they helped my family growing up, I will never forget my life changing experience there as a child who grew up in a home of domestic violence. all shelters are not made equally but House of Ruth always stood out as one of the better shelters!
I never knew House of Ruth was an organization! I always thought it was just here in Pomona. My mom found therapy there and I always felt welcomed. Thank you for everything and thank you Jackie! I know so many of the people need this to lighten up and heir life.

It was the honesty about Fenty Skin for me. As someone who’s been watching the beauty community since I was probably 12, I finally appreciate someone being honest about celebrity skincare rather than hyping it up because they like the celebrity (while on the sneak their skin is breaking out and irritated).

Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin will always be near and dear to me because the beauty launch was so iconic due to the range of shades and marketing was A-MA-ZING, and packaging is everything. However, none of the complexion products or skin products do it for my skin. I have dry skin and everything is very drying, and the skincare broke me out after 2 uses so I returned it. BUT THE LIPSTICKS and the primers and the glosses do it for me every time.
@Kesha Coffee super agree with this comment and thank you for sharing some insight on your experience with Fenty!! I am in the same boat with you with the dry skin (ugh) BUT the lipsticks are pure bangers honestly. I got my mom one for Christmas and she loves it! Thank you for sharing your experience. The packaging really is everything! I do have to give it to Rihanna because the foundation packaging is so beautiful! I would however be open to trying her hydration line (I think that’s what it’s called for foundations where it’s not as mattifying), so maybe there might some improvement with the skin irritation. Have you been able to try it?

Im really glad you talked about the trend of hoarding makeup. This was popular when I was in college and I remember feeling bad because I couldnt keep up. Today I’m grown and I only own the makeup I actually use (along with a few extras for fun).
I agree. I'm in my 40s now and I have about a shoebox of special makeup (foundation, blush, brushes, etc) and a case about the size of a paperback that holds the makeup I reach for the most often. That's it! It's so freeing!!

Hourglass lowkey whiffed it on their inclusivity though. They were doing so well with like their powder, foundation, highlighter, and blush ranges (can't speak to the bronzers) but their holiday palettes were always like... shades for light skin, which is a choice.
