One of Tampa's largest cigar factories ready for restoration

Tampa once had more than 200 cigar factories. Now, only about 20 remain -- and some of those are falling down.
One of the largest, the Perfecto Garcia factory on North 16th Street, is in bad shape, but Robert Holsopple believes he can put it back together.

Perfecto Garcia was my great-grandfather’s uncle. He also worked at the factory and then moved on to another cigar maker. We’ve been to Tampa dozens of times and I never knew this until today. Amazing.

I have some archive papers but would love to know more about Perfecto himself.
