      Did you end up getting the Matte surf green limited edition Atlantic? Is it worth the upgrade?

    My lord I love this guitar both of them too.....I'm gonna get the standard and change the pickups to a Seymour Duncan Blackout for Metal in the bridge and give it a Metallic Silver Sparkle paintjob body and headstock ( oh that beautiful amazing headstock )! I my Atlantic to be one the most beautiful guitars I have because that guitar, it's players, and the Company of D'angelico deserve it!

    I definitely like the sound of the Seth Lovers more but they're both great guitars!

      When I first got my hands on the LE, my first impressions were “oh man, the Seth lovers blow the 59s out of the water.” The SLs just have a kick and a crispness to them that’s really satisfying when you’re playing and digging in. After picking up my Standard Dlx Atlantic for the first time in a couple weeks, I really appreciated the more vintage sounding tone of 59s. It was like instant nostalgia. A little rounder and less in-your-face than the SLs, but still a really pleasant sound. Truly, both are really nice options!

    Your videos are top notch bro. Great playing and explanation as always. Your videos are the benchmark for RUclipsrs. Keep them coming!
    I’d love to see you do a beat video similar to the Jordan Rakei a beat from nothing videos. You’d kill it 🎸

    The one Limited edition sounds thicker and brighter than the standard one, that it sounds cool, but too sharper for me. Thanks for your reviews and videos in general. Kind regards 🙂

      Can't the sharpness be dialed out though? I have the LE and also do not favor sharp ice picky treble but it's easy to dial out. I did notice the volume pots turn to mud quickly when turning down. Currently having a new wiring harness made with treble bleeds. I normally do this myself but it's an absolute mess under the hood here and just want to start with a fresh professional job.

    I would love to hear more of what your thoughts are on the differences as a conclusion. It is different listening to a recording vs actually playing them.

    Thanks to your demos I just bought the Premier (got to start somewhere) Atlantic Black-flake today and should have it in a couple of days. As far as the Deluxe vs Limited. I like the neck PU on the Deluxe better, but like the neck PU better on the Limited. Odd, I know. I do love the matte finish on the Deluxe models!

    Patrick, like them both but prefer the Atlantic Deluxe. Sounds warmer to me which I prefer. In fact, I have the Atlantic Deluxe in the Swamp Wood finish and out of the seven guitars that I have, it is my favorite! Thanks for the great video!

    Do you have the Brighton as well? it would be good to see a comparison with the Atlantic if you did have one. Great vid mate smooth playing

    • @PatrickBreenMusic
      @PatrickBreenMusic  3 года назад

      I do not have a Brighton, but I have reviewed both the Deluxe and Premier Brighton on this channel. It's quite similar to the Atlantic. Biggest difference is obviously the single cutaway on the Atlantic vs the double cutaway on the Brighton. If you compare the specs side by side, you'll see how similar the two guitars are. I'll definitely see if I can get a loner Brighton for a comparison video though. Stay tuned 😊

    Torn between Matte Surf green and this Charcoal. Charcoal seems a little dull, but so am I.

    • @PatrickBreenMusic
      @PatrickBreenMusic  3 года назад +1

      The Charcoal is pretty sweet, to be honest. Depending on the light, it looks black or charcoal or even blueish sometimes. It's slick. I don't have anything in the "dark finish family" so this was the one for me. I got that feeling the first time I saw it. That said, the surf green is wild. Such a stand out finish. Can't go wrong with either if you ask me! (also, you seem wonderful! I doubt very much that you're dull! lol!)

    The sound of the standard 54 are so much more pleasant to the ear.
    Whereas the LE humbuckers appear very sterile.

    Did I get that right, they have different frets? Are you sure it's Medium vs. Medium Jumbo? And do you know about the frets with the Premier series? I thought all D'Angelico solidbody guitars have the same frets. Thnx

    • @PatrickBreenMusic
      @PatrickBreenMusic  3 года назад

      The fretwire is different. The Standard Deluxe Atlantic has medium fretwire and the Deluxe Atlantic LE has Jescar Medium Jumbo 57/110 fretwire.

    How do you feel about gold hardware? I'm really tempted to pickup a Bedford and like the gold hardware on it but am worried it will just not look good after some use.

    • @PatrickBreenMusic
      @PatrickBreenMusic  3 года назад +1

      The white Deluxe Atlantic guitar in this video is my oldest and most-played D'Angelico. I've had it for 3 years now and the gold hardware has held up nicely. Some fading / tarnishing here and there and, if you look closely, you can definitely see a little bit of patina staring to develop on the tailpiece. Nothing too major at all and I like the look, to be honest. It gives the guitar character, but also would probably look like new with a good polish.
      That said, I'm almost positive that the Gold Hardware will only be on the Limited Edition solid body guitars moving forward. The Stand Deluxe Solid Bodies will feature chrome hardware. Maybe that makes your decision a bit easier!

      Patrick. Love the pretty, R&B type playing. I'm checking to see if you were still following up on this post.
      From what I can tell, at least on the older Atlantic like yours, they have a 14 inch radius. That's really flat and has me a bit concerned. Did that take some adjustment for you?
      I've come across one barely played for about $300 but don't want to risk it if I can't play it. I would appreciate any suggestions.
      Thank you very much.

    Ugh. Its so hard to decide. I've almost pulled the trigger on the surf green Atlantic many times. Im just afraid of that skinny neck profile.
