Great video! I own a f83 convertible m4. I got the VTT crank bolt capture plate installed instead of the full "pinned crank hub" solution. As per the forums, so far no one has really "spun the hub" with the plate installed. I hope its true! I've been stage 2 and beating all these 5.0 mustangs, chargers, Camaros, so far, so good...
Very nice! And yea I did not know about the capture plate when I installed my 4 pinned crankhub, but either option I trust. That is awesome! I am glad stage 2 is treating you well :)
Plan on picking one up at the end of this year/beginning of 2022. I haven't heard a lot of people talk about the crank hub issue but I appreciate you for acknowledging it & I will definitely have to upgrade that!
Nice!! That’s exciting, you’ll absolutely love these cars. Thanks for watching. And no problem, the crank hub is something you will want to consider looking into when you get the car.
Thank you! And that would be super sick! Definitely try to upgrade to at least an n55. I had a 435 last summer and it was such a fun car and engine to tune. Sometimes it’s fun to work up the ladder with the bmws. I had 6 basic bimmers before I got this M4. But don’t give up on your goal!
I have a 2018 M4 competition, bought it last year in June and have done around 4k miles in it to date yet my rear tyres are still showing 6mm tread and are like brand new. I have Michelin pilot super sports all round and I think it suits the car better than say pirellis do or any other make. I think try that bud. Love your Yas Marina it's absolutely stunning. Mine is mineral white with full M performance kit including the CF DTM rear spoiler and has an MPE exhaust.
still not fully decided if I should keep my F32 N55 and put money into it with boltons/tune/coilovers/wheels and more cosmetic stuff just hit 30k miles on it or sell it now and try to get a M4
Get the M4. It’s worth it 100%. Going from a 435 to an M4 you will truly realize how big of the difference the cars are. Also the power potential is so limited in the n55 compared to the s55. But the f32 is still great in most every way
@@AutomotiveTherapy for sure! I appreciate the info especially since you have owned both now I'll do a bit more saving and try to get my hands on a F80/F82
I came from a 2014 m235i, (n55) stage 2 tune and catless, carbon fiber all around, lowered dyno'd 390whp/440wtq. It was a sexy ride, but got totaled. Now I have a F83 convertible m4 and its a WORLD of difference, stage 2 tune, catless as well, it dyno'd 495whp/551wtq. Mineral white with that red leather interior.. its beautiful!!
Nope zero accidents and yes it’s hit a curb once but it was head on and the wheels rolled over it. But you had the same noise and were able to get rid of it??? I need more info because I’ve taken it to the a ship twice now and they have not been able to find a solution. It’s the loudest most embarrassing noise when I turn the wheel
@@AutomotiveTherapy I'll dig out the receipts and tell you exactly what they did fixed it said it was OK if I had issues to call back car was fine soon as I put spacer on it came back they said they replaced a nut and some shield was loose. But before I hit my car into a curb and had to change thrust arm after fix ticking just like yours started 200 miles later it was a pinch bolt issue
My 2015 is lowered as well, but this sounds happens on the rear driver side, mostly when I reverse. It is loud and embarrassing as you said.. Did either of you guys ever find the exact solution? What's this pinch bolt?
I love the manuals. It was a very close call. I just fell in love with the aggressive super car sensation that the DCT provides and it’s great for racing. But honestly my next M4 will probably be a manual, because they are just as fun in that transmission
@@AutomotiveTherapy Thanks for the response. It was a hard choice for me too, but test drove both and decided on a manual. Can’t really go wrong with either one!

getting one soon going to do the crank bolt first for peace of mind

Everyone talks about it lol literally the first thing you should upgrade if you’re going to mod a s55
Did you get your F80 ?
Jay 10k not yet bro life got in the way while trying to finish up this degree, but soon!
love your m4 hopefully i’ll trade my 2013 128i soon for a m4 or a m240i bro keep uploading you motivate me!

You can pair your garage door opener to your rear view mirror ;)
That way you can have a clean visor.
super easy.

Love the blue M1/M2 buttons. You don’t see that often
Thanks! It’s a nice contrast to the blue exterior
Even tho I’m 14 I really want to own an f82 m4 in the future (obvs not first car cause I would go bankrupt 5 times over) I also subbed and liked
Hey it’s becoming more common for younger people to own these types of cars! Just put your mind to it and you’ll have one in no time 🙌
@@AutomotiveTherapy will do
What a stunning ride!
Thank you very much!
Love the lomography filter
Gives it a nice cinematic feel!
Jump horn relay to ground and see if horn comes on, can you hear a click when u press horn pad
I tried that but I looked all over my car and could not locate the horn relay, do you know where it’s located?
Intro was sick
It was fun to film thanks!
take it to the dealer ship my man
Yea she is going to make a trip there soon!

Some sliding in the beginning 👀
I had the same issue when replacing my suspension for H&R. It was just a lose bolt.
Was it the pinch bolt?
@@AutomotiveTherapy yes it was mate.
I have tightened mine down and properly torqued it down yet it still clicks. Should I try just replacing the bolt with a new one?
@@AutomotiveTherapy it would surprise me the bolt would be broken. Is it on both sides or just left or right?
@@JB_lifestyle_cars both sides. I heard that it is a one time use bolt...
Has you car been hit / accidents? Or curbed hard.? Pinch bolt thing made.me think that as after hitting a curb side on this was same noise from mine
Fixed now can look on receipt and tell you what they tightened up. It was something that got loose a shield or some thing

It started making that noise right after u lowered it ?
Yea it did :/ a lot of forums say they have experienced it as well

Do u have an upgraded crank hub?
I do! I made 2 separate videos on it
How did it do on corners? What previous cars did you drive?
Oh it’s amazing on corners. I had a 435xi, 330xi and a 540i before this one 👌
What year is ur car ?
2016
Replace the crankhub early you’ll thank me later
I replaced 3 months into ownership!
You didnt’t lower it correctly
