The dress is lovely and fits you perfectly ! I'm glad you went the long underskirt way, I think it goes better with the theme of the dress. Short underskirts can be fun, but I usually prefer when they have a funky hem, it flows better with the rest that stray across the legs. I would love to see a dark blue/celestial kind of dress too !
@@french.meadows - I have no idea! It drives me crazy. I prefer greens on the bluish side, and those seem especially hard to find. For something like fifteen years, I looked for some foliage-themed fabric to make a canopy and bedcurtains out of, and failed. I no longer have the metal-framed bed I was going to put them on...but I still reflexively look for it when I'm in a fabric store, and I've still never found it. 😞
Glad this episode found my YT feed!! What a delightful gown.... and an overall masterpiece. The color is sumptuous and suits you so well!! The trickiest parts of this dress design are the straps.... Whereas the rest of the dress says, "I am elegant: boldly structural with a hint of 'floof,' " the straps as you wear them are overridden by the size of the embellishments - the "busy-ness" conflicting with the elegance of the body of the dress. When you dropped the straps to the side such that you had a demi-sleeved strapless gown where the embellishment "works better for you," you looked even more stunning, if that were possible. Any way to make that happen? Those demi-sleeves might be more consistent with the slight 'floofiness' of the rest of the dress.... Whenever one can keep style lines consistent - and you certainly can - go for it!! Can't wait to see your next creation.... (BTW, floofiness = feminine fluffiness + poufiness.)
Gorgeous!

Totally agree on how hard it is to find good foliage motifs in good shades of green. Green is an underappreciated color in the fabric industry.
Whyyyyy tho 😭😭
