The trick with premium plus seats is to upgrade after you book. If you book it up-front, it usually costs around 1k more than economy, but if you just book economy and then upgrade it's typically only 300.
I just upgraded on my connections heading to Denver which is the longer portion. So I upgraded to Economy Plus from IAD -DEN heading out and then Upgraded DEN-ORD on the way out and it was only $179 !
I just did the upgrade for our trip from ORD to CDG. We had originally booked the Economy seats back in April. At first, to upgrade to Premium Plus was about $600 per seat. I also saw it go as high as $1,300. Just yesterday, both the flight to Paris and the return to Chicago was available in Premium Plus for only $330 per seat. We quickly booked those seats.
got back from japan about 2 months ago. going back next month, chose united airlines this time instead of zipair (zipair aint really worth it anymore). all that is bearable for the price i got the round trip for which was $430. beats any airline at that price
@ nothing wrong with zipair. Just don’t think the value is there. Got my united airlines ticket for 450, came with check in bag, carry on, personal, food, drinks, snacks and first seat pick was free all included and that is a round trip. For zip air I’ve paid both times around 1000 and all it had was a check in, seat pick and food.Yes for zip air you can take a personal and carry on but can’t pass 15lbs combined
Premium Plus, to Japan, maybe, but Economy? Economy Plus is the same seat as economy but gives you a couple more inches of leg room. I'm going there on vacation, in April 2025, and am going Polaris. 787-9, or 787-10. Haven't booked yet.
That's me. I ordered 2 seats for me and my wife. Not only are we stuck in basic economy seats because that's all we can afford,we also can't even sit together because nothing was left but middle seats. 14 hours separate in basic economy seats. And our flight is 6 months from now. Houston to Tokyo btw.
$150 to upgrade to economy plus, dont really care about the extra legroom TOO MUCH (lol), earlier boarding is nice. Is it worth it for a 13 hour flight you think? Idk if you happen to see this but thanks so much and amazing video to see you 2 talking but also showing us what it actually looks like too!
Or use JAL or ANA United is absolutely the worst airline in the world Even the plug at their gate doesn’t work while Singapore Airline gate next to United have a working plug
kind of ridiculous what those US corporation do, on a flight 10 to 15 hours the don't even give you anymore enough space to breath ? Thought its a health hazard on those super long flights ! US carriers always been the worst in compare to Asian Airlines or European Airlines ! Now the play games with Economy Plus and Premium Plus, how can the seat be even bigger if the configuration is the same as the seat in Economy behind you ?? I made a mistake by choosing to book through United App, thought the flight was operated by Cathy Pacific but ended up on #united which for sure will be a nightmare 15 hours and bad food !

We have been seeing that lately but we don't always get that option and the best we can get is Economy Plus.

Thanks for the review! It’s nice to have some honest insight. ❤
You're very welcome! Haha, we get VERY honest with our airline reviews😆
Thank you!

Is there a reaaon why you dont like zipair? I was considering them because of their lie flat seats

wow those seats on united 787 are so tight. I feel sorry for those people going to singapore with that same plane

Nice video. I am taking those exact flights in a few months. Thanks for the sneak peek.
Yay! Enjoy your trip :)

To me, the extra legroom is totally worth it for a long-haul flight. But if you don't care about that, regular seats will be just fine for you!
Premium has gone up a lot, i'm flying to Hanoi Singapore airlines and the ticket is £1000 more than economy (£900)but still worth it.
Totally worth it! Singapore Airlines is nice👍
Did you think it was worth paying for the upgrade on your return trip to LAX?
100% worth upgrading on our return👌
how much over was your luggage. Usually united takes 51 pounds without any issue.
It was way over 50 pounds. Probably close to 60.
Chicken class is always like that everywhere, don’t be cheap and upgrade
Don't be cheap,or don't be poor?
Or use JAL or ANA
United is absolutely the worst airline in the world

I love you ladies

I’d rather fly Singapore air or ana airlines their premium economy is so much better
Food is always better flying back from Japan. Going there? They serve what I call fodder.
rice balls to the rescue!
Can never go wrong with rice balls!
your hand luggage look so heavy. So should have check it in
Fly business class..that solves all these problems.
