Imagine if this crash was done over & over in real life by Hollywood stunt men, no 2 crashes would ever be identical, the same is true with BeamNG due to subtle AI adjustments in each run resulting in a different crash each time, if you want the crash to be idtencal each time, then you can simply record it. Great tutorial as usual, you are the Morgan Freeman of the BeamNG community..
Here's my method, so I record the movement for car 1, then once being done I'd pause the game (J) then record car 2 replay car 1, then I'd proceed to crash car two into car 1, and that folks is how you time it perfectly.
The same scenario does not happen, probably the AI slightly adjusts the steering / speed during the drive. A slight movement in the steering completely changes the outcome. Just my thought. But, BeamNG could give a perfect reply.
beam ng is a pretty crazy physik simulation it does wind, tire flex, suspension simualtions and so on. There are so many factors the crash cant be the same everytime

I'm currently making a 3 laps race on Hirochi, I scripted 4 AI, the fifth is tricky between them, when I want to adjust delay, it becomes worse. Same with 7 AI scripted on the road of Johnson Valley .
A bit late but the AI cars you can spawn have a risk factor of 0.3, setting this to 2 makes for fun rides in Italy on the coast but that will add a bit of random to trafic. This might be the same for this video's ai cars. Not sure if you can set risk to 0.0 for these, that might change the randomness.

I need to try it, but I believe so. The issue would be the timing will be off due to the acceleration of the different vehicles. Of course, then the timing could be tweaked… I need to try that!

Is there a way you can see other recordings while you are recording? Like for a highway scene I want to see other cars so I don’t rear end the other recordings
Wow. That is a GREAT question! I'm not sure, but you could TRY using the TAB key to change between vehicles while the script is running. I'm just not sure that would work. Another option might be to switch to "free cam" (Shift-C) and pan around, but driving your vehicle while also trying to move the camera around could prove VERY hard to maintain control. haha! If I get a sec, I will try this and see if I can come up with a viable solution.
Dude do u know any way to make AI traffic to move in my made map using my choised route? I made offroad map and i would really like to have a somehow badly working traffic in there, but i have no clue how to make one so maybe anyone in here knows these things more? :) Thanks!
having an issue with the delay system, think it is broken as of new update because i will set a delay at 5 seconds. and the car does not wait and instantly goes, i follow everything you do, i got it to work a few times but then it will just bug out and instant drive, however i found that speeding up the time works and can deal with the issue, however it is much better to use both, is there any chance i am using the tool incorrectly or is it just a bug and im gonna have to wait
if only the Ai scripting would record the input of the vehicle instead of the path it take. i feel like the path you want it to do would be more accurate
I agree! Often, I want the speed, angles of attack, etc, and not just the path. Plus, if it would track the inputs, we could set up real-life crashes to study how the vehicles reacted, possible escape points, etc.
Create the path as normal, then while the car is driving the path in regular gameplay, hit the free cam and move around. But, I am not sure if you can record the path while in free cam. I have not tried that...
Sounds like your computer may have alternate key mappings. Do you have a Fn key on your keyboard? If so, hold that while you tap the F11 key to if that activates the World Editor.

So, you’re recording car two while the game is paused? I’m afraid I’d have to see a video of how that’s done.

Hold ALT and tap the left arrow to slow, tap right to speed up. It will cycle so keep tapping to go slower and slower, etc.

Heya! I believe you can use Shift-R to reset all the vehicles back to their starting positions at once.
how do i save all these for later use
You do not have to press reset vehicle on every car you just need to press play all and they will all go back to the beginning and start there
