Driver Arrested By Pasco Sheriff Office
PASCO COUNTY, FL
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Pasco Sheriff's deputies received information regarding a stolen vehicle in Crystal Springs. After locating the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and fled from deputies.
The driver led deputies to a dead end road and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended by a Pasco Sheriff's Office K9 unit, surrendering when the K9 was close. The driver was arrested on outstanding violation of probation warrants as well as charges related to fleeing to elude and grand theft auto.
We share this body worn camera video as it highlights the important work of the Pasco Sheriff's Office K9 unit. Due to the quick actions of the K9 unit, this individual that fled from law enforcement was quickly and safely apprehended, preventing any further victimization to our community and also allowing deputies to return to other calls for service in an expeditious manner instead of a lengthy search for this individual which could have lasted for hours.
