I changed out the carpet on my 93 Caprice LTZ many years ago. The factory carpet with the rubber backing felt like it weighed about 50 pounds. Put in the new with minimal dynamat. I could hear the road like there was a hole in the floor! You definitely need all of what you did if you take out the stock carpet. If your carpet is good like my 96 SS, you can dye it as long as you brush it in. About a n 8 hour tour to swap from what I remember.
Agree. The backing on the aftermarket wasn’t as good, but it still had a backing. Just missing in a few places. The dynamat and insulation seems to help more with ac and heat, maybe a little quieter, but overall it’s a solid upgrade. Plus my kids dirty shoes won’t show as much on the black :)
Jt, I bought a leather care kit from the chemical guys. My seats look almost like new leather now. It cleans a lot of oil and dirt you don’t even realize is there and lightens the color back up quite a bit. I bet if you do the passenger seat and headrest it will make a difference in color.
I have a 96 myself, but it’s the cherry metallic. I want to do some of the same interior upgrades. Overall though, you’ve done really good with the inside. I have a switch for my fans too. Keep up the great work!
Why did you put a switch on your fans cuz I got a 96 and the primary fan quit working I'm trying to figure out what the problem is secondary works as long as you turn on the air conditioner but the other one is getting no power what's the problem do you know
Thanks for watching - going to film some after I do a bit more dialing in. I made a slight breakthrough this week - just another small step and piece of the puzzle. You will hear it run very soon!
Great video! Speaking of the LED swap... did you change the rear seat coat hook lights? If so, how in the world does that bulb come out? The fixture comes out easy but that bulb is another story!
I have not attempted the rear coat hanger lights. I did the front footwell, door indicator lights, and trunk light in LED. Considering the dome light - not sure I wanna risk breaking the coat hook light fixtures... Thanks for watching!
I have a 96 I bought new in June of that year. Which fans are activated with the switch under the dash? And how much did the redo of your driver seat bottom cost?
If you look up "Innovative Wiring" - Gary will make you a harness that turns on the e-fans, which cool the radiator and fluid. The complete seat was redone, bolstering, foam and leather all around. Reach out to "Spotlight Customs" in Akron for current pricing, but it ran me about $700 for all parts/labor.
Switch is just a basic switch I put in line, nothing fancy. The USB/HDMI is from Amazon, drilled a hole and installed it. Link is below: amzn.to/2X0uFz4
Yes! Well I figured out I had a leaky injector on the passenger side. I changed plugs, the injector and it smoothed out a lot. Going to do a few small things - just to iron out and make it run even better. Video is coming!
The center caps on the wheels are actually from a cavalier. I made a how-to video: Impala SS OEM Wheel Center Cap Upgrade - SUPER EASY! ruclips.net/video/VPaGLvtlYlI/видео.html
I think they folded a little over a year ago. From what I heard, messed up with too many people. Kinda sad because they carried a ton for the platform.
Hit this guy up - www.rassbot.com/ Super nice, will do custom work and overall good quality. I went with the plain, just cause it blends right in there and looks so clean compared to the stockers that are flimsy.

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot and see. It’s not too bad now, but if I’m being picky one day I want a little bit better of a match.
Good staff . Can't wait for see the impala runing
That back car seat cover is cool. Where can I look for that seat cover
Hmmm honestly my dad got em back in like ‘96 - not sure where and if they would even be around now. Fits pretty well though!

I’d check relays and wiring. I did the fans just to turn them on at my leisure. They work normally as the pcm commands them though.
Cool shirt my dude... Keep up the great work.
Luv the impala hard work pays off right. Still waiting to hear her 🏃♀️ tho lol keep the video coming thanks and have a great day ✌🏾

Very nice I'm working on my interior right now looking for lower dash bezel very hard to find
Agreed! If you can find a caprice one, sometimes that helps. Just paint it up.
It’s a guy name Chris Lopez in the impala ss group on Facebook he make some pretty good mats and dash covers custom to your liking for a good price
Thanks!
Did they make a custom seat foam? The bolstering looks cool!
Yes the bottom was redone from scratch and the bolstering was added on. Then leather cut to match. Thanks!
we got nice cars 🍻👌
i like that impaala

@@RubberCityMotoring were did you buy the black carpet ?
Back when Street Trends was in business. Even then though, had issues with the order.
So did they figure out what's going on with your tune or still running lean or no?
Yes! Well I figured out I had a leaky injector on the passenger side. I changed plugs, the injector and it smoothed out a lot. Going to do a few small things - just to iron out and make it run even better. Video is coming!
Sweet! I've been following your journey as I debate on installing the Torqhead on my '94 Vet. Glad things are running well.
Where can I buy the handles
Check on Rassbot on the Impala SS Forum on Facebook. Or get to him through this link - store.rassbot.com/Aluminum-Radiator-Shroud_p_12.html
Do you still have that extra carpet for sale? LoL I need it if u still have?
Believe it or not... I do. Was planning to pull it from the attic soon. Email me if you want to discuss: JT@rubbercitymotoring.com
@@RubberCityMotoring I emailed you not sure if you got it

@@RubberCityMotoring thank you
How do you change the dome light?
Not sure. I haven’t had to touch mine yet....
Where did you get the seatbelts from ?
I had bought one years ago and had it in storage.
What problem did you have with your odometer and how did you fix it?
It was the classic fading odometer - used a kit from NAISSO which is soldered in.
Ok thanks
Where is the link for the radio...
Which radio? The Pioneer I have installed?
@@RubberCityMotoring yeah JT the new one you just installed...
amzn.to/2M6AjeZ - Here ya go, $299
I NEED SEATS OR GET NEW SEAT FOR A GOOD PRICE HELP PLEASE!
Not sure. Check online a few places, see what you come up with.
What seat cover did you use for driver side??
It’s a custom job. Had the entire seat redone. Foam and leather. Not much is original.
is street trends still around
I think they folded a little over a year ago. From what I heard, messed up with too many people. Kinda sad because they carried a ton for the platform.
@@RubberCityMotoring
Sure is a shame.
Where do we go for parts!!????
Why do your videos keep blacking out?
Not sure buddy - make sure your device is updated and good to go. Seems to be working fine for almost everybody else? Thanks for trying though.
Where did you get the door handles?
