EDIT: Giveaway winners have been decided, I have replied to your comment if you have won. Better luck next time to everyone else!🫡 I'll announce the winners of the giveaway on Monday so don't forget to enter! Also, let me know what you'll be building in Space Engineers 2!
Currently in SE1 I'm building what i call "a system explorer class" ship. It's basically a moving base that has everything and can go anywhere, but looks nice. xD If I can run SE2, I'll do the same ship but WAY better looking and more detailed. ;]
I'm gonna build so many vertically oriented ships like in The Expanse. Finally this will actually be possible without having to solve a giant 3D puzzle of putting blocks in extremely limited space.
@charlesclay5170 just praying they add plenty of customisability with control layout so you can revert it or change to something else if you really want to
Reminds me in some ways of the build system in Enshrouded. That ability to go to very different sized blocks for detailing on larger blocks is very similar to Enshrouded. More block variability than Enshrouded though, and can rotate on more axis. Still the ability to layer with multiple different block sizes, even with the more limited palate and rotation makes the building system on Enshrouded surprisingly versatile, and natural... I have a horrible feeling this is going to suck me in badly, and I'll spend so long making the things I build look pretty that I will inevitable forget important things, such as thrusters, reactors, you know, simple, unimportant things!!!
Dude, you forgot the giveaway Looking forward to building my Space 1999 Eagles in SE2 when I finally get around to purchasing the game like I have in SE1. It's amazing how far Space Enginners evolved over the years. I remember when ther was next to nothing, since you could only be in space and survive, and now you don't even know where to start or what to admire first and there is still so much to come in the future. The people at Keen Software House are amazing, and I wish them the best.
@@mcmerry2846 At that time, they had fewer people in the studio, and then they also had to split that number into more groups to be able to work on 2 games plus other projects like GoodAI and more. And when ME was not getting enough new players and was just costing Keen money, it was just logical to move the staff to SE and SE2 and fully focus on those because that's what was successful.
@@JumpingFlapjack if you want to play around with it I have a similar ship I was working on in SE1 on the workshop (incomplete since I stopped when SE1 came out but still cool) under “fletcher class destroyer v9”

I am honestly pretty exited for the survival changes, as i loved building while having to consider resources and actually having to weld up the build. Dude, you forgot the giveaway The functional block destruction looks amazing! I hope they make the normal armour block's destruction act a little more interestingly, it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to everything else. Dude, you forgot the giveaway Glad you released this video, it gave me a better grasp on where the game is at right now. Super excited to pick it up and see the continued development.
I would really love it if the fragments breaking off of damaged blocks could fly into other blocks and damage them as well if moving fast enough. It would probably *suck* for performance and I imagine that it would be tricky to implement it in a way that doesn't just cause annoying chain reactions that disintegrate your ship, but spall/fragmentation is a huge factor in how a vehicle is damaged internally when hit by a projectile in real life, and it would be really cool to see that represented in game. But also, Dude, you forgot the giveaway
Dude, you forgot the giveaway. It's pretty cool to see the parallels the developing building games have in their update history. Personally, I am reminded of Scrap Mechanic updates, so I guess let's wait for draggable wedges in Space Engineers too?
Dude, you forgot the giveaway. With the comma, and everything, even a dot of generousity The ability of being able to copy and paste is just for me - useful for MEGA-ships or bases (sometimes I mess up the symmetry or ends up being a boring corridor/room, as it is too time consuming)! Dude! You fOrGoT the GiveAwAy!1!1!1!1! And on top of that, space engineers 2 seems like a good step in the right direction of what space engineers should of started with, it’s a shame that they just didn’t overhaul the original as I’m disappointed with buying the DLC just for a new game to pop up that looks the same with similar features. RIP to the old communities and mods.
The effort to overhaul the old game with all these features would have been tantamount to making a new game so it makes sense for them to go for that. In the meantime, SE1 is still getting updated so for the time being you can enjoy both.

Dude, You most definitely forgot the giveaway! :D
I can't wait when the full npc come out!

Finally compact fully functional shuttles for everyone with the new grid system :D

So excited to see where SE2 goes! The lighting already looks so much better!
dude, you forgot the giveaway. love the vids man, you got me back into space engineers and my brain cells haven't died faster lmao.

It's pretty cool to see the parallels the developing building games have in their update history. Personally, I am reminded of Scrap Mechanic updates, so I guess let's wait for draggable wedges in Space Engineers too?

Can’t wait to see if it runs on Mac using crossover!

First thing I'll be building will probably be a navy ship or a submarine. I'm kind of obsessed with things like that😊

I have not kept up with SE2 at all, but damn it really seems deserving of the sequel title so far at least!
Dude, you forgot the giveaway
can´t wait to try some suspension design for my land crafts in SE2
Dude, you forgot the giveaway. With the comma, and everything, even a dot of generousity
The ability of being able to copy and paste is just for me - useful for MEGA-ships or bases (sometimes I mess up the symmetry or ends up being a boring corridor/room, as it is too time consuming)! Can't wait for multiplayer, although it is a while away
Dude, you forgot the giveaway!
Thanks for the insightful video

I cant wait to see the insane amount of detail people add to the ships with the new grid system
I am really excited to see some of the creations people make!
What people have already made so far are great!

I can't wait to build the ships from the sci-fi TTRPG game me and my friends are playing. It helps so much with adding a sense of scale and shape to the ships we fly around in
I hope there is a development future with the water physics. I dream of a future called Victorian Engineers and you can make all sorts of steam powered contraptions, planes, trains, automobiles, ships, airships, would be neat
Vertical slice 3 is water, should be around a year's time.

I cannot wait to play around with the new grid system. :)
Is SE2 better at making use of more CPU threads? SE1 reliance on fast duo cores was painful.
Also... Dude, you forgot the giveaway.
Yeah, the new engine has much better multithreading and parallelisation
