    I'm always saddened to see the number of people who just tear you apart...if you don't like what she buys QUIT WATCHING!!! I, for one, love love love you and everything you do! The light of Jesus shines through you and you are truly inspiring.I am only feeding two kids plus myself and my husband on a very limited budget and we do what needs to be done! Hi! I usually don't comment, but felt like I needed to after reading so many negative comments. I think you are doing AMAZING with the groceries and the meal preps. Shopping and cooking for so many people and keeping within budget. That's awesome! Thank you for recording this video. I appreciate it!

    Its interesting to me what people choose to pick on in the comments. Youre doing a great job with your family. I think people forget the big picture of whats realities there are in this world. I guess its easier to pick on the little things than give you credit for all the great positive things you do. As a momma of many I know the struggle to get it all done and even though we LOVE having lots of children its not always easy. Sometimes you gotta pick your battles. And theres always areas where we could do better but people really need to look at the big picture here and give credit where credit is due.

    I'm just trying to catch up on your videos. I love your channel. One difference I see between you and some of the other channels is that you also shop for groceries with savings in mind however you do not limit your children's food consumption and you're not stingy with the food. 👍🏼

    Great video! Very helpful!

      +Ismael Roa Ha Don't you understand this is the internet if you aren't living your life exactly how the internet trolls think you should live. Ie 100% vegan with no waste & composting your poop to grow your own veggies etc then you must be judged harshly & condemned. I'd love some of these trolls to take us into their lives for a week & show us honestly how they live, bet we could find 100's of things to pick apart about them too, but they'd all rather sit behind their keyboards & judge others.

    I suggest you make your own tortillas. Kids love it and it is super easy. Make them and freeze them. You will get them cheaply and avoid all the chemicals in the store bought ones. We make everything from scratch and it is so easy once you get your baking center set up. I've got a corner where I have flour canisters, etc. For the little ones, I premix the dry ingredients for muffins into a ziplock bag. Cheaper and healthier than bought mixes. I use soy flour in place of egg so basically the mix becomes add oil and water only.

    Thank you for your blog and channel as it has been very inspiring to me and has also helped me find my way back to the Lord. So looking forward to your slowcooker videos. I am a momma of 3 but I do daycare in my home and have 3 extra kids weekly. I need to do better about using my slowcooker so it isnt a huge dash at 5pm when my daycare kids leave and my husband gets home, plus we homeschool and my bigs are in dance and gymnastics so we are busy and would really benefit from having dinner already done in the slowcooker. I do meal plan already and that has helped. ton!

    It is worth your time to make the drive to Walmart. Spend an hour once a week checking prices of local competitors and Walmart.com then price match your items at WalMart. Also, go to Walmart.com and print coupons. Trust me when I say you can save alot of money doing this. I work at WalMart. :)

    Do you ever wonder why hamburger in the states is that color? We get our hamburger ground in front of us, and it never looks that way. When we went back to the states and bought some pre-packaged, we realized that must be some type of special cow, because it doesn't make real hamburger! I would be very interested to know why it's so different.

    • @Iheart2cook
      @Iheart2cook 9 лет назад +2

      +FoolyLiving It just has a larger fat content mixed in. I live in the "States" and purchase meat right from my farm and sometimes from the grocery store. When the meat has a lower fat content, it's more red in color, etc.

    • @englishdepartment4308
      @englishdepartment4308 9 лет назад +2

      +FoolyLiving Some manufacturers add color to enhance the perception that their ground beef is fresh. Like you I have lived overseas and in the USA. Fruits and vegetables are better overseas. California has great produce but that's about it

    • @Iheart2cook
      @Iheart2cook 9 лет назад +3

      English Department I guess if you're living in the US and only purchase your produce from Walmart, you may get subpar but if you know where to shop in your area or shop local farmer's markets, you're gonna get grade A fruit and veggies. Know your suppliers.

    why do americans use so mutch plastic bags? Here in the Netherlands we bring our own reusable bags to the store. if you forget them you need to buy a plastic bag because stores cant give you one for free. thats a new law here in order to prevent litter. Be kind to mother nature :)

    • @megs871

      I live in Oklahoma and they have the option of reusable bags, but it doesn't seem like they are trying to make it mandatory. I do use the plastic ones sometimes, but I reuse them in the house too so they don't go to waste. Mostly for bathroom trash bags.

  • @amya79

    Oh how I can empathize with you on paying for the convenience of shopping at the more expensive store out of convenience! I go between 4 grocery stores each time I shop for one reason or another and it never fails if I wait to get something at the 'cheaper' store (my next stop on grocery shopping day), they will be out of the item! Or if I go ahead and buy an item, I'll find it cheaper at the next store! LOL A little different than your scenario with shopping today, but reminds me of how REAL the struggle is, girl! :)

    I see we bought a few similar things this week. Eggs, chicken, ground beef, bananas, bell peppers, and milk etc... Instead of doing tacos we'll be doing buritos { we put in potato to bulk them out and wrap them in soft tortillas }. I also did a grocery haul video for show and tell. We're in Australia so I think what they cost is very different, but yeah.

    Im a new subscriber. I love this channel! I love saving on groceries. I dont understand why shopping carts are so small. I am going to invent something new for shopping I saw a grocery bag the other day that was really cool, you put the stuff back in according to meats/produce/etc . Chicken breasts are so expensive here. I want to do a cooking party. Maybe I will do that one day on our vlog. I feel like that would be encouraging. You have 7 kids?! Wow I didn't realize that. The one in your car didn't look very happy ha ha.

    I know this is an old video (I just stumbled across you two days ago and I'm going crazy trying to watch videos haha!) but have you considered making your own swifter pads?! I made mine and they're amazing!! I have 6 of those fuzzy socks (I can't for the life of me remember their name right now!), cut the toes off and a slit across the top. They slide right onto the mop head and I safety pin mine but it's not always necessary. I leave mine in a big bucket in the laundry room in a solution of vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice and water. I ring them out, one at a time, mop with it (plus side is I can switch it inside out and have another clean surface instead of using another pad) and throw it in the pile for the kitchen towels and rags. :) It's been a life saver. I know the pads are fairly cheap, but, with kids, any extra dollar is a huge savings in my eyes. :] Just an idea for you!!

      +The Encouraging Homeschool Mom helpful and respectful. I seriously love how patient and polite he was while you vlogged. Most teens would be annoyed, huffing, cutting in, etc. Bravo Jaiden and Brava Jamerrill

    I have been lucky enough to find skinless, boneless chicken breasts at Wal-Mart for $1.99 that are the best quality I have found at any store yet. Love these videos. I am still fairly new at being a homemaker so it's nice to have videos like this to kind of help with meal planning/shopping. My daughter is milk/soy allergic so her special Almond//Coconut Milk costs about 1/4 of our grocery budget a month. These videos, along with your meal planning videos, have definitely helped me learn how to meal plan more effectively!

      +Chelsea Mason I am also allergic to soy and dairy milk. Please learn to make your own oatmilk, bananamilk, almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk. It is so cheap and tastes best fresh. Very easy and lots of youtube information on how to do it. Start googling "from scratch mixes" and you can find an amazing amount of homemade mixes for everything so you can avoid her allergies. I set up 1 area of my kitchen with big canisters for flour, etc so it is all handy. I make my own tortillas because they are dirt cheap to make and so much better tasting than store. Then you can freeze them and use as base for quick skillet pizza, etc. I make my own french fries from whole potatoes, peel, cut, and put in my halogen oven. Fat free french fries in 10 minutes. Crock pot is your best friend. Also fried rice is super delicious, cheap, and healthy. Get a rice cooker for $20 and perfect rice every time effortlessly. Rice is so much cheaper than pasta or bread. I see a lot of waste in what this mom is buying but she might need to pay for convenience. For example I never buy cold cereals because the cost per serving is too high. Oatmeal, when soaked overnight, is easy to cook and supercheap. Many variations on line. If you save money on most things then you can take it and buy organic free range meats instead of the factory farm stuff which is loaded with antibiotics, pesticides, GMO, and hormones that will make some children start an early puberty. One other idea is to develop 1 week meal plan and then make that your meal every week. For example, at my house every Sunday is roast chicken or beef potroast (depends upon what is cheap), Monday is fried rice (use leftover meat from Sunday up), Tuesday is breakfast for dinner (waffles, eggs, pancakes, etc), Wednesday is bean burrito night, Thursday is spaghetti night (I vary the pasta shape from week to week and the sauces), Fridays are pizza night (use left over tomato sauce as pizza sauce and make on tortilla in skillet), Saturday is Chinese Takeaway (I make Chinese vegetable noodles Lo mein at home with steamed rice, veggies, etc, save some steamed rice for refried rice on Monday) We make extra dinner servings which get taken to work/school for lunch the next day. I am big into preparing food in advance. For example, I make the noodles in advance and store in the fridge. Then when I have a kitchen full of hungry people I just dip the pre-cooked noodles into boiling water and immediately remove them and serve. Sometimes I will have weeks where I just use the crock pot and have a different menu. it depends upon what is cheap. Mostly though you count on me having the menu I described above. I limit meat because the health data on meat consumption is not so good. I consider meat a flavoring and not part of the meal.

    Do you set any rules such as one yogurt or one banana per day? If I didn't have such rules all that food would be gone in two days. We also have a one gallon of milk per day rule too. If you finish up "saturday's milk" before noon saturday, you have to wait until sunday to open up sundays milk.

      +paige whitley I think I would have those rules because otherwise children fill up on only one item instead of eating a variety of good foods.

      yogurt and bananas are so cheap though yogurt at aldi is about .60 , and bananas are usually .33 a lb . I get putting a limit to snack foods but healthy foods that are good for growing kids, especially cheap things like yogurt and fruit just seem silly to restrict . that's just me though .

    Omg those prices are my prices here in NY and I hate paying those prices. What i found out is most super markets do mark downs on weds and Thursdays every week I can get many things for cheaper especially meat. And I coupon a lot and mostly shop at supermarkets that double coupons and not many do here. Other than that I'll do Costco Bjs and a really good 99cent store

      less waste if you think about it....so much gets thrown away cause we forget about it or don't have a use at the moment and it rots in time.

    It seems like here in rural Virginia that same overpriced small grocery store is in every neighborhood! I hate going to ours out here on Lake Anna even more because I feel like the prices this time of year are even more inflated due to the influx of vacationers. More incentive for me to plan ahead I suppose lol :)

      +Shannah Mort I suggest you learn to cook everything from scratch. That is how I saved a ton living in a rural community. I did a big shop every 4th month at Costco. i bought flour, rice, dried beans, oil, oatmeal, dried milk, soy flour, any meat etc. I made my own oat milk, rice milk, etc. I had big buckets of sand to store my raw carrots in. I also kept my potatoes and apples in the refrigerator. Used big coolers to bring back frozen stuff. Most of my vegetables/fruits were frozen because it was the cheap way. I owned a bread machine (I am lazy to make bread by hand), a halogen oven, and a rice cooker. I got some grow lights and grew my own lettuce inside so I would have fresh greens whenever I wanted them. Those little grocery stores are price traps, aren't they?
