joe Douglas just drafted the offensive and defensive rookies of the year, he also helped build a top 5 defense. who wants the job if that performance gets you fired?
The Cardinals’s Cliff Kingsbury drafted Josh Rosen and after just one season, he dropped Rosen and drafted Kyle Murray. Joe Douglas, on the other hand, is too pig headed to admit he goofed up big time on Zack Wilson!
Correction Cardinals Cliff Kingsbury never drafted Josh Rosen Steve the draft genius unparalleled drafted Rosen ,few only Cardinals have managed to draft so miniscule number of football players have the average shelf life of ripe bananas, Steve Keim freeagency not fared better Bidwell just couldn't arrange equitable entrusting of financial resources paying the runt Murray for sideline cheering guaranteed no less Rosen was poisoned by poor coaching Kingsbury played no part in that .Notice Vance Joseph defense gave up 70 Yesterday Cardinals thought he was head coach material Kingsbury wasn't allowed to select his own staff. @@jodybrown4956 To be fair, Rosen has been given multiple opportunities with many teams. They guy couldn’t even crack the practice squad. Obviously, there are multiple deficiencies in his game that every coach can see. He’s not better than Zach Wilson. Obviously.
Joe D has fallen victim to the sunk cost fallacy. They won't move off Zach Wilson until the season is already over, and they are 1-5. He has the physical tools, but just doesn't have the football acumen between the ears. Bet they wish they had kept Mike White (despite his salary) now, right? Don't feel too bad for Zach though. He's already pocketed $35 million. He'll be alright. BTW, I've said it before, but every time I see this show, I fall in love with that version of the Jets helmet all over again. That helmet is fire!
Do you really think Mike White would have beaten Dallas and Buffalo? I mean really, 30 yards rushing against the Pats, they rushed five all game long. How about an adjustment on play calling. Still, Zach is not your man but who is? I mean AR lasted three plays because the line can't block.
@@h20s56 Zach is not the reason why the Jets beat Buffalo. So, yes, Mike White would have won that game too. And as for Dallas, they probably would have lost even with Rodgers. That being said, though, Dobbs just beat Dallas. At least with Mike White the Jets would have had a chance.
I don’t understand why they don’t sign Colt McCoy. I think he’s a FA, so it wouldn’t cost any draft picks. Maybe he’s injured or has no interest in playing for the Jets?
Two seasons ago, he QBed the Cardinals to a victory over the 49ers ( the team I root for)31-17. McCoy went 22 out of 26 passing attempts, close to 270 yards, 2 TDs. He’s a game manager type, but I think Joe Douglas owes it to Jets players to give them a shot at the playoffs this season. McCoy provides that. @@MountainRain-hb8zd
The Jets best option is to just let it ride. Theres no QB who gets them to win the Super Bowl so unfortunately youre in tank mode. Either get a olinemen for Rogers or you get the QB to actually learn behind Rodgers (who will be mad you did that).
I wish more people realized this and understood it, like it sucks how things have played out, but the best thing they can do now is just suck for the season as much as possible and address the larger issues they have come this offseason, no QB available is lifting this team above the middle of the pack at best, and it's too late to fix the OL or get another WR that can contribute. They just need to take the L's this year and clear some space and make their moves next offseason and hope they get a good draft pick to get an heir to Rodgers who will provide insurance if he's not healthy or hurt again next year.
@@aaronh3347 The tank mindset is toxic to the team overall though. As an owner, a coach, a GM etc, you have to show your players that you give a damn. If Zach starts the whole season and we continue to lose while he is essentially useless out there, you will see this talented roster start to look for greener pastures. Then what? Rodgers may retire because the team is falling apart and he doesn't want to put his legacy on the line any further? No. We need to keep the hope alive in the team and the players that we have. These guys need something to believe in. We need to make a move for another QB. Rodgers might not like it, but even he should understand that we can't just let Zach hold this team back. The kid wasn't supposed to see the field for two more years. He isn't, and may never be, ready.
@@wallywanker7435 I can sympathize, but one more year when things are actually set up nicely for a decent run, and possibly for a long term run of success isn't going to really hurt you. You can't change that Rodgers is done for the year, no free agents or trade targets are going to make the team drastically better. We just have to suck it up and be bad and take the short term pain for the long term success in my opinion.
A few years ago Eagle fans were treating Jalen Hurts the same way Jets fans are treating Zach. Imagine if they had got what they wished for back then if so they would be pining for a QB just like the one they have right now.
After 3 years I've seen enough of Zach Wilson. He looks like he has made no progress since last year. He looks like the same exact QB that lost to the Pats last year
At this point, Zach mentally is like tired in a sense of low confidence and not having the oline help him out in that sense. Also when he snaps the ball it is like he has the yips still. Like he is scared to make a mistake like the Dallas game in the first half that he is trying really hard to not make a mistake but it’s like an internal and external weight on him really bad.
awful for this year, but it could be really good for the long term, and at this point I'm more concerned about the long term than I am this year, because this year is a wash it was a wash the second Rodgers went down, there is not FA or trade available QB that is going to fix the issues the Jets have, but if they clear some cap space, get rid of Carl Lawson, cut Wilson, get out from the contract of Corey Davis, maybe get out from the Laken Tomlinson deal, suddenly they can free up some cap space and roster spaces to maybe address a multitude of needs, and best case maybe they draft Caleb Williams, worst case maybe they get a package deal of a bunch of picks that can help fill more holes on the roster and give the team a better shot next year with Rodgers.
Who cares who the QB is when your offensive line can't block for shit. Aaron Rodgers would be getting lit up behind that line. He's gun shy from being hit so often.
Why?? Why??? Why are fans so stupid? Dude, it’s not the OL. He can’t play QB in this league. Do you know that every down has 8-11 guys in the box. The defense has zero respect for ZW to throw so they stop the run and blitz. They dare him to throw. The offensive line can’t block 9 defenders.
Lmao and by next year when Zach’s gone all of these guys will be in lockstep saying he wasn’t an NFL caliber starting quarterback. The locker room is legit a week away from complete self destruction and division
To be fair, the only QB from Zach Wilson's draft that actually is a solidified passable starter is Trevor Lawrence. Justin Fields and Mac Jones are 'meh' personified, and Trey Lance is buried deeper on the Cowboys depth chart than Jimmy Hoffa.
Mac in his rookie season won 7 games straight. I haven't seen Trevor or any of those other rookies you named come close. Save that 'meh' for somebody else like Zach and he's not even that. I dare him & the Jets to string together 7 straight wins.
If not Zach Wilson then who? Carson Wentz, Nate Peterman or maybe Colin Kapernick? If there were any good QB's out there someone would have picked them up.
I have never seen a team or more specifically a head coach be filled with so much denial over a player. the Jets need to coddle and protect Zach Wilson is unbelievable. the statements yesterday of Zach gives us the best chance to win is unbelievable. I honestly believe that there's something else going on like a promise or deal was made or that Coach Saleh is trying to protect Douglas and Wilson to the detriment of the team
This a major part of the reason the patriots are a better orginization. We won't cut bait! We never put the team first, and give every drafted QB too many years. We refuse to actually look at someone's performance instead of the draft or free agency status.
the way zack wilson just turns his back to a rush and expects his legs can abil him out by running backward 6-8 additional yards, reminds me of bad madden players. He turns 5-6 yard sacks into 12-13 yard sacks consistantly, its poison. Joe Namath said it best, he does things that are not indicative of a qb let alone an nfl qb.
If Zach starts going forward, you need to start the countdown to Douglas and Saleh getting fired. They own every loss that Zach starts. Namath had to come out and say enough is enough, because the front office and the coaches are completely blind to the QB situation.
Wilson could be a coach. Pretty smart guy. Just can't do the job. Reminds me of Orlovsky. Great breaking down film, he just can't process and see it in real time on the field.
Sad thing is that this video came across my feed on Nov 21 and I'm listening to it as if it were just posted. It wasn't until Boomer brought up the "upcoming game against the Chiefs" that I looked at when it was posted. If that doesn't scream "Same Old Jets" I don't know what does.
Any free agent QB that has intent to get back to the NFL should avoid the Jets unless he really needs the money. The offense as a whole is a failure, there is no identity or strategy to maximize the talent they have. Look at the successful offense teams in the league, they have a system to get the most out of the talent they have.
They are not being stubborn, they are just trying to save their backsides. Don't forget they pounded the table for Zach Wilson so much so whereby even when the 9ers called up to try to trade for their No.2 overall pick, they turned down the 9ers. Ironically, had they traded the pick to the 9ers, the 9ers might have prevented the Jets from drafting Wilson. As a result, they are just trying to put on a brave face and give Zach Wilson as much time as they could to give him all the chance in the world to get better. Robert Saleh hasn't built up hardly enough credibility yet like Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have who can just say to Jed York that Trey Lance turned out to be a bust and still managed to get both of their contracts extended. In principle, Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh could get fired which is why they are so scared of pulling the plug on Zach Wilson.
Saleh and Douglas are fine. This is all about Wilson, he’s toast, done! They play the Chiefs next week, so he’s going to have an awful game again and they will either sign a vet or a young nobody. The Jets know that they basically have to wait for Rodgers to return, until then, they’re gonna do their best. Can’t blame the coach and GM for one of the most unlucky injuries of all time, obviously Rodgers came because he respects the coaching and management. This is all on Zach Wilson being on of the WORST QBs to ever be in the NFL.
As a niners fan, I was honestly surprised that they traded trey lance as quickly as they did. With what they gave up to him. However, looking at from the Jets' point of view, Zack is their Trey Lance, but they are missing one big component. There's no Brock Purdy on the Jets roster that just falls into your lap just by luck.
@@torry1385 That is true, but as the GM and HC, you still have to do something to try to salvage the season when the rest of the team is ready to win. Anyone is better than Zach Wilson. As a fellow 9ers fan, heck even Kap will be able to bail them out. They have decent WRs, RBs and a very good defense. If Saleh keeps playing Wilson, he will lose the locker room. To keep saying "Zach gives them the best chance to win" is just a blatant lie and everyone knows it.
how are they being stubborn if: 1) they went out and got aaron rodgers 2) no team is going to send them their back up qbs 3) they aren't bringing in qbs who are not better than wilson or boyle. i have no problem with wanting salah to hold wilson more accountable. but if he is their best option now then he is their best option now. sticking with him isn't being 'stubborn'.
get it right, the major part of the problem is NOT ZACH is the coaching, the culture, and the rest of the executives above. There is NO chess player nor a strategist on the NY JETS. A large % of their plays are PREDICTABLE. The DEFENSE is NOT all that at this moment. SAUCE is NOT playing at its full potential and we know who won the chess game on offense as well as defense.
Who exactly decided to pick Zach Wilson in the draft. I would like to know the name or names of those who are responsible for deciding he was worthy of being the second pick, or any pick for that matter, in the DRAFT.
Why can't the Jets just bring in Nathan Rourke + a veteran QB when available? Rourke's stats are excellent (was best QB in 2022 CFL by far) and looked darn good for Jacksonville (now their practice squad QB3)
Call Cardinals they specialize in poor personell they could give an estimate of Zach aptitude then proceed to go 180 opposite its called Bidwell touch Cardinals always wrong always.
It's because Zach Wilson's uncle is airline executive David Neeleman, who founded JetBlue. So that's why they're holding on to him because NYJ & JetBlue are partnerships.
Im new to watching football and admittedly have very little knowledge. Can someone help me understand how a guy can be so dominant in college and end up being a second round pick and then end up being this bad? Also, is it possible that if Zach hadn’t had to be thrown into the fire immediately he may have actually turned out better? How important is it to the new QB development to actually sit and learn for years prior to becoming the starting QB. Im just curious as to whether or not Zach would or could have been even average if he had the chance sit and develop properly. Id really appreciate any insight from some of you who know the game.
Zach was second pick overall. Quarterback is the most difficult position in sports. One needs lots of talent lots of instincts, and solid pass protection to succeed. For some skills to improve one needs game experience but one needs a baseline level of instincts and quick thinking reaction .
It's because the NFL is much higher level than College. The worst NFL team would likely dominate the best College team. Lot's of stand out College players have come to the NFL and struggled, not just Wilson. Everything is faster and harder hitting in the NFL.
The Jets have clearly decided to tank the rest of the season. Maybe they haven't said it, but they decided not to even sign a player is ridiculous. Mecki Becton needs to be out the door right behind ZW when the time comes. He did the QB, no favors. The Jets has NOTHING to try to win, welcome to being a jets fan.
Zach Wilson has been terrible but Gio showed once again how clueless he is about football. “Tim Boyle can’t be worse” just shows he can he spend 5 mins to look Boyle up. Boyle is just friends with Hacket and Aaron Rodgers. Boyle is a veteran that has thrown 100 passes 3 TDs and 8 ints. In college he played 3 years at UCONN and was 1 TD and 13 Ints. True story Then his last year he transferred to EK and had a monster year that got him into the NFL. He had……wait for it….11 TDs and 13 interceptions. Gio you are lost as always. Jets need a new QB but it’s not on the roster
One dropped pass away to win the game and everyone is freaking out to bench Zach Wilson. He's not great but still the best option right now and with as crappy as the OL is, no matter who the Jets bring in, they'll still struggle

This is the best of Wilson he is not going to get any better. Tank the season and hope to draft Caleb Williams and let him sit behind Rogers for a year … they should have kept Mike White and traded or release Wilson this past off season .
All the alternatives suck! Season was over when Rodgers went down. Not much of a difference in the big picture between 2-15 and 7-10. But Jets fans have a low bar and accept mediocrity. That's why you have people drooling over QBs like Mike White and Tim Boyle. The bar is low. Always happy with mediocrity
The Jets made a deal with devil and his name is Aaron Rodgers. I sincerely believe that Joe D and Saleh are consulting with Aaron and I don’t think he can handle another veteran coming in and winning with ‘his’ team. He’s an egomaniac. This is what we signed up for.
So to recap they picked up Aaron Rodgers backup and when he went down they didn't put him in? They skipped to Zach? Why did they pick up boyle at all then?
I hope the jets do sign some nobody and let him try to run the team. Then the fans will realize that the team sucks. Blaming Zac is just stupid. Your offensive line sucks. That's why Rogers got knocked out so quickly. Nobody can be a good qb when they don't get protection. And for proof that the offensive line is the problem: How many rushing yards did the jets have? Joe Douglas has failed the Jets. He's 21-48 as GM and 0-9 against Belichick. Is it so hard to sign another QB ?
Maybe the Jets need a new O-Line. Ask Aaron Rogers about that. If the Jets had a real O-Line Rogers would still be playing.
This qb issue has revealed a bigger problem for the jets. The coach has to go and so does the offensive coach and the gm Joe Douglas
joe Douglas just drafted the offensive and defensive rookies of the year, he also helped build a top 5 defense. who wants the job if that performance gets you fired?
Bingo
The Cardinals’s Cliff Kingsbury drafted Josh Rosen and after just one season, he dropped Rosen and drafted Kyle Murray. Joe Douglas, on the other hand, is too pig headed to admit he goofed up big time on Zack Wilson!
Where the hell is Josh Rosen these days?
Joe Douglas is 21-48 as the GM. Last place every season. He’s the worst
Ownership interference GM blowhards Josh Rosen and Kapernack could both lead Jets to some victories just let Sella focus on defense where he belongs
It is a great helmet!
@@stevenjames1138 No argument from me.
@stevenjames1138 how you blame him for lose but not the win? Shut up
I don’t understand why they don’t sign Colt McCoy. I think he’s a FA, so it wouldn’t cost any draft picks. Maybe he’s injured or has no interest in playing for the Jets?
Didn't think of that, tbh that's absolutely brilliant which means the Jets won't do it, makes too much damn sense.
Maybe just maybe some of us fans are tired of blowing seasons off until next year since Namath it gets old.
@@wallywanker7435 After 50+ years it is old? Maybe the jets just suck and have sucked for a long time and wishing for a Super Bowl is just stupid.
Did the Jets scouts/coaches who picked him get fired?
Saleh is going to get himself fired over Zach
Is enough talked about the scouts that reported back to headquarters a couple years back to report that Zach is our franchise QB?
A few years ago Eagle fans were treating Jalen Hurts the same way Jets fans are treating Zach. Imagine if they had got what they wished for back then if so they would be pining for a QB just like the one they have right now.
After 3 years I've seen enough of Zach Wilson. He looks like he has made no progress since last year. He looks like the same exact QB that lost to the Pats last year
Gio is as good a radio host as Zach Wilson is a quarterback.
Lol, facts. He’s just as clueless as a host as Wilson is in the pocket
All season ticket holders need to sue the jets for 100% refunds unless they address the QB position
One right here who agree’s
Shit happens this is what sports is all about
Clown take.
This is the end of Douglas and salah.
Zack Wilson is not a nfl QB
This should end their careers in New York
Who’s next???
If nothing changes they could be 4-13 or 5-12 this year which is awful
awful for this year, but it could be really good for the long term, and at this point I'm more concerned about the long term than I am this year, because this year is a wash it was a wash the second Rodgers went down, there is not FA or trade available QB that is going to fix the issues the Jets have, but if they clear some cap space, get rid of Carl Lawson, cut Wilson, get out from the contract of Corey Davis, maybe get out from the Laken Tomlinson deal, suddenly they can free up some cap space and roster spaces to maybe address a multitude of needs, and best case maybe they draft Caleb Williams, worst case maybe they get a package deal of a bunch of picks that can help fill more holes on the roster and give the team a better shot next year with Rodgers.
Try 1 and 16
As soon as Rodgers got injured that was it, season over, Wilson just isn't good enough.
The Johnson brothers should fire Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh. Jets fans should demand refunds!
Lmao and by next year when Zach’s gone all of these guys will be in lockstep saying he wasn’t an NFL caliber starting quarterback. The locker room is legit a week away from complete self destruction and division
Wilson refuses to throw the ball on time...point blank...same shit for three years straight now....he must Go!!!!!
Mac looks consistent and can play decent. He is a better player.
@@A_RUclips_Commenter No!! He regressed towards the end of his rookie season that cost his team the division title.
Hey geniuses, who is going to replace Z. Wilson? Nobody is available! Nobody!
They should bring in cam thats the best option right now. It was stupid of them to get rid of white he is better than wilson.
If not Zach Wilson then who? Carson Wentz, Nate Peterman or maybe Colin Kapernick? If there were any good QB's out there someone would have picked them up.
Jets about to have another top 5 pick
To spend on another defensive lineman
I have never seen a team or more specifically a head coach be filled with so much denial over a player. the Jets need to coddle and protect Zach Wilson is unbelievable. the statements yesterday of Zach gives us the best chance to win is unbelievable. I honestly believe that there's something else going on like a promise or deal was made or that Coach Saleh is trying to protect Douglas and Wilson to the detriment of the team
Can we as fans just not watch or go to the games until it gets turned around. Just let the media watch and give us an update. Less heartache....lol
Why is nobody criticizing the offensive line that got Aaron Rodgers hurt?
This a major part of the reason the patriots are a better orginization. We won't cut bait! We never put the team first, and give every drafted QB too many years. We refuse to actually look at someone's performance instead of the draft or free agency status.
Salah has to stop Coddling Zach Wilson. Maybe bith should go. Yeah. Both of them. The team need two leaders. A coach and a QB
the way zack wilson just turns his back to a rush and expects his legs can abil him out by running backward 6-8 additional yards, reminds me of bad madden players. He turns 5-6 yard sacks into 12-13 yard sacks consistantly, its poison. Joe Namath said it best, he does things that are not indicative of a qb let alone an nfl qb.
There's no words for it anymore. None. It's infuriating and simply...unbelievable.
No qb off the street will make this team better. Let the jets get they money worth out of Wilson
He sacked himself. Enough said.
I WAS SO DISGUSTED WATCHING I WAS RIPPING DIARRHEA FARTS ALL GAME LONG. MY HOUSE SMELLED LIKE FARTS.
I can’t believe I ever spoke poorly of Sam Darnold
You honestly should be ashamed of yourself. Darnold looked MILES BETTER as a jet than Wilson. And he was dealing with Adam Gase lol
They are going to get themselves fired, Saleah is 12-25
As a niners fan, I was honestly surprised that they traded trey lance as quickly as they did.
@@jamaaljoseph4275 Having 12 wins out of 37 games with one of the worst starting QBs in NFL history is kind of impressive...

Coach is just a hype man!!!!
I noticed on most passes he’s going on the same snap count. The Pats were timing their blitz on the count, “green 18 set hut.”
He has got to go, ( Zach Wilson).
get it right, the major part of the problem is NOT ZACH is the coaching, the culture, and the rest of the executives above. There is NO chess player nor a strategist on the NY JETS. A large % of their plays are PREDICTABLE. The DEFENSE is NOT all that at this moment. SAUCE is NOT playing at its full potential and we know who won the chess game on offense as well as defense.
Coaching definitely is a major issue, but so is Zach. He's terrible....I agree with the coaching though may be the bigger issue.
Nah if Rodgers was quarterback you wouldn't be saying that
Who exactly decided to pick Zach Wilson in the draft.
The stubbornness is from Woody Johnson. Zach is Woody's Maga pet
It's because Zach Wilson's uncle is airline executive David Neeleman, who founded JetBlue. So that's why they're holding on to him because NYJ & JetBlue are partnerships.
@coyote5.014 I believe it..the kid is politically connected. He'll be some kind of right wing politician when he's done playing football
Anyone know the song playing at the beginning of this vid
3 -14 unless they get rid of Wilson... Playoff contending with a game manager.
I just don’t understand what they were thinking when they let Mike White go 😂
Oh you dont understand why a medicore over paid backup was let go?
Zach Wilson has been terrible but Gio showed once again how clueless he is about football. “Tim Boyle can’t be worse” just shows he can he spend 5 mins to look Boyle up. Boyle is just friends with Hacket and Aaron Rodgers.
Boyle is a veteran that has thrown 100 passes 3 TDs and 8 ints.
In college he played 3 years at UCONN and was 1 TD and 13 Ints. True story
Then his last year he transferred to EK and had a monster year that got him into the NFL. He had……wait for it….11 TDs and 13 interceptions.
Gio you are lost as always. Jets need a new QB but it’s not on the roster
Who’s going to replace him?
One dropped pass away to win the game and everyone is freaking out to bench Zach Wilson. He's not great but still the best option right now and with as crappy as the OL is, no matter who the Jets bring in, they'll still struggle

Zach is absolute 🗑️ Just go for the #1 pick and grab a QB... Dump all the high salaries for picks
Tim Boyle has no frucking business even being on this team.
The Jets made a deal with devil and his name is Aaron Rodgers. I sincerely believe that Joe D and Saleh are consulting with Aaron and I don’t think he can handle another veteran coming in and winning with ‘his’ team. He’s an egomaniac. This is what we signed up for.
Woody is laying the wood on Zachs mom.
And the fans as well ....
If you don't have a running game, then blaming the qb is just plain stupid. But I guess that is what jets fans are and too many media are jets fans. DELUSIONAL!
It's just so weird to see Zac get all of this hate. He was supposed to just be a backup this year and an understudy to Rogers. What is he supposed to do now? Just walk away?
And why do jets fans have this "we should be in the super bowl" stick up their arses? When was the last time the jets went to the super bowl?

I thought this soon as Rodgers went down, trade for Tannehill. Not an answer but it’s something.
Better than what we got.
Young man’s rough game was far better than veteran Tannehill’s game. 100 yards passing, zero rushing, sacked 5 times. The worst. Jets give us Wilson, we’ll give you Tannehill and a million dollars
