Ohh my god, this episode turned out so long! x.x Hope you'll enjoy it regardless, I tried my best to keep it short but there was just so much interesting stuff I wanted to keep x)
I believe people kill flying enemy's for two things: earring drops, which could have a really high + value, or violet/ giants in the sky don't have a special attack to worry about, so people can grind those giants with an easier time.
Yes, from what I understand nowadays flying enemies are the only way to drop Plug Earrings which is just like how it used to be in the past, and +6 and +7 variants are definitely worth something. Giants themselves shouldn't be worth the effort unless they give higher chance for earring drops though, as they apparently don't drop any unique weaponry. Can't deny that they're easy though x)
Yeah, the content update of 1.3 revamped the upgrading system a little bit. You have to put an upgrading scroll regardless of upgrade level in order to use the upgrading menu and see how much materials are required ^^ You can then do the upgrade outside of the menu by just double-clicking the elemental card and clicking the weapon once in order to apply it. Upgrading until +3 is safe without scrolls :)
I was lucky enough to have profited on the repair hammers. When I started playing again, the market value here in PH was around 700k. I got a bunch and sold them for 400k. I think I made about 21M just selling them for cheaps.
Ooooh, that's pretty sick! :D I actually kind of missed the peak of Repair Hammers, that's the downside of being a gamer creator. Don't have as much time to take advantage of events and stuff, and not much time to play in general ^^ But regardless, it was a pretty source of extra income. Glad to hear it worked that much in your favor!
Just wondering (and perhaps I missed it at the beginning). I get that you are doing the authentic "new player" experience...but coming back to Universe for the first time I would have hoovered up those 20k petals and other pieces and made a 2-3x profit to give myself penya for future gear. Any particular reason you decided not to do that?
Level 15 set pieces are NOT all that coveted and really hard to sell. It would've become a much bigger drag long-term if I had actually invested my money into them! Level 30 was also going to happen really soon which is the real thing I wanted to save money on :) I do a lot of flipping/trading further down the road when I have more capital, but the beginning straits didn't offer much opportunity for that ^^
@@emenalus I've been selling lvl 45 sets < 100k lmao. I fill my whole shop and sell it all in a day. Move on with life. Even if I put em all 200-300k I would still make more money faster from trash drops. I don't want my inventory full of stuff that takes a whole week to sell xD
@@Nocare89 I think you're being awfully confrontational without taking the whole context into consideration :P Note that this video is already almost a year old by now and a lot has changed by then. Also if you're playing in FWC, prices would be different because the economy has had less time to develop and wouldn't reflect to the prices that I had in Totemia. This discussion also never even mentioned level 45 sets in particular, this was about the level 15 sets which people are universally not so keen about. These would become a thing later down in the series, but at that point I focused more on bigger investments - you'll see for yourself ^^ I also didn't exactly have all the time in the world while making these videos (and edit, I also made these like once a week at best), so vending was one of the best ways for me to make money passively because I *didn't* have the time to consistently make money from trash drops. Grinding would also mean leveling up, so you would also be creeping a step closer to your next gear set or if you already reached that point, taking steps away from it. Vending is a great alternative if you don't want progress to be tied to it and earn money while you're doing other stuff. I won't blame people for using solutions that work the best for them, I only utilized ones that worked the best for *me* x)
@@Nocare89 Alright, sorry for reading into it too much! It's a valid tactic though if you grind a lot, you might end up gathering more greens than you actually sell and it all stacks up. Best get rid of the ones that aren't popular or pricy in the market :)
Enjoying your series to learn about the game! I was wondering if you could provide some advice... I have an Assist and am struggling with landing attacks. I miss so much (or the enemy parry) so much so that it takes much long to defeat an enemy. I saw you recommend 33% hit rate and I may need to get better gear to reach that. But do you have tips on what I could do to improve landing basic attacks? Thanks again!!
Hey there! Glad you're enjoying the series, and of course I'm willing to help! The early levels are particularly tough to land hits in, but it'll get more tolerable as you level up more :) Hit Rate could be improved in the following ways: - Adding DEX (You'll get 1% for every few points) - Accuracy Buff (Gives bonus hit rate, you can learn at level 30) - Equipment (Wearing 2 pieces of 15/30 set pieces grants you 10% hit rate, later weapons may also give hit rate) - Armor Upgrade Effect (Bonus hit rate for having all armor pieces at +3 or higher, recommended after getting a full set). For now, I would focus on trying to get to level 30 and maxing Accuracy, that should pretty much secure the consistency of your attacks. After that, you should consider other good fighting buffs such as Haste, Beef Up, Quick Step and Cannon Ball :) And for 1v1 specifically, you should try to save up for the level 30 set (Talin/Sayram), you'll be wearing it until level 75! Hope this helped, and good luck with leveling
@@emenalus thank you very much, appreciate the tips! I was planning to dump a lot of skill points into Burst Crack as I'm close to level 28, but I may save some for the Accuracy buff. I'll also be on the lookout for the gear sets you mentioned.
@@vrajpatel4932 No, that went assuming that you would go for 1v1! My bad :) If you wanna go AoE, there actually isn't any viable sets to go for until like level 50/60 when you can get your hand on the CW (Yuandain/Rashadain) set at 50 or Shuran/Shurand set at 60. Until then you're honestly good to go with vendor gear x) As for buffs that you might want, you could consider maxing out Stonehand for stunning some of your mobs for less damage taken, Heap Up for extra STA, Patience for extra HP and Cat's Reflex + Cannon Ball for extra block rate. You'll want to build up plenty of STA too, Assists aren't all that durable before they advance to their second job at 60. If you're concerned about building too much STA for later or having too little of it now, you can redo your stats upon job change ^^

Hello to Poland! :) Universe is still purely browser-based and no client of any sorts has been implemented for the game (and I have no clues on them intending on making one either) :/ Glad you've enjoyed the series so far! x)

Some browsers just don't run well and some just don't have proper settings toggled to run the game properly x) I personally use Google Chrome with hardware acceleration on in the browser settings (and everyone else I've recommended it to seem to have ran the game just fine), and I know some who play the game on Opera. Yes, a guide to the pet system is actually part of my future video ideas! I haven't been working on one yet because that thing is actually kind of end-game x) However in this case I can already say that you're a little confused about pets... You see, there are two different kinds of pets: There's Raised Pets, and then there's Pick-up Pets. Raised Pets are the ones that have a diverse system behind them, give you bonus stats and requires you to feed them to help them grow and become stronger. However, they don't have anything to do with picking up items from the ground, they only give you a passive bonus! The ones you're talking about are Pick-up Pets, and they're MUCH more simpler than Raised Pets are. Pick-up Pets are the ones that pick up items on the ground for you, and they're just plug and play - no system whatsoever to be worried about. However the problem comes with the fact that these are premium items - there's no other way to obtain them aside from the premium store with fCoins (premium currency). With their price-tag of 1000 fCoins, they're pretty much always bound to be roughly the value of the standard market rate of fCoins, meaning that they'll always be really expensive and not drop in value. Here in Totemia atleast, the current market rate is roughly 100m per 1k fCoins. If you want a pick-up pet desperately, there's some things to consider: -If you don't mind spending a little, I'd consider just buying a pick-up pet from the store. 1000 fCoins is roughly 10 bucks. - You can buy temporary 15-day pick-up pets from the penya store for about 10-15 million when you get to the point you start making some money but not quite enough to afford a pick-up pet with penya anytime soon. These can be small stepping stones towards affording a proper permanent one. - Flyff Universe sometimes has these consecutive login events, and rewards for some days usually include a 2-day Baby Pink Cobra as a reward. These are pick-up pets too and can help with the most immediate urge for luxury, and it's completely free! Be sure to check out every now and then if it's possible for you to claim one :) - Lastly, this isn't the same as a pick-up pet, but I introduced an alternative on Episode 1. In the motion menu (O for PC), I think the third button from the top called "Pickup Nearest Item" can sort of automate the item picking process for you. Just put it on a hotkey and spam it to pick whatever items are on the ground without having to click those small objects! I'd say it's better than nothing for the time being x) I know pick-up pets are such a huge quality of life thing, but I recommend to exercise patience if you're not willing to spend. But don't worry, you'll get used to it, and you won't even notice when you already have the pocket money for it! ^^
I just honestly had way better luck with finding axes than swords at this point so I just went with it, and personally I don't see that much difference between the two to consider axes a completely negligible option.
