Love the idea of the keyless entry keypad, so I can leave the keys in the car. However, I don’t like the look of it on the door, so I ordered it separately and attached it on the inside of the fuel door, to hide it.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people doing that. I don’t hate how it looks, but I may also move it at some point. Possibly when I wrap it, because that will be a good time to remove it.
Thanks, I was able to add a new code. It probably doesn't allow you to write over the old code in case something goes wrong and then there's no default anymore. After you punch in the factory code you have to hold the 1-2 button until you see the light flicker. Then you can punch in your new code.
What do you press if you want the number 2 as your first number. If you press the 12 you're going to end up getting a one and then a two just as you did.
Only thing I would add is that you have to enter your new code within 5 seconds for it take. I was doing it too slow then I read where it has to be done within 5 seconds.
For Broncos with factory remote start, Ford website says "Requires Dealer Service Tool (IDS/FDRS)" Do you know if it has to be programmed at the Dealer? I assume yours does not have factory remote start? Thanks
I notice that when you unlock your new code unlocks all doors as I can here it and also see the lock move on the passenger door. Ford's standard behavior had been to only unlock driver and then push 3-4 to unlock the rest. My Exploer and my Bronco Base require the extra step to unlock all doors. My Bronco Black Diamond unlocks all like yours here. I wonder how unlocking all can be enabled/disabled so I can make both my Broncos act the same.
It should not. i was told not. If your fear is someone taking the key from the inside and starting the car, they would first have to type in the code on the keypad. This is what I was told from the Bronco forums.

Ok, simple question: The first button is a "1|2" shared button. How does it know I am pressing the "2" instead of the "1" ? Yes, I know, mind blowing question. Think this is like a 80s gimmic? Who wants to press a code every time? Whats wrong with the key fob? Or keyless like the JLs? But great how to video anyways :-) Greetings from Sweden / Europe
It’s a really nice feature to have if you need to get in but don’t have the key with you. Also, a lot of people like to lock their key inside when they go to the beach or a concert and don’t want to carry their key.
Not sure if you can do this with the Bronco, but back before I had my Bronco, I had a Grand Marquis with keypad and it was nice to be able to leave your car running and lock the door while you run into the store real quick (in winter, to keep car warm) and come out and key yourself back into the car. I used to do this ALL the time. It was great! When I ordered my Bronco, I KNEW I wanted that keypad, so that's how I ordered it.

Thanks! It is pretty amazing!

You can relocate the factory one also
@@tatersnmusterd5665 I’m probably going to do that when I wrap mine.
How do you program a aftermarket one?
Does it have any issues being mounted that far from the door?

Thank you so much for this!
Always glad to help!
Thanks again! Just reprogrammed my bronco! The dealership said you couldn’t do in on broncos. 😂

On your touch screen:
1- settings
2- vehicle
3- locks
5- remote locks
5- change to “drivers door” or “all doors”
On my way to steal your stuff 😅 hey great video 👍

Cool!
Thanks Dave!
Do your tips work for the Bronco Sport?
It should work the same
How is the key pad already programmed to my bronco? I enter the code but nothing happens? Feels like we are missing a step.
The keypad on my 2-week-old Bronco Sport works intermittently when locking. Is there some trick not listed in the owner manual?
That’s weird, it should work consistently
Will the car still start if you lock the key in the cab with the keypad?
It should not. i was told not. If your fear is someone taking the key from the inside and starting the car, they would first have to type in the code on the keypad. This is what I was told from the Bronco forums.
So I can leave me key fob in the Bronco of I lock up using the keypad?
yes
If mine doesn’t have the keypad is there a way to add it after delivery?
I believe there is, but you may have to have the dealer program it to your vehicle
Can you add this to a base model?
Yes, my base sasquatch has it and I've already added my custom code to it
