Definitely my favorite analog synthesizer. Great knob per function. Great fx section by sine vibes. I think they also did the sine wave for the new korg drumlogue.
Nice one..As a new Typhon owner, and still very new to all things synth,I like your approach, explaining,in straightforward words, rather than sitting back, and nodding along to your latest "jam"..Re.Typhon..I'm astounded by what you can get just by fiddling with the presets..it's a start?.Keep up the good work..Stay safe..
Just a word on your theory and some corrections on your terminology Chorus, flange, phaser - except the ones used by Star trek members- ensemble delay and all reverbs are known as Time based effects Of course, if you knew this already you can claim to be both COOL and AWESOME in 50 percent amounts of each attribute.
To further clarify, the reason chorus/flange/phaser are often called 'modulation effects' is because the offset that's mixed back with the source signal is not just delayed.... that time-delay is modulated. :)
Hi! Thanks for this! I am a beginner, i want to effect my MASCHINE mk3 with the TYPHON. I did AUDIO OUTS from Maschine to ext-IN Typhon, put Typhon in EXT and start Maschine BUT: i cannot effect that soundloop! Whats my fault? Can you help? Thanks, Sylvie from germany
Kurt Schiss You Need to use the correct Typhon preset for Audio In, as it needs a Note playing by the step sequencer to open the VCA on the Typhon hence you will hear the sound. RTFM.
Not like an effects processor exactly. Incoming audio still goes through the filter and vca first, so it is still subject to the envelopes. The best thing to use the ext in for is adding a 3rd osc on the same midi channel, for example putting a korg nts1 on it. This would give you a pretty big expansion in sounds.
@@evanfrench my understanding is that the input on the Typhon is mono but it has stereo output. If I’m sending a poly signal into the Typhon is it coming out as poly or mono?
I had the Typhon. The effects sound metallic. And you dont need effects if you record in a daw that is ( not even handy).and mine was verry noisy. Cant remember if the effects section caused that.
my lord, this thing is perfect for making new shit nobody has ever heard before
It's a very modern frame with a vintage engine. Best of all world's.

Really well-explained, beautifully presented. Love it. No nonsense, just straight up helpful. Thank you!
Seconded
Great walk through and love the series 👏🏾👏🏾
great. is it possible to midi control the fx section?

Enjoy! It's a great synth for beginner to advanced.
Im late to the party but I like your style getting one in a few months i want the volca FM too and I might be good for gear for a year haha
Not being able to chain reverb and delay should be changed in a future firmware
Great demo :-)
Not sure you can step sequence MIDI on the Octatrack, sadly.
Don't know if it's the best, but it's damn good!
Nice video! From who is that poster youre standing in front of at 1:00 ?
I love it!
That one comes as a pack in with Moog Matriarch. I got it framed up so it looks sweet.
@@GearSplaining wow cool thanks! Im going to look it up.
Do you have it connected via midi to the mc 101?
usefull video, ty!
Hello from Tallinn 🇪🇪🙋♂️How you've made the beats on typhon?have you aky midi sequencer on the left to do it? Very unbelievable 👈🙌
Yes! There's a Roland MC101 to the side making beats.

Ahh RTFM! Read the Fockin Manual!
Did you know if the Typhon can USB Midi now with the newest Firmware? Thanks
and audio with v4 !!
I thought I heard Tyree Acid Crash.. lol. nice.
Can it process incoming audio with the fx?

Yes, it definitely can.
@@GearSplaining If the envelopes and filter are left open, and you aren't using the synth, it becomes an FX unit, no?

I've had one for weeks and I've been ignoring it. Played it for a few seconds and then.. couldn't get into it. Hoping this video opens me up.
