Thank you so much for watching, and for commenting. We are glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I thought I knew Andy Griffith trivia like no other. As far as my friends who love the show, I could probably take any of them. But when I got up there against people who live, eat, and breathe it, I felt really ignorant. But we loved the experience, and can't wait to get back this September. I imagine that was a thrill, getting to see Charlene.
Glad you enjoyed your first visit to Mayberry Days. This was our 7th time, 6th as Barney (I was the one who gave you a ticket for loitering). I would encourage you to come again next year and buy tickets for the Colonel Tim's Talent Time show. It is on Saturday night at 7pm. The stars will speak, talent show winners perform and tribute artists perform skits and scenes from the show. You will laugh a lot. 10-4. Out and under. In and over. Uh, bye.
Yes, I looked you up afterwards, from your name on the ticket. You giving me that ticket was the highlight of my day. I have to say that you and Floyd are the best at doing imitations of the characters, that I've ever seen. You literally sound just like Barney. Just don't let me catch you out of uniform... LOL. We have every intention of coming next year, Lord willing. And yes, we want to see that show. But thanks for the memory. I thought that was worth putting in the video. I'll have to commit some other infraction next year, so you can do it again.
@@NCMemoryMakerssuch a small world! And funny thing, we’re watching the Minne-sotah video about Shawnasi’s home. My maiden name was Kimbril. Often confused with Kimball.
As a baby boomer, I remember when Andy Griffith premiered in the fall of 1960 , I was 5. How nice it is this video and thank you for the extra time filming all the characters and the trivia. I've always wanted to visit Mt. Airy and so nice to see it through your eyes and your video. Skipping down memory lane for sure. Sincerely. Sharon😊
Thank you so much for your comment. We are very glad you enjoyed the video. If you do get the chance to visit there, I would highly encourage it. We are already making plans to go back next year for Mayberry Days.
Your Mayberry and camping videos are my favorites. One of our local churches used to put on a “Mayberry Christmas” play every year. It was the one where Ben tried to get put in jail so he could be part of the Christmas party. The actors matched their character so well. Thanks for all you do.
We have talked many times about going to Mount Airy, but we have never been. We LOVE the Andy Griffith Show (the first 5 seasons mostly until Barney left). Thanks for taking us along with you to Mayberry Days. We sure did enjoy it! What a fun time!
So glad you enjoyed the video. You should take a trip there if you get the chance. And I fully agree, that the black-and-white episodes with Barney, are the best. By far.
I love Andy Griffith show too 😊 I have all episodes on dvd also. Such a great show. I watched this whole video of yours and it’s wonderful. I am going to watch it again. Thanks so much for showing us all this. Some time I want to go to that event. God bless 🎉
What a great video. Well worth the wait. So many characters taking me back in my younger days way younger days. Watched all of these characters in the tv show then and now. We still enjoy watching the show and remembering each event.
Yes, that is so true. The show really does take you back, and seeing the characters that are still keeping the show alive today, shows how loved it is in the hearts of so many.
Thanks so much for doing this video! My husband and I really enjoyed watching and hope to go soon. We love all the variety that y’all incorporate into your channel and look forward to watching everything you post. Thanks for all the work you put into bringing quality material and a little fun loving humor for us to watch!😊
Sorry to comment again so soon but this has become one of my favorite videos that you have done and I keep watching it over and over. I have never been to Mayberry Days but after watching this and seeing how much fun you had I hope to attend it next year. Thank both of you for bringing back a lot of good memories of a simple and blessed time in my life.
Great video. We went to Mount Airy in 2021 and had a great time. The squad car tour, Snappy lunch, the Andy Griffith Museum, and the Mayberry courthouse. One of our favorite things was sitting on the bench in front of Wally's sharing a diet Cheerwine. We were surprised we didn't see any Ernest T. Bass impersonators in your video.
There were no Ernest T. impersonators, nor Aunt Bee impersonators. We were talking about that, as well. We definitely thought someone would be doing Ernest T.
You were right about it being a long video, but I enjoyed it so much that I watched every minute of it, Thanks for taking us along on your trip. God Bless both of you for doing these videos,
We appreciate you taking the time to watch the entire thing. I tried to shorten it as much as I could. The original version was over 2 hours. I just didn't see what else I could cut out, and it still be worth watching.
Looks like yall had a great time. So cool you got a picture with Andy Griffiths daughter. Tina and I went to the antique mall, ate at the snappy lunch and Barney's when we went last month it was so much fun. Sorry Derrick about your trivia bomb. Lol you still did better than we would. We watched your entire video and enjoyed every minute. Thanks for sharing.
Loved this video!!! The whole trivia thing was a riot😅. I have the trivia game too and thought I knew the trivia too .... nope I didn't. It is hard to be humble especially when we think we know Mayberry trivia. LOL. 🤣
Lol! That is so true. I honestly thought I would at least place in the top 5. I never dreamed I wouldn't even earn a spot in the main competition. Thank you for watching. So glad you enjoyed it.
Enjoyed this video so much!! Hate you had such a hard time with your equipment. This is one of our favorite videos y’all have done. Close second to the recent Cades Cove video with the gentleman that was a decendent of one of the original settlers in the area. Thanks again for your hard work and commitment to your channel that we enjoy so much! Safe travels🙏🏻
Thank you so much for watching. We know it's a long video, but we just had so many things happen there, that we thought people would enjoy. Glad to know you did.
Great job of the video. I used to go every year from 2014 till 2019 and unfortunately I have not been able to get back there again since then. The one thing I like about your video, it the fact that it was your first time going to a Mayberry Days and I think this video will encourage others who have not yet been to make it a point to go ! Just before Keith Thibodeaux spoke at the Mayor's proclamation the fellow before him was Dennis Rush who was another one of Opie's friends named Howe Pruitt. He is a great person and has a very interesting background as a child actor....It is always fun to see them, I miss it so much. Mayberry Days is a very special event! Hope you were able to go to some of the shows like Professor Browers Lecture and Karen Knotts show and the grand finally Col Harvey's Talent Show on Sat Night, these are great to attend and also Ronnie Schell.
Thanks for sharing. So glad you enjoyed our video. Our one regret from our visit to Mayberry Days last year, is that we did not go to the shows. We are going back this year, to fix that. We are very excited!
yes, I remember my first time going I was the same way, it was kind of overwhelming. We did go to Col Harvey's Talent Show on the first visit. We discovered the program and events paper that is put out called Mayberry Confidential and it list all of the events and shows so the next time we went we were more prepared, some shows sale out before the festival begins so you can go to the website and plan ahead of time, just google Mayberry Days schedule and you will find it. @@NCMemoryMakers
I can relate to what you are saying. The first time I went there it was overwhelming trying to absorb and trying to figure out everything. @SandhillDigger Yes, this past year, we decided sort of on the spur of the moment, to go. There were a lot of things we found out that go on, that we didn't really get to take in last time. We're going to change that this year.
highly entertaining! delightful show! Daniel Roebuck played Garry Marshal in a biopic about Mork and Mindy and also played in a Columbo episode. He also played Fred Silverman in a biopic about Threes Company

Thanks for commenting about Andy's pant leg being in his boot. Years ago, I wondered if anyone else noticed that. After going to Mayberry Days for the 1st time in 2022, I now know they do. And they are quick to point it out, if my pants are not in my boots. Ha. Fun stuff.

We probably watch Andy a couple times a week. I think my favorite episode was the Christmas one. Hope you get your new camcorder fixed. Good thing you took a back up camera. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you enjoyed it. I returned the faulty camcorder, and they are refunding my money, so I purchased another one from them. Yes, it is the best show ever!
Wonder why you didn't go to any of the shows, or events in the playhouse & arts center? Those are a big part of Mayberry Days. They added some extra shows this weekend when tickets sold out.
No need to wonder. Just ask. Because we already had a very full schedule of doing the things we wanted to do. We were also very tired by the evening, and were there with our pets. There is always next year to mix it up and do other things.
That would be cool to have! It is so funny that episode was on tonight. I was talking with my 95 y-o grandma this afternoon. While talking about her high school, she sang the school song in entirety. Andy and Barney sang theirs at the end of the show.
@pattivanderhart2221 Yes, when Andy and Barney sing it at the end of the episode "Class Reunion", it's a very poignant moment. I just watched it the other day.
