@Alex Hall Oh man, I think you had the wrong friends, or lived in the wrong town... A decade, even two decades ago this was a big thing already. Before the usage of LED they used colored edison bulbs. When LED started doing RBG home lights, me and my friends had the spaciest spaces in town. LEDS, including blacklights and neon paint on the walls and items, and lots of greenery to make the perfect trip cave; spacejungle.
One friend used an old projector on the wall where he projected the music visualisations from WinAmp. Another one had a huge aquarium with a waterfall system above it.
Great times... I really recommend you, if ever have the opportunity to join such a room or house.

When you're ever sad or depressed do you just turn off all the leds?
This is one of the oddest questions I've gotten. I've never felt the need to turn lights off when sad. If anything I turn on funky colors and play some good music to get into a better mood.

@@laelaisasome just google pihole. It's not hard to set up, I'm a total noob and had it going within 2 hours.
@@laelaisasome Just google pihole it's really easy to install. I used to run it on my raspberry pi and had display (bigger than this video) too but after couple of days I removed the display because it's pretty useless and now I'm running pihole on my NAS docker so no need to have raspberry pi for that anymore. If you have raspberry pi and you want to try that it's easy to do and should be running in about 30min.

That cube is actually really easy to make but it all can depend on the quality you build it. This one looks like it was built the right way because all the led reflections look straight. Nice job!

Typically ignorant of people to assume a high electricity bill with LEDs, especially outdoor Christmas decorations and indoor LED strips. They do NOT draw insane amounts of power, I've got about 5600 LEDs covering the outline of my house and the trees/bushes surrounding it, and in total that draws about 32W constant (1.1A in 29V, strings are made for 31V but dimmed so they're not blindingly bright). That's less than a T8 flourescent tube for older kitchen lights. It's even less than a single halogen spotlight used for indoor ceiling spots. I keep it on 24/7 and don't even notice it on the electricity bill, it's usually lower in December/January because I use the fireplace rather than electric heating.

What LEDs do you have that draw such little power? My Strip lighting draw .3 watts each.
@@fitlikeaglove7396 They're string lights, each LED draws 0.06W on their proper forward voltage of 3V (20mA) but by turning the overall voltage down, the current decreases a lot while brightness only decreases slightly.

its super easy just run that command on a linux install of any sort.
You could use acrylic paint to cover the white areas of the cable that showed on the cabinets. Hand mix the color but remember that it will dry darker than when it is wet.
