❤. I know you have been through a load of mega battles and storms😢. God bless you and bring you some MEGA JOY & PEACE. LOVE & PRAYERS 🫶🏻🫶🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️.
I really enjoyed your video : ) thankyou for taking the time to do it. I only have one daughter and a little boy on the way and I don't know how you do it! you are super woman!
Love this
Can't wait for your Crock Pot videos. large family crockpot meals is something I have been looking for and am super excited to see your videos coming up. thank you for sharing your life !
New Subbie! You seem so sweet, love seeing how you provide for a big family.
Your voice is so calming! I love your videos, you're such an amazing mom and role model!
I can't wait for the freezer meals video. I'm new to the crock pot, but I love it. Chicken fajitas are my favorite, but the ease of shredding chicken breast and mixing honey mustard dipping sauce in is really nice too.
Do you set any rules such as one yogurt or one banana per day? If I didn't have such rules all that food would be gone in two days. We also have a one gallon of milk per day rule too. If you finish up "saturday's milk" before noon saturday, you have to wait until sunday to open up sundays milk.
+paige whitley I think I would have those rules because otherwise children fill up on only one item instead of eating a variety of good foods.
yogurt and bananas are so cheap though yogurt at aldi is about .60 , and bananas are usually .33 a lb . I get putting a limit to snack foods but healthy foods that are good for growing kids, especially cheap things like yogurt and fruit just seem silly to restrict . that's just me though .
They have an app for phones called Shop Calc. I'm on a budget as well, so this helps me figure out meal plans because I know how much I pay per meal.
I’m watching this July 2023 and knowing where you are now in life with your food halls a lot has change 🙂
Such a great haul as usual. Thanks for sharing.
6AM here, just woke up and heard my phone beep, it was a new video from you, so had to watch it before I start my day. Love your videos and your upbeat personality. Quick question off subject, but what do you do for energy while your pregnant? I heard you say once that you drink coffee often, but not sure its safe during pregnancy.
I know this was from August I just want to say thanks for doing this!! One idea is to use coupons if you do the store thats more in town. That can help with keeping costs down
Can't wait to see this slow cooker series! Definitely in need of between my two businesses and homeschooling! And I also hate doing a one week shop for groceries...ahhh! I totally feel you mama!
Food Lion is absolutely not overpriced. I don't know where you live but Food Lion always had great deals and it's worth it to print coupons as well.
***** I always assumed all Food Lions had the same deals, though I could definitely be wrong. Either way I very much enjoy your videos and I apologize if I came off rude.
they do have good deals and if u just shop there deals you can mqke ojt pretty good but if you areshoppjng for whats kn your grocery list it can be a little pricey. she gets really cheap deals on her grocery hauls so for its defiently pricey.
Yay I was excited when I saw a new video, you still did awesome at your small grocery store. Have a blessed weekend:)
Hi Jamerrill supporting your channel watching older videos ❤
wow what's with all the negative comments for lil things it's her family quit being so judgemental and she's an amazing mom
Hey this is a great video! But what worries me is the amount of plastic from this one grocery haul. Everything except the bananas is packaged in plastic, even the veges. It would be so much more environmentally friendly to try and purchase yoghurt in bulk, and veges not wrapped up in plastic. Also, you could save a lot of money on packaged water if your son was to buy a sturdy water bottle that he could refill. I hate to see so much unnecessary waste :(
I feel the same.
+aliceclydsdale There's a lot of plastic because the things she bought is typically packaged in a lot of plastic, such as the meats because its safer and it won't cause contamination, which is obvious, but the store she goes too doesn't seem to worry about the environment since around my area, meats and other items are packaged with less plastic. There's also recycling
Rachel xBaby That's why I suggested maybe buying yogurt in bulk, and veges that aren't wrapped in plastic. Of course meat should be packaged, but there are a lot of items here that are covered in unnecessary plastic :)
aliceclydsdale I guess so, but some or at least most of the vegetables they bought usually comes in plastic wrapping too XD bad I know
+aliceclydsdale It's a lot easier to do all those things when you don't have a family of what is it 9 people to worry about.
Great choice to have the yogurt while you make the video! My children enjoy those as well. I'm always encouraged after watching a video of yours. You transition back to Mom after recording so well. You are showing us how to balance life. Thank You! I'm glad the Lord gave you this ministry!!!! I've begun to pray for a 2nd refrigerator. LOL
Thank you for the encouragement!
I only have 2 kids, ages 5 and 7, but I also homeschool. Thanks for all of the inspiration.
fiber doesn't actually have carbs :) it doesn't give you any energy but is very good for digestion.
just did an exam on nutrition :))
Food Lion is a great store. I really miss mine. I could always count on them as a one stop shop.
+The Encouraging Homeschool Mum
Nine is certainly a lot of people to be caring for, and along with home schooling, your time must be all taken up. I could tell from your video that you were extremely organised. SUPERMUM I think is the right term. Don't forget to take some time for yourself. I grew up one of 5 children, and it wasn't until I was grown that I appreciated how hard my mum had worked. When the youngest started school at 5 she then started to work. I don't know how you manage to homeschool your children and do all the other things mums do.
Love it! Thank you for your grocery haul. I am doing them on RUclips at the moment and I love the ideas that I get when watching them 😊
Oh how I can empathize with you on paying for the convenience of shopping at the more expensive store out of convenience! I go between 4 grocery stores each time I shop for one reason or another and it never fails if I wait to get something at the 'cheaper' store (my next stop on grocery shopping day), they will be out of the item! Or if I go ahead and buy an item, I'll find it cheaper at the next store! LOL A little different than your scenario with shopping today, but reminds me of how REAL the struggle is, girl! :)
LOL Jamerrill, the yogurt distraction only lasted a short time!
Good Morning. Great haul. I can't wait for your slow cooker video!
I see we bought a few similar things this week. Eggs, chicken, ground beef, bananas, bell peppers, and milk etc... Instead of doing tacos we'll be doing buritos { we put in potato to bulk them out and wrap them in soft tortillas }. I also did a grocery haul video for show and tell. We're in Australia so I think what they cost is very different, but yeah.
I just love watching your videos! Thank you for taking the time to make them! I have 4 kids ages 5, 4, 16 months, and 5 months. We do a lot of crock pot meals, so I can't wait to see your ideas! :)
I’m all caught up on your current videos so I’m watching your older ones! Love your content!
Lord. Nearly 300$ for a week of food.
That's how much we spend monthly lol!
I think you did a great job and really got a lot for your money, considering it's local small grocery. I don't have as many kids, but the ones I have eat as though there were 3 of them!! TFS
Love your grocery hauls and I love your freezer meals. I am glad you posted some real-life footage of you going to your local overpriced grocery store as we all have those stores that are closer to us that are not necessarily cheaper I usually go to those ones and just got their sale stuff
You're doing an awesome job!
All your children are beautiful and you are a wonderful mom
Omg those prices are my prices here in NY and I hate paying those prices. What i found out is most super markets do mark downs on weds and Thursdays every week I can get many things for cheaper especially meat. And I coupon a lot and mostly shop at supermarkets that double coupons and not many do here. Other than that I'll do Costco Bjs and a really good 99cent store
I have a suggestion for the plastic containers also any other reusable items you have like egg cartons. clean them and use them again.
i hate the smaller carts! our local small grocery store has those itty bitty carts and i feel like i get so much stuff and then i get home and i'm like wtf this isn't anything why did i pay a fortune for a snack?!
Food Lion is always more expensive in my area too.
Thankfully we have some wonderful stores in the North East. Aldi's of course lol.... Market Basket is my go to for meets and dairy when the sales are great. Next week 18 pack of eggs at MB $0.89. At Aldi's this week I bought a ton of bananas for baking $0.29 cents a lb. and I bought 8 dozen eggs for $0.79 cents a dozen yay... love your videos.. keep them coming
i think also if you look at time saved (not just gas savings time)...that can be expensive. if an hour of time is worth $10-25, two hours of driving is $20-50.
***** absolutely! I'm excited to get to know you more...and learn tips for the possibly near future lol
We understand how family schedules can be soo busy
do you have a PO Box?
We could donate some coupons to use when you shop close to home
if you don't have a PO Box then print coupons off line or you could get a news paper subscription and for a fun project the kids can clip coupons for ya hope my suggestions are helpful
Not trying to make you feel bad, but when you said those eggs were $4.5 and that cheese was over $7 - you were totally right. That grocery store is expensive :(, HOWEVER sometimes we have to make the best with what we have and I think you did a great job! Thank you for all you do! You are very inspiring!
I have been lucky enough to find skinless, boneless chicken breasts at Wal-Mart for $1.99 that are the best quality I have found at any store yet. Love these videos. I am still fairly new at being a homemaker so it's nice to have videos like this to kind of help with meal planning/shopping. My daughter is milk/soy allergic so her special Almond//Coconut Milk costs about 1/4 of our grocery budget a month. These videos, along with your meal planning videos, have definitely helped me learn how to meal plan more effectively!
+Chelsea Mason I am also allergic to soy and dairy milk. Please learn to make your own oatmilk, bananamilk, almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk. It is so cheap and tastes best fresh. Very easy and lots of youtube information on how to do it. Start googling "from scratch mixes" and you can find an amazing amount of homemade mixes for everything so you can avoid her allergies. I set up 1 area of my kitchen with big canisters for flour, etc so it is all handy. I make my own tortillas because they are dirt cheap to make and so much better tasting than store. Then you can freeze them and use as base for quick skillet pizza, etc. I make my own french fries from whole potatoes, peel, cut, and put in my halogen oven. Fat free french fries in 10 minutes. Crock pot is your best friend. Also fried rice is super delicious, cheap, and healthy. Get a rice cooker for $20 and perfect rice every time effortlessly. Rice is so much cheaper than pasta or bread. I see a lot of waste in what this mom is buying but she might need to pay for convenience. For example I never buy cold cereals because the cost per serving is too high. Oatmeal, when soaked overnight, is easy to cook and supercheap. Many variations on line. If you save money on most things then you can take it and buy organic free range meats instead of the factory farm stuff which is loaded with antibiotics, pesticides, GMO, and hormones that will make some children start an early puberty. One other idea is to develop 1 week meal plan and then make that your meal every week. For example, at my house every Sunday is roast chicken or beef potroast (depends upon what is cheap), Monday is fried rice (use leftover meat from Sunday up), Tuesday is breakfast for dinner (waffles, eggs, pancakes, etc), Wednesday is bean burrito night, Thursday is spaghetti night (I vary the pasta shape from week to week and the sauces), Fridays are pizza night (use left over tomato sauce as pizza sauce and make on tortilla in skillet), Saturday is Chinese Takeaway (I make Chinese vegetable noodles Lo mein at home with steamed rice, veggies, etc, save some steamed rice for refried rice on Monday) We make extra dinner servings which get taken to work/school for lunch the next day. I am big into preparing food in advance. For example, I make the noodles in advance and store in the fridge. Then when I have a kitchen full of hungry people I just dip the pre-cooked noodles into boiling water and immediately remove them and serve. Sometimes I will have weeks where I just use the crock pot and have a different menu. it depends upon what is cheap. Mostly though you count on me having the menu I described above. I limit meat because the health data on meat consumption is not so good. I consider meat a flavoring and not part of the meal.
if you buy non shredded cheese you'll save money, it costs more to buy the pre-shredded than a block
Ur bangs look really full and good in the video
Your one week haul would last me and my husband at least a month if not longer LOL! But then again it is just the two of us.
I know this is an old video (I just stumbled across you two days ago and I'm going crazy trying to watch videos haha!) but have you considered making your own swifter pads?! I made mine and they're amazing!! I have 6 of those fuzzy socks (I can't for the life of me remember their name right now!), cut the toes off and a slit across the top. They slide right onto the mop head and I safety pin mine but it's not always necessary. I leave mine in a big bucket in the laundry room in a solution of vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice and water. I ring them out, one at a time, mop with it (plus side is I can switch it inside out and have another clean surface instead of using another pad) and throw it in the pile for the kitchen towels and rags. :) It's been a life saver. I know the pads are fairly cheap, but, with kids, any extra dollar is a huge savings in my eyes. :] Just an idea for you!!
I love your stain glass! The butterflies are beautiful!
Hi is traves , your husband that's a long way to drive. i hope he will be safe. thank you for sharing,
Love love love my slow cooker, so convenient
Do you ever wonder why hamburger in the states is that color? We get our hamburger ground in front of us, and it never looks that way. When we went back to the states and bought some pre-packaged, we realized that must be some type of special cow, because it doesn't make real hamburger! I would be very interested to know why it's so different.
+FoolyLiving It just has a larger fat content mixed in. I live in the "States" and purchase meat right from my farm and sometimes from the grocery store. When the meat has a lower fat content, it's more red in color, etc.
+FoolyLiving Some manufacturers add color to enhance the perception that their ground beef is fresh. Like you I have lived overseas and in the USA. Fruits and vegetables are better overseas. California has great produce but that's about it
English Department I guess if you're living in the US and only purchase your produce from Walmart, you may get subpar but if you know where to shop in your area or shop local farmer's markets, you're gonna get grade A fruit and veggies. Know your suppliers.
+FoolyLiving artificial coloring to keep a red color
+FoolyLiving Artificial coloring to look more appealing to people I'm sure nobody would want to buy gray looking meat I don't mind it but some people do.
I love your videos. I'm a mother of two (daughter just turned 2 and son will be 4 soon).
♡
God Bless you and your family!
You have realy nice kids.Lucky you are nooooo you tought them this way .crediat goes to you mom greatttttttttt mom.
Im from New Zealand. And I just wanna come to yoour house for dinner hahaah
I feel u mama, when i lived in a small town in ga. It was 30 min. To a walmart no matter what way i went lol. So the food lion was the store with in 10 min of us. There prices were the worst.
When my kids go with me they also get a treat for going with me..I notice your son got a treat as well :)
Loved this video! Thank you for the tips. I save a lot of money by feeding my family a vegan diet...meat's too expensive! Plus we all lost weight :) Aloha from Hawaii!
How in the world do you do it? When I was vegan it was more expensive for all the fresh veg/fruit.
Tara Hays Don't be discouraged...I definitely struggled at first! I bought all fresh when I first started but eventually started mixing in frozen veggies and fruit with my fresh picks from farmers markets etc. The crockpot is my BFF cause I just dump all my veggies and spices in there and serve it up over rice! Meals for the whole week done super quick and easy :) For me being vegan means being as lazy as I want haha.
+Amber Brennan Much easier to do vegan in Hawaii where fruit & veg aren't more expensive than cheap cuts of meat half the year & tasteless to boot.
***** Thank you so much! That comment really makes my day and means a lot to me...it makes me so sad to see the stereotypical "angry vegans" giving all of us a bad name!
wwaxwork Honestly, fresh fruit only takes up 10% of my grocery budget! Cost of living in Hawaii is pretty high :/ so I buy mostly frozen and mix in a little fresh. I'm super cheap haha!
At your sons college there might be a communal microwave in the cafeteria or something so he could take a homemade microwave meal
when I lived in Virginia, Food lion was so much money it was better to drive 30mins to Walmart for the prices.
Now I'm back in Florida and I haven't seen a food lion yet in 9/10 years.
😊❤🙏👍
Ms Ruby
.
i love love this type of hauls lol
Im a new subscriber. I love this channel! I love saving on groceries. I dont understand why shopping carts are so small. I am going to invent something new for shopping I saw a grocery bag the other day that was really cool, you put the stuff back in according to meats/produce/etc . Chicken breasts are so expensive here. I want to do a cooking party. Maybe I will do that one day on our vlog. I feel like that would be encouraging. You have 7 kids?! Wow I didn't realize that. The one in your car didn't look very happy ha ha.
I just love your food hauls!
The stores in Germany don't even have stuff in these big packages
less waste if you think about it....so much gets thrown away cause we forget about it or don't have a use at the moment and it rots in time.
Cassandra Leal do you mean with buying big or small packages?
Small packages. Cause once open it's only good for so long.
ah i understand ! the downside is that there is more packaging though.
This is best videos online......it's about food for
10 , buys once a month when able! Gives you great recipes , look into cute family life
That's what it's about ! Don't watch to complain about plastic, I use lots of plastic wrapped things I reuse what I can but that's not what this video is about! If you could keep snarky emails to yourself, especially ones that are not about topic! Would help !
I love these videos thank you so much for sharing :D
I so love your necklace and your ratings are awesome also.
I always try to drive the extra 30 minutes or so to go to WalMart...pass right on by Food Lion unless I just need a few things. They are definitely overpriced! Love your grocery hauls
Awesome video with great ideas!
june, iam walking without the walker love your siser christina
