    So fascinating! The Galapagos doesn’t seem real; iguanas, sea lions AND turtles all together?!?! It’s definitely high on my bucket list

    I heard that Marine iguanas are also known for their very efficient salt glands, where they “sneeze” out salt.

    Im not 100% on the effort that goes into these videos, theyre all top quality, but id love to watch even longer videos if possible; 8 and a half minutes and the video is over already almost lets down the enchantment. even still, Thank you for letting me experience such underwater beauty, even vicariously.     5:14 Cameraman Todd using his most 'sophisticated' camera equipment for the job! 😁
    These islands have some of the most truly unexpected creatures inhabiting it. Like for penguins, most people would think of icy cold Southern latitudes and not a bunch of islands right in the middle of the Equator!
    I wonder if some of these marine iguanas will, if given several million years of evolution, converge in on fully aquatic forms such as their long lost reptilian relatives, Ichthyosaurs and such.

    Darwin was correct on almost everything, but he was incorrect in saying marine iguanas are ugly. Marine iguanas are beautiful, precious. 🥲

    Hi dear John. Awesome video. I noticed that you took some takes from Tortuga Bay close to Puerto Ayora, However where did you manage to dive with Iguanas?
    I planning to take a liveaboard next time I visit Galapagos, in you opinion, what is the best months to take a liveaboard?

      There is a place in Fernandina Island where you can swim with them. Best time for the Galapagos big animals is June-October.

      In the 1998 movie version of "Godzilla", the beast is depicted as a marine iguana that has been mutated by nuclear testing. So if this iguana looks like Godzilla, that's why!

    black iguanas are the delayed group that needed to stay....
    I wonder if they ever encountered any eels?
    maybe the seal simplified the eel?
    the sea turtle might of got bitten softly by the eel?
    I'm so glad you got footage of those iguanas feeding on the reef....
    good camera notions and narrative examples.

      It reminds me of the green iguanas too.
      It thinking of help grow the reef floral line more....with others unknown, optionally.
