Mia secret dehydrator and protein bond young nails makes my client nails last over 4 weeks. My client yesterday came back with her nails still on no lifting after I did her set may 21st almost two months. Nail Prep is so important 🥳
@@CNBBJ oh wow...if only I can experience that with my clients that’ll be a dream come true!!! I use the apres gel nail extensions system because I’m allergic to acrylic and although their system Is great and comes with a dehydrator and primer I find that My clients always experience a nail popping off here and there. @@kayannclevelandramdial98 Hey love, I totally thought I replied to your comment months ago, my apologies for that. I am not very knowledgeable on the Aprés Gel X system, but I do know that I've seen videos on young nails channel where they used the protein bond for gel extensions.
@@giannapaese33 Yes it's worth it, I have been using for a while and have had great retention results. No problem love I'm so glad that this video was helpful for you! I know exactly what you mean about the issues with lifting, it definitely took a minute to find a good technique that worked for me. If you have any special requests regarding things that you would like to see please let me know!
Hi, really enjoyed the simplicity of this video. I’m new to nails and have been using the Apres gel nail extensions system, but sometimes I experience lifting or a nail just popping right off. There system comes with a dehydrator and primer but would you recommend using the young nails protein bond instead to prevent that lifting altogether?
I’m subscribing to you purely based on how nice and helpful you are in the comments you’re awesome keep doin you girl! Can’t wait to see more of your vids 😁
Yes that is the correct order, in the video I stated that I use the dehydrator and then the primer (the YN Protein Bond is a primer). I explained these steps in a couple of my other videos as well. Hopefully this helps.
Hi 👋 if I use this for press on or gel nails. I would dehydrated, primer and then the gel or press on correct? For gel would then be gel polish and top coat.
Hey yes! Nail glue is an adhesive bonding the nail tip to the natural nail. Protein Bond is a primer manufactured and distributed by Young Nails, I think the naming of it tripped you up a little bit there, but I hope this helps! Also, be sure to apply the primer only to the nail plate after adhering the nail tip to the natural nail with the nail glue!
I honestly dont reach for Mia Secret too much anymore, but I can say I definitely recommend valentino so long as you use it with their monomer or one similar to it. But my favorite combo is still the Mia Secret and Young Nails.
Hey so I have a quick question, so let’s say I prime both hands with two coats of YN bond. And I finished laying acrylic on the (left) hand but on (right) hand the primer had dried out , could I still add another coat to ensure adhesion?
I've been doing my own nails for over a year now and I'm having trouble with applying acrylic and its not lasting long at all, with some of my fingers they last but the rest only a day and its good products any advice, I use superglue hard designed for nails then apply acrylic after, some of them are coming up and not lasting the rest stay on just need advice how to help keep them lasting and no chemicals as last time my nails turned green with bad products so I changed to help and still some fell off I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I also use soft tips c curve as tips applied first before acrylic I also use dehydrator before applying and file im so confused
No worries love I understand! So you really should be applying a dehydrator and then the primer, or for example young nails recommends using swipe to cleanse and prep the nail and then applying protein bond. So the dehydrator serves a completely different purpose from the primer (protein bond in this case) as it will help the acrylic adhere to the nail.
Help me please?????? The primer didn't go chalky.... I've been told wait till the primer is chalky then add the second coat of primer....I waited a long time and it never went chalky what's going on? :(
Hey love the primer will never turn chalky, the dehydrator turns chalky as it dehydrates the natural nail. The primer will leave the nail looking a little shiny as it is meant to help the acrylic adhere to the nail. I think you had the dehydrator confused with the primer in this case.
@@Athena-J No an acid primer, would not turn the nail chalky either. Also, yes, alcohol is completely fine to use just make sure you are giving it enough time to dry down. Most dehydrators have a little bit of ethyl acetate(acetone) and isopropyl alcohol in them so the chalky look is achieved at a faster rate. This is mostly due to the acetone, alcohol itself takes a little bit longer to dry down. I hope this helps to answer your question a little more. If not maybe we can set up a video call through Instagram or Zoom so I can see what's happening to give you further advice.
I just wanna know what’s the difference between dehydrator vs primer I got the dehydrator part but what’s the primer for Uhg I just wanna know 🙋🏻♀️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤔
The dehydrator aids in the removal of oils from the natural nail plate. The primer aids the acrylic in the bonding process. If you don't apply primer your nails will definitely lift. Hopefully this helped!
Hi lovely all the way from London here! I recently started out doing acrylics and loved your video! I just wanted to ask if I purchased the young nails primer or Mia secret primer do I need to use that specific acrylic system - I use a British brand glitter Bells so can I use these primers with my powders or do I need to buy yn /Mia secret ones? Xoxox
Heyy thank you so much for this video,,, I do nails and there are time that I do get some lifting on clients and there’s times where they usually last up to 3 weeks to a month. I use the YN protein bond and the mia secret bond together aswell as the mia secret dehydrator. Do you think that maybe that’s causing lifting? Cause like I said there’s time where they last super long so Idkk what I’m doing wrong. Maybe my prep idkkk what it could be. It gets me super discouraged :(
Hey love of course! Could you give me like a list of the steps that you take when prepping? This would give me some insight on what the issue could be. Also are you saying that you use the Mia Secret dehydrator, primer, and YN protein bond all at one time?
Also no need to be discouraged, I know exactly how you feel. It takes time to really get a consistent retention time. Aside from that, some clients aren't as careful with their nails compared to others so that could play a factor into why they don't always last.
Heyyy can you tell me how your experience using the youngnails protein bond is going? I’ve heard amazing things about it and I have it but I stumbled upon a review saying to watch out for allergies I’m not too sure what I should be careful about since I’m new to the nail world but I’ve heard that there’s hema in the protein bond and I just don’t want to give anyone an allergic reaction or give myself one. I would really appreciate your help.
Hey my experience with it has been fine thus far, I definitely avoid getting products on the clients skin surrounding the nail with every product I use as that will help to prevent contact dermatitis. I have actually recently switched over to using Valentino exclusively and I get great retention with all my clients so hopefully this helps answer your question.
Should I put the mia secret xtrabond on my nails before or after I glue on the false tip? I know it's a stupid question but I am just now getting started on my nail journey and do not know if I should place the protein bond before or after the false tip application ☺️
I've seen good reviews on yn bonder. I need something for my reg nail polish that peels in 3 days. I've only been using non toxic nail polish and acetone free remover. I seen another video that says non acid bonder is still harsh on nails. One review on Amazon said it destroyed her nails. I can't even buff the shine off or my nails are bendable. One review said it didn't damage nails. What's your experience w the yn bonder and damage to Natural nails. My nails are strong and healthy (almost too healthy to keep polish on haha) from pure msm but on thin side. Thanks!!
What is the consistency and smell of the young nails primer? I purchased one from amazon, but something is off about it. The smell is strong as well. Thanks 😊
Hey love, so the protein bond actually has a fairly "sweet" smell, like I actually find the scent to be quite pleasant and the consistency is about the same as any primer would be. It definitely shouldn't be thick.
So buffer the nail bed Apply protein bond Then acrylic and file it to blend with nail bed Then apply dehydrator And proceeded with applying powder ?? I want to make sure I’m correct because this is my first time doing nails and I took a class but the teacher was not as detailed as how I would like her to be so that’s why I’m trying to be very detailed and step-by-step
No worries I understand love! 1) Etch the nail with a medium grit (150 grit) file or sanding band 2) Remove any debris from the nail with a manicure brush 3) Apply your dehydrator of choice 4) Apply your nail tips or forms (shape to desired shape 80/80 grit file if using tips and remove any dust and debris with a manicure brush) 5) Apply protein bond (or any primer of choice it doesn't just have to be the young nails protien bond) 6) Apply your acrylic like normal 7) Reshape with a 80/80 grit file 8) E-file 9) Dust off the nail with a manicure brush 10) Buff the nail with a buffer (be sure to buff the top and under the nail) 11) Have the clients scrub their nails with just water and the manicure brush or you can cleanse the nails and surrounding skin yourself with 70% alcohol ( alcohol prep pad for example) 12) Finish out the service with gel top coat and then cuticle oil. I hope this helps!
Hey love, no I don't suggest that you do that. Both the mia secret xtrabond primer and protein bond are primers so they essentially do the same step. You could certainly do the mia secret dehydrator and protein bond together. I hope this helps.
I use my dehydrator then Mia secret Xtrabond and then the protein bond. It works for my clients and their nails last for weeks. But one of my clients said that 3 of her nails popped off. When she showed me her nails they looked etched but I’m not sure if it’s a bad thing to use both primers? Any insights?
Hey love, my clients nails normally last about 4 weeks to a month and a half. I would say be careful with using two primers as they could cause a chemical burn, or cause the client to have an alergic reaction as a result. Aside from that, the clients nail plate probably looked "etched" as a result of the layers of the nail plate being ripped up upon the artificial nail lifting, especially if she hit her nail on something. Hopefully this helps and if you took a picture please DM it to me via my Instagram, so that I can assess the situation further. Thank you for tuning in!
Chic Nails by Biannca J thanks for the reply! And honestly I don’t believe that her nails just “popped off” many clients tend to just blame the tech. And she had so many excuses as to the fact that she didn’t do nothing/ no chore/ heavy handed stuff etc etc. Yet it looked like she peeled off her own nails🤔 but which primer do you use for your clients to get that long of lasting nails? Because you do have many in that video!
@@jamescharles769 Yes, I completely agree with you on that one! As for the combo that I use the most often, it is the mia secret dehydrator and YN protein bond(they are having a huge labor day sale coming up btw). Aside from that I will use the mia secret dehydrator and xtrabond together. As for valentino, I have found that their primer and dehydrator does not work well with other acrylic systems whatsoever, it works best with its own acrylic system. Also keep in mind that I take my time with my prepping process as well to insure that my clients nails last. The two go hand in hand along with application, which I'll be doing an in depth video on that as soon as my new tripod gets here, my last one broke on me. However, in the meantime be sure to check out my prep videos.
hey i have a question. Ima beginner so im still tryna figure lil things out like i have the mia secret XTRABOND where exactly do i apply it, TO THE ENTIRE NAIL OR JUST OUR NATURAL NAIL. sorry if my question was dumb but i really dont kno and ive become very overwhelmed becuz i get alot of lifting still practicing on myself and its not as easy as it seems...plz help thank u so much for ur time. Hope u have a blessed day.
Hey love it only needs to be applied to the natural nail and not the plastic nail tip. If you are still having issues with lifting it likely has to deal with your prep or finish filing (the cuticle isn't being completely sealed). Let me know if you need additional help. I have set up zoom calls with others in the past and they have shown me their process and I have been able to assist them from there.
I recommend that you utilize the dip powder system prep products. For example, Kiara Sky has their own products for their dip line. I actually have a video about it on my channel.
i use mía secret dehydrator and primer but their nails grow out so fast, they don’t lift but after 6 days to two weeks they’ve grown a lot 🥺does YN protein bond helps with that ??
Yes it is! Some techs choose not to use it, but I find that I get the best results when I do versus when I don't. Often times the dehydrator and primer go hand in hand.
Hey love, you may want to check the settings on your device. I just played it of my sisters phone and I was able to hear the sound. Thank you for watching!

8) E-file
9) Dust off the nail with a manicure brush

Hey, question, what powder and monomer do you use?
At the moment I've mainly been using the Valentino System, but I use colored acrylic from just about any brand.
Do you recommend these for dip nails or just acrylic?
I recommend that you utilize the dip powder system prep products. For example, Kiara Sky has their own products for their dip line. I actually have a video about it on my channel.
Is both of the Mia secret ones go good together? And if so do I put primer before dehydrator?
can anyone tel me if i should buy the valentino or young nails primer? i’m stuck on which one is better
Hi, can you explain what is the difference between protein bond and ph bond ?
Hey love the only difference is the brand, they are both primers and serve the same purpose.
I was wondering if the young nails and valentino primer has acid in it, does anyone know?
They are both acid free primers
i use mía secret dehydrator and primer but their nails grow out so fast, they don’t lift but after 6 days to two weeks they’ve grown a lot 🥺does YN protein bond helps with that ??
No it doesn't, I have some clients whose nails just grow out faster than others to be honest.
Good video boo ❤️
Thank you love!
Thank you for the information 💗
Is the dehydrator necessary?
Yes it is! Some techs choose not to use it, but I find that I get the best results when I do versus when I don't. Often times the dehydrator and primer go hand in hand.
Thank you
Thank you for this video
Appreciate it
Of course! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I swear by no lift nails nails primer
no sound
Hey love, you may want to check the settings on your device. I just played it of my sisters phone and I was able to hear the sound. Thank you for watching!
