You should try one of there originals such as "sing", "love again" or "run to you". That way you will get to judge them just on their own talent for doing their own music not just doing someone else's, which is amazing. Loved the reaction by the way. Now I have to go check out the Mad world version you were talking about cause I never heard of that one. Thank you.
Maynard James Keenan OCEANS, HUMBLING RIVER, MAMA SED, THE GREEN VALLEY, TUMBLWEED, GRAND CANYON, AGUSTINA. Sublime melodic melodies. Maynard's and Carina's vocals will give you goose bumbs. Puscifer is nothing like TOOL. Maynard is one of the greatest vocalist of my generation. 🤞✌
So the fact that they covered the song using ONLY their voices and made it sound just as compelling as the original, doesn't qualify as "doing something special with it"??? Come on, man! Respectfully, you're straining credibility here!! =)
I've done so many videos so not sure what I said in this one but I probably did say they made it their own but they might not have changed up chords and veered off enough to blow out my imagination :-) Like Devo did with Satisfaction for instance.
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 I'll check it out. Danny I know that you like the musicianship of TOOL. They do a cover of Led Zeppelin's No Quarter that's Amazing. Maynard's other band A Perfect Circle does a mind blowing cover of Zepp's When the LEVEE Breaks off of the album eMOTIVe.
PTX gör allt till sitt eget, med helhetstänkande text +arr +video och dessutom med artiga nickningar till originalen. De har ett antal titlar som låter omöjliga att "uppdatera" eller göra "lika bra som eller tom bättre än originalet". Halleluja, Sound of silence, Bohemian rhapsody, Imagine, Amazing Grace... För att inte tala om Daft Punk, Can't hold us, New rules & Are you that somebody...
PTX upgraded the Gary Jules version. I’m sure you noticed that the cadence and chords were the same, not to mention the lead vocals had the same feel. They weren’t going for the original because maybe like you they liked Gary’s version better.
A cappella versions i usually don't compare to any solo or duo performance arrangements because it's no different than having several professional fighters against one. Even the top 1% of the best of the best vocalists regardless of range can't directly compete and shouldn't have to. Assuming the arrangement is amazing. All the vocalists are top notch. Everything from "true bass" to the 5th octave destroying sopranos and tenors are impossible to compete with solo if all else is equal.
I strongly disagree. harmonies often times make it less personal and a single voice can shine bright so I say it's harder for the acapella group to make something I can feel.
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 i get what you mean but i think we aren't speaking about the same thing. My fault for not making my comment more clear. I was mostly referring to vocal acrobatics. Which in itself doesn't necessarily make a performance more impactful or emotional. For me personally insane acrobatics gives me goosebumps. Which isn't necessarily the correct way to appreciate music.
I haven't heard a bad one from PTX. So much talent. Stellar production. Respect in all their treatments. I'm with you.
👍🏻
Sound of silence and hallelujah
Only knew the Gary Jules version from Donnie Darko and the Netflix series Sense8.
Pentatonix definitely does it justice.
Stark, lush, haunting, luminous.

Thanks! Yes it’s Gary Jules - Mad World
Hallelujah and Mary Did You Know are both stunning!!!
Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
Please react to THE SOUND OF SILENCE cover by Pentatonix
Did yesterday and it should be up pretty soon.
That intro clip "when your heroes fall" sounds great i need to listen to that.
Glad you like it!
Same!
Thanks Stacy!
This is a great cover. My favorite version is the Jayden Rylee cover, the instrumentation is haunting, and her vocals are pretty good.
Never heard that one.

@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 Fair enough!!
A really interesting cover. They definitely put their own take on it. For me I like the original. Tears for Fears rock.
For me Gary Jules reigns supreme with this song :-)

@@PowderedToastMan420 And this is a cover of the Gary Jules version, not the Tears version.
Cool, thanks.

If you ident know you would swear they have a huge pipe organ behind them LOL !👏👏👍
Hello!! I really recommend you to react to Voctave, starting by their Disney Princess Medley!!
Thanks! Unfortunately I'm not a Disney fan.
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 you can check their "Somewhere over the rainbow cover" !
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 Me either. At all. That cover was worth it. It was ridiculous.
Cool, love that song. Do you have a link for it?
Cool. Drop the links if you like.

What about Adam Lambert s version???It s one of a kind!!!
I don’t think I’ve heard that.
@@dannytheswedishmusixian1513 Give it a listen. It is really good.
Preferably the live version on American Idol season 8. I like it better than the studio version. ruclips.net/video/PfR0JGWX62E/видео.html
Thanks! I actually think I’ve seen that.

Yeah I had to put the black box over the video to be able to post it.
They blocked the video.
