సముద్రంలో ఇసుకను ఒక చోటు నుంచి తీసి మరొక చోట వేస్తుంది ఈ ఓడ. ఈ ప్రక్రియను డ్రెడ్జింగ్ అంటారు. ఏడాదికోసారి ఈ డ్రెడ్జింగ్ పనులు జరుగుతుంటాయి. డ్రెడ్జింగ్ చేసే ఈ ఓడనే స్థానికులు, మత్స్యకారులు తవ్వోడ అని పిలుస్తారు. తవ్వోడ వద్ద సందర్శకులు సెల్ఫీలు తీసుకుంటూ సందడి చేస్తారు. అసలు తవ్వోడ అంటే ఏంటి? తవ్వోడకు ఆ పేరు ఎలా వచ్చింది?

To prevent sand erosion from sea coat or beaches which is near to popular city I think it better to construct stone pitching structure with boulder stones with new innovative different structure which is useful to prevent sand erosion and also attract tourists,it will also generate revenue.

మామూలుగా పెద్ద ఓడలు వచ్చేటప్పుడు సముద్రం లోతు ఎక్కువగా ఉండాలి ఓడ క్రింది భాగం తగలకుండా రావటానికి. లోతు తక్కువ ఉన్న దగ్గర ద్రెడ్జింగ్ ద్వారా ఇసుకను తీసివేసి లోతు పెంచుతారు.
