Lana's eyes say everything, not only in amazement and surprise but also in understatement, as that moment she stands to see her best friend is the reason why the world is safe and also see the trust the Clark gave to her as he reveals his secret. It was a beautiful shot and well-acted!!
I agree how well she acted. There’s also more than a little bit of hurt behind her eyes too. Remember the literal mouth dropping awe she was in when she first saw Superman in Season 1? I really love how they did this.
Tyler Hoechlin is the ideal Superman. This was a well written, well acted, well lit, well shot scene. Kudos to all involved. The acting in this show is marvelous. Should be an HBO show, really. Heck, this is easily the best DC product (movies included) in years.
It's clear that Tyler is a great Superman, but Henry Cavill was the best Kryptonian version of Superman by far of them all. lol I think Cavill's Kal-El portrayed how a Kryptonian would act toward Humanity given how many times he's been betrayed by Humans but still remained 'neutral' to Humans as a whole. After all, when they turned against him, Kal-El could have wiped them out, but didn't. In this show, Humanity didn't exactly turn against him the way it did to Cavill's Superman in the movies.
Reveals like this can easily be silly, given the obvious problem with Clark's "disguise", but the acting, and the way it was shot, and the swelling music, makes for a very moving moment.
It is only a problem when you look at from the audience perspective. Yes, in the real world a pair of glasses would not be considered a disguise. If in universe, it is established that this is something that works; that a pair of glasses can fool everybody then it is fine and not a problem at all. The key is consistency.

I agree. Lana is usually one of the first if not THE FIRST person Clark tells. I would have rather her have always known, and pretended not to, because she understood why Clark never told her.
@@Traye76 Also if she knew then she could've been in the loop helping Clark when he definitely needed more help. Also she would now be helping Sarah understand Jordan a little more, because she would had her own experiences to guide her on the best way to advise her daughter.
I like that Clark didn’t tell Lana in this version. I feel like it made his connection with Lois deeper - like it didn’t make sense for him to reveal his secret until he met her, similar to how people say “you’ll know when you know” about meeting their future spouse. As much as he loved Lana, there was just something missing and so he didn’t tell her. With Lois, I also felt like they had a deep connection on issues like justice and fighting for the disempowered, and seeing how truly good she was made him feel that his secret would be safe.
@@HailSocialite is not that much as he not telling her, as it is she not figuring it out, like she grew up with him, when he couldn't control his powers, something weird she might have seen.
This is why the show isn’t getting canceled just yet where the others did. Yes it gets soapy and teen drama-ish but when they do emotional, they really stick the landings on this show
And the fact that Superman can stand on his own as a fighter. The Flash should be renamed , "Flash and his amazing friends" because basically the whole cast has powers and helps him.
I love this scene!! I hope Lana can understand why Clark didn't and couldn't tell her. Once she understands about Jordan's powers, the Bizzaro/Inverse world ect., she might understand more.
Fortunately, Jordan's superheroics thus far have been low-key enough that Sarah won't have to face the shame of being fooled by a hoodie the same way that her mother was by a pair of glasses.
She won't understand at first. At first, she's gonna be mad at him for keeping such a huge secret from her for so long. She'll probably go the whole first quarter or half of the next episode distancing herself from Clark, and then something is gonna happened where shell see his loved ones in danger. She will have a talk with someone and realize that he kept it a secret to protect the ones he loves.
@@playerschooljackson - Jordan already saved Sarah's father's life while "ghosting" her. That's on top of everything Clark has ever done for Smallville and the world.
@@daniels7907 you do realise it's NOT about the glasses, it's the mannerisms and confidence as a person that matters Clark hid his Superman heroics behind a clumsy public persona, it's why he acted weak picking up the cooler at the football practice, and feigned a flinch from Jon's punch on the field
1) Willing any day of the week to forgive "the glasses disguise" when a reveal is this beautifully shot and 2) Very well done David "Diggle" Ramsey on directing such a beautiful and epic episode!
This scene is sooooo important, you have NO idea... a long time coming in not just this show, but Superman lore... Clark MUST tell his secret to Lana, and not have it taken back or she discovered it by accident... it had to ring true from him.
You gotta love those magic glasses. 🤣 To think that a face accessory would make people oblivious to who you are. But that aside, this show is gold. The Superman I've been wanting to see for a long time. They got the character and personality just right. 👍
Remember Superman was created in the late 1930's, glasses were a lot heavier than, and wearing them long term, can reshape a person's face to a point of making a difference in appearance.
I was shocked. Initially, I was laying in bed when this scene started. I thought something was gonna happened to derailed him from telling her. When he did, I sat up in disbelief.
It was so beautiful, not like the corny way they did it in Smallville. This one was so tender, so heartwarming, just a beautiful scene and the way it was done, it was just perfect.
Well, I was waiting to see the look on Lana’s face when she see her best friend Clark Kent is superman. It was priceless. And I’m also hoping to the see look on her daughter’s face when she finds out her boyfriend is Superman’s son and he also has powers of his own. That scene will be epic and breathtaking
I remember seeing the trailer before the first season came out. I judged early because of how CW and it’s writer did with the other shows. I didn’t even watch the first episode until five more came out. I was hooked, and this reveal is the reason why I keep having hope that the writers truly understand their audience’s wish.
Who else stood up and clapped when Clark revealed his secret? Hopefully this marks the start of Lana’s entire family being brought into the Kents’ inner lives.
Sarah is going to freak out! But at least now Jordan can tell her that he saved her father from a burning building. And maybe she won't be too scarred because she hasn't known him as long as her mother has known Clark.
@@ajwebhead21 - I have my doubts. Sarah is massively self-centered and one of her triggers is secrets (but only when other people are keeping them). She'll probably blame Jordan for not telling her freshman year.
I love this show. One of the best "Superman revealed" scenes ever. Tyler Hoechlin and Emmanuelle Chriqui were perfect. Though, did you have to fly quite so high Clark? A foot or two was all you needed to prove your point. Also, now Jordan can tell Sarah "Sorry I wasn't at the election. I was literally saving your dad's life, my mom's life, and my grandpa's life".
Ehhh... still think he should hold off on that. Clark telling Lana is one thing: they have 30 years worth of history together. Like Clark said at the start of the season: give it time to make sure Sarah *actually* want's to be with Jordan before telling her everything?
@@MikeMozzaro so, reveal the truth to Lana so Lana will lie to her kids? The whole point of telling Lana was because it was time. Even if Sarah doesn't end up with Jordan, she is mature enough to keep the secret.
@@Trikeboy2 See I actually agree that Sarah probably wouldn't tell, but to me that isn't the point. Lana has stuck by Clark for at least 20 years, maybe even 40. She has proven time and time again to be able someone that Clark himself can rely on. She has *earned* the right for Clark to let her know his secret. Regardless of how tight-lipped she might be: Sarah has not earned anything. She's known Jordan for less then a year, and this entire seasons she's done nothing but toy with his emotions. Lana was okay with Clarks strange behaviour: she still stood by him inspite of that. Sarah has not done the same. It's not about whether they're mature enough: it's about weather they deserve to know. Lois and the twins deserved to know, Sam Lane deserved to know, John Henry and Natalie deserved to know, and Lana deserves to know. Sarah does not. I'd even argue that Kyle is more deserving to know then she is.
He is one of the best to ever do it,he captures the human and super hero sides perfectly,he seems very vulnerable when not wearing the suit and thats how it should be , Henry doesn't do that so well he
It was inevitable...Clark was going to have to tell Lana or anybody for that matter that's close to the Kents. Especially since their bizarro world counterparts are crossing over...plus the bizarro Els lived openly with the secret. But hopefully for awhile it's just Lana that knows.
When Superman grabbed Lana hand while she was removing the kryptonite, I thought she would later flashback to that reminding her of Clark. Which would start her journey of figuring out his identity. As in Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman, when Lois kissed Clarked she knew he was Superman (caused she kissed Superman as well) instantly.
This scene was amazing. The perfect way to reveal who he was. Lana had to have seen him thousands of times without his glasses. But to see him gently float up and the bright yellow sun enveloping Clark was beautiful.
I am not sure where I heard it, but I think I heard once long ago that due to his alien nature his aura that protects him sort of confuses people's minds from recognizing him, or magical glasses made from some type of kryptonite. Or it's a psychic reflexive responsive ability he has. Either way, the glasses thing I think in some way over the years has been explained or at least given an explanation for why people don't recognize him in the glasses.
Just got done watching. This just keep gettin better and better. I love the ending reveal. It kinda took him long enough. This will be a lot for Lana to process but I hope she won't be angry with him for not telling her.
most versions of Lana are smarter than the viewer realizes. I think the purpose of removing the glasses is to show they're a distraction, so people look elsewhere and then he slowly rises in to the air for Lana to make that connection. It's like teh few panels in the 80's Superman comics (Byrne rethink), where Lex realizes that both Clark and Superman show up in Metropolis at the same time, then discounts it as an obvious ploy to direct his attention elsewhere
Take a bow, showrunners. This scene is so beautiful, so perfect, I believe Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner are looking down from heaven and applauding.

@@Michael.Gr3y so truu
I've never watched this show but this is movie level cinematography.
Clark shows us the ease with which he flies. No theatrics, all he has to do is think it and it happens.
This is why the show isn’t getting canceled just yet where the others did. Yes it gets soapy and teen drama-ish but when they do emotional, they really stick the landings on this show
And the fact that Superman can stand on his own as a fighter. The Flash should be renamed , "Flash and his amazing friends" because basically the whole cast has powers and helps him.
i never Enjoyed this show this much before. i kinda knew this would happen soon. And it did. And it was beautiful!!!!
It's amazing how we talk about thr characters like they're real. That's how good this show is.
@@daniels7907 you do realise it's NOT about the glasses, it's the mannerisms and confidence as a person that matters
Clark hid his Superman heroics behind a clumsy public persona, it's why he acted weak picking up the cooler at the football practice, and feigned a flinch from Jon's punch on the field
This show is just… amazing.
1) Willing any day of the week to forgive "the glasses disguise" when a reveal is this beautifully shot and 2) Very well done David "Diggle" Ramsey on directing such a beautiful and epic episode!
It was simple. Heartfelt. Best Superman reveal ever to Lana Lang. I loved Smallville but this was perfect.
It's in the mythos.
Remember Superman was created in the late 1930's, glasses were a lot heavier than, and wearing them long term, can reshape a person's face to a point of making a difference in appearance.
This why out of all the CWDCU this show doesn't feel like all the rest. It feels more cinematic and more then the rest.
Tyler is the best superman
That closing acene choked me up and gave it a emotionally applause. That was perfect on all levels.
I was shocked. Initially, I was laying in bed when this scene started. I thought something was gonna happened to derailed him from telling her. When he did, I sat up in disbelief.
It was destined to happen cause Lana does know Clark's secret thru out the Comics and Media etc.
You cried for hours and had emotional breakdown resulting in a police intervention?
@@Truth72500 Yeah, I left that part out. How did you know?
I really do appreciate this show. This should be listed number 1.
It was so beautiful, not like the corny way they did it in Smallville. This one was so tender, so heartwarming, just a beautiful scene and the way it was done, it was just perfect.
Geez Tyler was awesome in this scene
I am honored that this amazing show is shot just down the road from me in BC
Well, I was waiting to see the look on Lana’s face when she see her best friend Clark Kent is superman. It was priceless. And I’m also hoping to the see look on her daughter’s face when she finds out her boyfriend is Superman’s son and he also has powers of his own. That scene will be epic and breathtaking
The last scene made me very emotional❤❤
I remember seeing the trailer before the first season came out. I judged early because of how CW and it’s writer did with the other shows. I didn’t even watch the first episode until five more came out. I was hooked, and this reveal is the reason why I keep having hope that the writers truly understand their audience’s wish.
Who else stood up and clapped when Clark revealed his secret? Hopefully this marks the start of Lana’s entire family being brought into the Kents’ inner lives.
i did !!
Sarah is going to freak out! But at least now Jordan can tell her that he saved her father from a burning building. And maybe she won't be too scarred because she hasn't known him as long as her mother has known Clark.
@@daniels7907 and she will feel bad about breaking up with him because all the time she thought he ghosted her he was protecting people
@@daniels7907 But....It's not going to fic their realationship that easy.
@@ajwebhead21 - I have my doubts. Sarah is massively self-centered and one of her triggers is secrets (but only when other people are keeping them). She'll probably blame Jordan for not telling her freshman year.
Out of all the arrowverse secret identity reveal I was exited for this one the most
I feel like Superman story is going to be the best ever is. I love all his stories lines…
I’m sorry but this is just hand downs the best show on tv currently… it is just so fucking good all around and nothing even comes remotely close!
What about stargirl
El Momento más esperado en la historia de supermán en la televisión
I love this ending scene so much!!
Same I hate having to wait now damn you CW they made this show so good. 💖❤️👌✌️😁👍.
@@jadendiaz3615 David Ramsey directed the episode
@@lawrencereid2767 He did a fantastic job.💖❤️👌✌️😁👍.
Tyler embodies the best Clark Kent AND Superman. He needs a movie!!!!!!!
For them to drop this and then go on hiatus is criminal….
Dude. I had no idea that the dude in the glasses was Superman holy crap
He is one of the best to ever do it,he captures the human and super hero sides perfectly,he seems very vulnerable when not wearing the suit and thats how it should be , Henry doesn't do that so well he
Simply a masterpiece.
It was definitely time for Clark to tell Lana the truth
It was
He revealed his secret to Lana, epic.
Same I know right this is going to be interesting.❤️👌✌️😁👍.
Was actually an earned moment too
On a scale of 1 to 10 how pissed is Lana going to be ?
@@micahfranklin4560 probably like a 5 or 6.
It was crazy. But I hope Lana doesn’t end up pushing Clark away. He had his reasons for hiding it from her.
"Now 10 years of life in Smallville is starting to make a lot of sense!"
I know right ….
Emmanuelle Chriqui is doing a wonderful Job this season!!
I love that scene
that ending took me by surprise
I literally clapped at the end of this scene. Well done
It was inevitable...Clark was going to have to tell Lana or anybody for that matter that's close to the Kents. Especially since their bizarro world counterparts are crossing over...plus the bizarro Els lived openly with the secret. But hopefully for awhile it's just Lana that knows.
And Clark pointed out what a nightmare that was for the Bizzaro El's. Telling the world is not the solution, only those closest to them.
You can see that Clark is actually nervous about finally telling the truth to his first love, and best friend. Dam Tyler is killing in the role.
When Superman grabbed Lana hand while she was removing the kryptonite, I thought she would later flashback to that reminding her of Clark. Which would start her journey of figuring out his identity. As in Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman, when Lois kissed Clarked she knew he was Superman (caused she kissed Superman as well) instantly.
this scene was great everything about it was spectacular.
Such a great scene
They really thought about revealing Superman identity to such a close person
Unlike flash who just shows his identity to literally anyone
Now for Jordan to tell Sarah.
