  • Wayne Kusy has spent the past 50 years building huge scale ships using nothing but toothpicks. His armada has grown to include 11 ships in all including the truly mind blowing Queen Mary. Measuring in at 25ft long, this toothpick boat took over 5 years to build and has over 815,000 toothpicks. Other ships include the Titanic (75,000 toothpicks), The Lusitania (197,000 toothpicks), and The America (275,000 toothpicks). Between his job as a full time IT worker, Wayne makes custom yachts for clients all around the world. For more about Wayne, you can check his website and facebook here:

    Wayne,
Have you considered to use thin flat sticks..like the disposable coffee stirrers you see at the coffee bar on the corner convenience store? You could bend and form them easier than tooth picks. And you could apply waterproof resin to the finished product and paint it. Try it out.
