- So Tommy finally got around to playing the new HOI4 DLC, Trial of Allegiance and this is his first game as Argentina in the South America DLC for Hearts of Iron 4.
Is the new DLC good? Is it bad? Is it a disappointment? Will TommyKay get banned from HOI4 after this?

It's nice that things actually happen in South America now, but I think the DLC would have been a lot better received if it also added a new mechanic or overhauled an old one.
Or if they didn't steal half the content of a free mod (that actually has focuses for more countries), then sell it like it's their idea. Literally going same route as Rockstar - next Hearts of iron will probly have online item and currency shop instead.
It’s not an expansion though, they stated this multiple times before release

@@Lady_Evelyn Their mod policy is literally: "We grant you the privilige to fix our game, but don't expect any thanks, money or royalties" - then they privatize that work they didn't do, and slap a 15-20$ price. So don't pretend to be oblivious why every DLC since La Resistence has mixed or negative reviews!

Another reason why everyone loves mods like RT56 and Kaiserreich is they dont have this annoying ass 70 days focuses wich are slowing game so much that by the time you finish political tree its 1941 (especially now when new focus trees are much larger)

Well considering you’re a very minor player in the game, being south american, and they can’t have you be super powerful just from focuses early, i think it makes sense. Games are meant to last to 44/45

They did it better with Scandinavian countries. Lots of 35 days and they "ready enough" when the wars break out.

They literally made the historical route for Italy the worst - Stalin loses 14 million people, doesn't get deposed. Mussolini loses 1 camel in Ethiopia, gets executed :D
Italy has one of the best focus trees in the game dude, their focus tree and the plane designer are the good things about BBA, Switzerland and Ethiopia were complete puke and i honestly dont care what the reviews say for dlcs i actually enjoy a lot of dlcs that are not well perceived by the community like battle for the Bosporus lol. If Germany and japan got a rework as good as Italy's hoi4 would be a better game its just what it is @@meganoobbg3387

Argentina was a powerhouse back than until the 60s or 70s then they fell of hard
Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world at one point
Hoi4 players over the last 6 years: man these focuses are wayyyy to long 35 days would be better
Paradox: add two focus trees in a single dlc that have 35 day focuses and never address the issue again
tommy has yet to get a mental breakdown when he realises he will need to do full world conquest with brazil.

The only worthwhile paths in this DLC are Mapuche, Fourth Reich and Peron, and you can't change my mind on that. Paradox massively cheaped out on this DLC.

It’s usually a lot of fun until you run into poorly made mechanics and game breaking bugs - so you ll only start suffering 5min into the game (unless you need something random to happen then it’s just pain from the beginning) 175/190 achievements in btw + the new ones

In *_any_* game... If grinding for smiley face stickers is your thing, that's cool. My problem is they started adding essentially achievements into games that you need to do in order to unlock parts of the game. Like FPS where you need to grind to unlock the weapons etc, it's so mind numbingly boring and annoying. Why is that playstyle imposed on everyone else? What's more annoying is watching the achievement grinders get everything unlocked, the point at which you can just play and enjoy the game for what it is, and they say "no content I'm bored". Just keep it as meaningless achievements.

The one thing im happy about with this dlc is that it isn’t tying a major game rework to it like most other hoi4 dlc. A lot of people cited this as a bad thing, but whats worse? Optional side content for nations in a relatively unimportant part of the world that you can skip getting if you want, or the same thing but it has a naval rework tied to it so it is more or less mandatory to play the same game as everyone else?
I will not dare to touch this dlc no matter what anyone says
As always boring tommykay on hoi4 . Modern tommy is ok to watch only during variety stream like wow etc . For hoi4 and eu4 everytime you see tommy is always a pain both for him to play and us to watch
