The whole idea of the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows is gross to begin with. I wish the whole franchise would disappear.

He was never going to pick a black girl. He never presented himself to be proud of his African American Heritage. I watched intently during interviews whenever he was asked how does it feel to be the first black bachelor, he would exclaim several times, “my mom is white,” when introduced as first black and how does it feel to be such.
I believe now that racism has reared it’s head to be the underbelly of the show with the show needing to take responsibility, it has had him to reflect on his blackness. He may have not had to give much focus until now.

Literally because the expectation - created by producer statements - was that more POC would be cast and there wouls be actual change. But with 30 women in the cast, even though 25 were BIPOC, who got the most screen time? The few white woman. Believe it or not, not very long ago the confederate flag was just a flag. The meaning of the flag was just a symbol of the south and had been by and large disassociated from the confederate forces of the civil war. That is until the woke crowd returned its power by using it as racial leverage to hate anyone who had ever posed next to one.

I think after watching the interviews and understand what that means to some of my friends who are black I have to say I think it’s good Chris Harrison takes time off. Originally I thought he made a mistake, but the way he was speaking to Rachel wasn’t appropriate when she was trying to explain what it would feel like if she went to a party like that. I think the more open conversations we have the better understanding we have as to what it would be like in someone else’s shoes.

Yep, slavery to America is the same as the Holocaust in Germany and we expect EVERY American to have the SAME disgust and sentiments towards it and anything connected to it that they have towards the Nazis.
In Germany teachers educate kids from an early age about the horrors of nazi Germany, I think they should do the same with slavery in the US. What a difference it could make.

A huge part of the problem is any white person over the age of thirty was raised by parents from the 1970's and earlier. And, by consequence, had grandparents from the '50s and earlier. So hearing the stories from their grandparents and parents about things that happened way back during the segregation period and other instances makes an impact. And the more stories they hear, the more they realize that those things were normal then, even though they're not normal currently. Desensitizing is the word I'm looking for. It's going to take a couple of generations before all of that is forgotten, if it ever is. So perhaps that is why blacks are expected to be more quick to forgive than others. They hear the stories of their parents and grandparents as well, and know what they had to deal with back then. It's a thing of normalcy.
I think Michelle is the best choice, HOWEVER, I think Rachel is extremely attractive as is Bri,,,I think he might be leaning towards Rachel.

Well, anything that we say, upload and do online can easily backfire at any time. You never know who is tracking you, how far back they will dig in terms of your information and how your online activity will be construed. Anything can cost you your job and/or public reputation nowadays.

I feel like I'm not a educated person about these parties. And understand a party at a plantation is racist as fk. People died there. When I visited new Orleans for the first time I was honestly outraged they do tours at them. Do they do tours of homes other american families were murdered? These plantations were well established by the times the slaved were freed. Meaning majority of slaves were us citizens. Who were tortured and murdered while building the country we live in now . There should only be memorials standing where those buildings are number one. I am a long time Bachelor nation fan and have been
watching the show since the very beginning. I think most of us watch the shows
for the romance, fantasy and escape. However, the recent news/scandal is making
me not wanting to watch the show any longer. There is too much negative energy.
Racism is essentially a form prejudice and discrimination, which can be
inevitable. When we don’t know people well, we likely to judge people based on
our own experiences, trauma and lack of knowledge. The more we are hyper vigilant
about racism, the more we will find it. Not only we will find Racism everywhere,
Racism will follow us. It’s like Law of Attraction. We need to promote Forgiveness,
not Condemnation. I believe that Rachel K and Chris H are imperfect people with
no intention to hurting the black community. They didn’t know better. Times have
changed as we are living in a world where people are becoming super sensitive. When
people know more/better, they will do better. Condemning and cancelling people
for being imperfect will only perpetuate hate and separation. Maybe it’s time
for all of us (both sides) to reflect and step back. How can we learn from this
incident so that we can be more tolerant and not easily triggered. We are all
the same, flawed human beings trying to grow and be better.

I disagree, it’s not making anyone racist, it’s just exposing the ones who already had a racist or privileged mentality. It’s not going to tear our country apart. It will actually bring our country together. If it weren’t for “woke people” we will still be segregated and living a life of hostility on both sides (white/black) and other ethnic groups would be more prosperous in foreign nations and the US will not be strong enough to stand on its own. This country was built up by immigrants. Our imports come from Black and Asian nations.
None of my white friends were offended. My aunt wasn’t offended, my uncle wasn’t offended. They know the truth and they have chosen to be more aware of their privilege. When you’re close minded and it’s brought to your attention how problematic your way of thinking is, you react two ways: remorseful or agitated.
People are defensive verses apologetic because they don’t like for their views to be challenged and there’s just too many evidence that prove this. The thing is, when we as blacks and brown people are quiet and expected to ignore blantant racism, it is dismissed and normalize, especially in the work place. It will continues to happen until people become more socially and culturally aware.
The bachelor isn’t just black he’s also white but he’s educated enough to understand the offense. Why is someone Chris Harrison’s age this foolish to not see it for what it is? If a young man not much older than your own children is aware of it, why couldn’t you educate yourself on this years ago? Racism was even stronger during his time.
If we don’t become socially aware, we will continue to have this conversation. This “Woke stuff” is actually making WHITE PEOPLE more aware and I promise you a “woke” culture for the new generation is exactly what we need. Look how interracial dating has increased. The last group of millennials going into generation Z will not stand for this. It’s out with the old way of thinking like Chris Harrison and in with more professional people. He kept bringing up 2018 basically saying if it was a big deal now why wasn’t it then....IT WAS A BIG DEAL THEN!!! It just wasn’t publicized the way it is now because she wasn’t on tv back then. You can’t be a public figure and think those things won’t be exposed

Antebellum dresses do not mean celebrating slavery , unlike other symbols.
