Thank you for the video, lots of great tips. I knew most of them, but there were some new ones and a couple that I hadn't thought to use the feature in that way.
Thank you! I need to watch all of this again to learn more, but the very last tip is exactly what I was looking for. I could not find the setting to change it to process in the order of my layers. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
What another tutor used that made the video much easier to follow was to put a bright yellow highlighter around the cursor so it was easy to follow when you are learning where all the functions are located. Especially as some tutors tend to speak too quickly for newbies. ( I had to slow the playback speed to 75% so my ears could keep up with your speech.) I iearned some good tips from your video. I will watch it again when I have more experience and the tips make more sense to my addled brain.
@@makeorbreakshop indeed. Seconded. There are some very good tips in here. XCS is definitely in a better spot than it was at the beginning of the year. I was actually surprised you didn't show how using a negative outline in XCS can get you a vector inside your selected object. I find that helpful often.
How do I engrave multiple dog tags with different names all at once using the S1 2W IR whilst ensuring every dog tag is perfectly lines up and they all look the same once done. Thanks for all your great vids! Cheers from New Zealand
I would have to do more research to see the math behind the exact differences. But I usually just run a test that has the same image but processed different ways to see which looks better. Usually it’s Jarvis or Greyscale for me.
XCS has come a long way in the last couple of years but it's still a long way behind things like Lightburn. It's unfortunate that xtool are keeping some functions to themselves but I'm guessing they plan on moving XCS to a subscription model eventually and want that captured audience.
Not sure if anyone could help, but I have a Xtool S1 and I scanned an Army plaque picture. When I did auto trace, it traces both sides of the lines of the bit map design, which causes the laser to cut line, then cut again a fraction over. I thought it was mistakenly set to more than one pass, but it wasn’t. I zoomed in and that’s when I saw that auto trace ended up tracing both sides of the single lines. Is there anyway to keep it from tracing both sides of one line? Ok, sorry, I’m sure that didn’t make much sense. 🤷♂️
in newer versions of xcs, you can select center line trace as an option. so it sees both lines but lays down an average between the two as a single line
Good video, but would have appreciated a 2 parter with each part being 20-22 minutes. You go way too fast here and while I can adjust the speed, the slower speed distorts your voice and its more annoying than going too fast.
Lots of tips, mostly way too fast and not enough depth. It would nice to have this as a series of shorter videos go8ng deeper on most topics. Just a thought.
Wow!!! You’re an incredible teacher! Thank you!!👏👏👏
So much good info. New to engraving so definitely this is going to help. Sub Club
This is an awesome video!!! Thank you!
You bet!

Wow Thank you. I'm just starting out so this is great!

Great vid! Earned a sub 😁
Thanks for the sub!
how did i not know XCS had snapping. im so slow. thanks man. great video
ha me either until I started doing more research for this video!
A nice video for all of us new to graphic design as well as lasers. How can you change text in XCS without starting over?
if you add the text in through XCS you can edit it just by double clicking.
@@makeorbreakshop Thanks for that information I knew it was user error trying to do it.

You can't. It's not a function "yet," but they do claim they're working on it for implementation in a future xcs update/version.
@@Connorsdaddy12062008thanks mate!
Thank you so much!! If (unless you already have?), can you explain all the processing options? Stuki, Bayer, Jarvis, etc...

The little window, next to Framing, only has speed for the M1 Ultra and D1. Still have to "Go to process" for jog controls.
good call

Great video but it’s more for an advanced user as you go so quickly and half the things we still trying to learn
How do I get test files for the F1 ultra?
Coming soon, still working on them!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I knew a lot of them but the vector section and A1 were really helpful. 😊
is this creative space just for S1 I have an M1 and My creative Space looks different. do i need to upgrade software?
There is a 2.0 version that as a pretty big update. Should work with the M1 too!

Pls turn off beep sound s1
My dog go crazy!!
xCS tips, not laser tips.
