Can somebody please tell me how these players qualify for the nationals. Do you have to belong to an APA team. Is their a single one on one tournament to qualify? Thanks
I played apa years ago and if it is the same I believe you look for an apa team in your area that you live in, then you join an apa team in your area and you play once a week at local bars-pool halls- pubs; locations like that. Most everyone starts as a level 3, I think it is. Then your assessed after 2-3 weeks to see if you move up or down in your ranking status. The higher your rank the better you are and vise versa. So if your team as a whole does well in your area you will be invited to go to Las Vegas to play in the team tournament, which is mostly set up much like how you play at your local area. Then I believe you are able to opt to play in these individual tournaments like you just watched. Hope this helps. God Bless and good luck....
I have watched quite a few of these matches and I notice 2 things that everybody seems to do. They all place their bridge hand very far away from the cue ball and they all shoot really hard. These are small tables and a little finesse goes a long way.
Lol APA = Garbage pool deluxe. What a bunch of trash. Never have I ever seen a game of 8 ball where an object ball can fall into a non called pocket and you get to continue shooting. I would be absolutely ashamed to play that kind of garbage pool.
I know, man. Just joined APA for 1st time and crazy to get rewarded for a miss in a corner then have it carom around and bounce off another ball into the side.; there's no skill then. Worse, it can happen at the most costly times. I'm still sick about that happening.
